Just got the Kaze lever in. Figured I’d share a couple pics as well. @zero_requiem got one, tried it out and I think it’s definitely a good option, and addition to the family.
If you’re looking for something that’s not too expensive to at least get started with go check out the IST Makestick case on makestick.com. Pretty decent for something that’s not crazy expensive. You won’t go wrong with the Omni either it’s amazing. Panthera’s are great but I definitely wouldn’t screw into the panel if you wanted the Korean stick feeling in it, there’s a few different crown setups that work in JPN mounts. A Taeyoung is good stuff too. Once you try one you’ll want to try many, I just love em. Hopefully you get something good for you regardless!
@“masked rider” panthera is definitely a really good choice for mounting a k-stick. If you plan on building a full custom enclosure and don’t care about playing on Xbox one you can get an etokki omni brook ps4/pc pcb when you get your taeyoung. Comes with all the wiring you need and excluding shipping it’ll cost about $80usd. If you want to save time get the omni!
@ykd holy joystick collection batman! You almost have more than me lol
Yeah Help Me’s lever is just a slightly more refined 309. I am intrigued by his take on the 305. I feel like he will look into modifying the square actuator to not only work well without the hinges but still feel solid for both 2D and 3D fighters. Did you show him the Golden Crown kit?
Oh yeah did you ask Knee if he tried the Golden Fanta kit yet?
yes. I told him about our community project “golden project” and he was impresed, but we discuss more about his project since I want to dig as many information from him.
knee is pretty quite person, he doesn’t talk with others korean player, except chanel. I’m not sure that he use our golden parts.
Saint use our golden actuator but he doesn’t know which one, he said he try all and use the one he comfortable with.
@wazwuz sounds bout right since saint does all of jdcr’s work on his fightstick lol. No wonder jdcr always wins cuz saint is always slaving on his stick lol. I do the same for my twin brother while he plays tekken the whole time.
Yeah, I’m aware of the Makestick case. Part of the reason I’m so picky is because I don’t want to lose the full touchpad functionality, as minor as it is. Some games actually make use of it beyond as just a button (IIRC, it’ll actually change where you reset to for KOFXIV in training mode). That’s why I’m looking more at standard retail sticks. The Panthera is the only stick that covers all my needs alongside being the most responsive stick thanks to firmware updates. Basically, a Panthera with a custom top panel (K-mount, Noir layout) is my dream build. After playing on and fiddling with the 309MJ and someone else’s Myoungshin briefly, I’m definitely itching to try all of them lol.
I might end up just dropping my JLF back into my VLX and drilling out the HRAP4 after all. Probably the most cost efficient way to get a K-mount stick since I’ve already got two sticks lying around. I’ll definitely have to do some additional weight and anti-slip mods to the case if I’m going to use it to play on K-sticks.
Totally understandable with the touch pad support. Definitely can be a headache to try to get it like that on a custom stick. The Dream build Panthera’s basically the same thing I’d want as well. Love Noir layout.
Do you ha e any pictures of your VLX next to your Rap? If you do, feel free to fire me a message, I’m really interested in seeing the size difference between them. A VLX would be a great addition, just cut how huge it really is !
I think Knee is still just using Green Game Land’s own lever, nothing more than that. I am still surprised that Green still are not willing to sell them when Help Me has been getting positive reception for his new version of the 309 lever. There is also Kaze’s own design in collaboration with IST as well as his own version of the 309. Hell, even the Fujin lever has been desired.
Knee still use the green level ( I see chanel also use green lever), it seems knee is very comfortable with green lever, he said that many other korean player don’t like green lever (just like we try using golden fanta first batch), but knee have adapt and manage to conquer it (manybe since he was working on green arcade)
Ok since my last post my mail has gone bananas , there is no way i can keep up with all the requests and i cant have 20 fight sticks in my bag lol … plus the most requested arcade stick people wants is the Green Arcade one , its impossible to purchase the owner is a really old stuborn guy he sells it only to like Knee or some other known people and he charges a buttload like 90 euro for the stickitself or something crazy like that .
About Knee beeing silent … sadly there is a long story going on in Korea and Knee’s attitude is / was really bad and he made alot of people players not like him.most koreans that is .
@ykd damn dude nice collections , i am looking on buying the newer version of Kaze lever … how does it feel ? ive been told by Kazane himself that its way better for everything i dont know what he have done to the lever would be really interesting if you spot the differences . i absolutly love that Lever just sometimes diagonals on V2 suffers. I see you have a 309 HelpMe aswell , for some reason everyone complains about that lever is it that bad ? They made a colab with Kazane on istmall and they are selling a moded one because how bad v3 was whats your take on it .
Well for most of the common levers out there, you sort of can’t. You can try creating shaving off the plastic in the collar’s funnel to create a square but you can risk performance.
I am not surprised by the price but damn I wouldn’t mind spending it as a collectible. There is always convincing the players with money at events but it might infuriate Green Dad when they come back. Since Knee will be at the Tekken World Tour finals at San Francisco…
Hey Mario’s!
I actually still haven’t had any time to really test out the Kaze, I will be getting it done tomorrow though. I actually really like my 309Helpme, I got the AM5s in it for microswitches, so it’s been really good for me personally, haven’t had issues with the diagonals or movement. Im actually curious to see what the difference is with the Kaze 309, over the current standard one.
I wonder why he’s so unwilling to make them available, it sounds like there’s a lot of interest in it and I know many of us would pay his prices no problem. Perhaps just loyal to his own countrymen and the closest to him. Regardless would be a great addition to the collection.
The shaft on that Kaze lever looks thick. No probs with diagonals? I’ve been messing around with the 10mm shaft with my Golden Fanta parts. I’ve slowly gravitated towards shorter throw. I feel like my diagonals lack unless I dig deep towards the diagonal throw. Because of it, I’ve went back with the stock actuator. Also still using am5’s btw.
Short answer: not really.
Long answer: that’s sort of what we were talking about a few posts ago as the Crown CWL305 is the closest thing, at the moment, that you’re going to find to a K-stick with a square gate.
Today my Fujin V2 arrived. The lever is fantastic , altho i have a small issue maybe it just needs to be broken in . i cant wavedash really fast it needs alot of force and sometimes diagonals dont input or something maybe am just too used to Kaze . @zero_requiem have you found any solution to make Fujin act like a Kaze ? with like down microswitch lighter ? if so wich one ?
