yeah so excited :). he said he made some changes on the stick and he feels comfortable using it.

I am at SEA Major right now. I meet saint and give him 15mm actuator he ask for last time we meet, and gave him a set of golden switch support to upgrade his stick.

then I also meet Help Me, and try his stick. my impresion is he use big actuator and standart shaft, short enggage medium throw. grommet is about clear-green golden grommet. I donā€™t see any special about this purple stick.

his english is pretty good so we can have little discussion.
he explain to me that his lever is based on 309 body. he use 16mm actuator and standart 9mm shaft.
about the switch, since panasonic discontinued and gersung switch is suck, himself is making special order 300grams A3 to gersung factory for his signature purple lever.

interesting news:
he said to me that he is working on new model with crown, named it ā€œ305 modelā€. he show me that it will use switches without hinge, just like sanwa JLF and have square actuator (iā€™m not sure about the model since he doesnā€™t show me picture). I mention about 307 model and he said that model is not reliable. before he go back to hotel, I ask about release date, he said about 2 month, maybe.

tommorow I will meet him again and try to have some more discussion.

at first he worried since he doesnā€™t bring long usb cable (the stick i gave to him use brook FB audio). and the stage layout need long usb cable. I went to store and get 3meter usb cable extension, test it 10 minutes and no dissconnect issue (no power loss). and give it to him.
I see the problems that effect his performance is that the chair is too high that makes him in uncomfortable possition. he perform well when playing in poll with Tanukana.

JDCR and Tokido also have this issue and replace the chair.

ah i see good stuff man new helpme 305 sounds intresting! will be watching when there live again

Crown already makes a 305 model with those characteristics (square actuator, non-level switches). It would be interesting to see what modifications HelpMe has for it. This what one looks like: http://www.etokki.com/Joysticks/Crown-CWL305-Green

Yep, that new 305 helpme could be good and very different to any joystick, if the joystick is good, it would have their fans.

ahhh yes i remember. i wonder nobody using it, is it that bad?

@wazwuz i tried using it for a bit, but i think the actuator was too big since i kept getting wayy too many unwanted inputs

I find kbdā€™ s very easy to do with a3s but have a hard time doing them with am5s. Itā€™s very weird and on top of that i find kbds easier to do on the mj vs the k-mount version. Coparing the 309 to the kaze lever a3s work well with shorter throw and am5s are good with wider throw. Like i can use a3s really well on the kaze ans 309 but if im using fujin, myoungshin and taeyoung i always use am5s with a3/a2 for down input. Electrics with both switches are very easy to do on 309. Iā€™m used to large throw of the taeyoung so take everything with a grain of salt since everyone is different.

Iā€™m actually interested in trying a Taeyoung Fanta myself since I hear nothing but good things about it. Not really a fan of the way the Omni looks so Iā€™d have to either build a stick myself or mod something to accept Korean mounts.

@ā€œmasked riderā€ definitely get one itā€™s worth the try especially since Golden fanta parts fit perfectly on it. My only gripe with the omni is the 8 screws underneath but Iā€™ve gotten used to it and there isnā€™t much room to rest your palms in the front. What stick are you planning on drilling the 35mm hole into? I own a madcatz sfxt vs, madcatz sfxt pro, madcatz round 2 te, te2+, panzer 3 and omni and out of all of those Iā€™d say the omni by far my favorite in terms of size, weight and feel. Itā€™s an all metal enclosure so it feels very solid compared to say anything madcatz, hori or razer.

Blood Diamonds bro.

I used one briefly and it seemed fine to me. That said, the square gate/actuator probably isnā€™t why people gravitate towards k-sticks in the first place. If you want a square gate youā€™ve got Japanese sticks and if you want a square actuator youā€™ve got American sticks.

What switches did you decide you use? I was curious about PASā€™ stock if they switched to the A3s. Feel free to message me if you still have the AM5s Iā€™d definitely like to grab some.
Thanks !

@ykd no way I want the am5sā€¦u have more that me! Lol

Whatā€™s mine is yours buddy. The Fujins need spares!

In 1 and a half week am going to Korea for some buisness , if someone wants something from there DM me .

oh sorry, im holding onto these. i feel really lucky that i was able to get a set of them in my 303 and now this 309. im not sure if its just the am5s but the stock setup on the helpme feels sooo good.

not sure if you can use the helpme in your setup, but try emailing paradise and see if they can send you one with am5.

I was considering a Panthera since it has the easy internal access. I was also thinking maybe to replace the entire metal panel with a custom one that were possible as opposed to drilling it. Realistically, if I do splurge on a new stick for a K-mount Iā€™ll probably just end up ordering the Omni anyway since it comes with the Taeyoung. I do also have a both a HRAP4 and a VLX, so I might just end up drilling out the HRAP4 instead.

Itā€™s all good man, I just collect the AM5s to use with my Fujins. They are definitely a good thing to hold on to though. At least until something comes along close to them. Good call on the 303 as well. I picked up the Green bat top version, but ended up using it for parts. I have a 309 Helpme with the AM5s with a switch support plate on them very good as well. Iā€™ve heard the A3s are pretty good too.
