finally got my harness and got to try the 309mj, holy Crap it feels so different from the hayabusa. took about an hour to get used to it in training mode but I can see why people like them. really takes me back to the old arcades from the 90’s.
things I noticed right away, air dashing is easier for me. The grommet is kinda light compared to the 2lb Spring I use on my busa. The dead zone is freaking huge compared to the busa and specially the ls40. I’m gonna keep messing with it and see how I feel about it after a couple of weeks.
Got the Infiltration lever today, after a nearly 6 hours test of mix-n-matches to see which parts fits the lever the most, finally got it down pat to what I wanted.

The Infiltration lever was supposed to go into the KI TE2 with plans of either padhacking an HFC4 PCB in or a UFB into its guts, but after getting a very good deal with the Panthera, looks like the KI stick will be salvaged for parts. I do have a Brook XB1/XB360 to PS4 converter coming, will see if I like how I feel about that running with converter later.
In the end, I went with this config for all three sticks:
- eTokki Omni: Taeyoung Fanta, Golden Fanta mod (15.5mm actuator, 8mm shaft, green 45 grommet). Stock A2 switches.
- Razer Atrox: Crown 309MJ. Moved the “stock” red grommet from the Infiltration lever into the 309MJ. Stock A3 switches.
- Razer Panthera: Crown SDL-301-DX. Moved the “stock” white grommet from 309MJ into the Infiltration lever. Stock A3 switches. Circlesquare gate.
Loved the Infil lever the most when it comes to corner coverage, flawless diagonal-related move execution at all time. And with the Panthera, I feel that the stick runs faster than the other two, running in PC. Running all three at the same time (Switching between them playing T7), executing Paul’s “Sample Combo 5” gets flawless execution-wise from me using the Panthera, while the other two are tied at second place with occasional missed inputs and execution. Would input lag contributes toward this? The Omni with its Brook PS3PS4 board, would it improve the matter somewhat if there’s a way to force it into PS4 mode, instead of letting it autodetect and run whichever mode it prefers? All three sticks are updated to their latest firmwares.
@Agieze The Crown rubber that is being sold by Makestick here, is this rubber compatible with 309 HelpMe Korean version ? I asked this a while back but didn’t get a clear answer. I am hoping you can clarify this as you seemed knowledgeable regarding the Crown products. Also, can the 301 45g red grommet work with 309 HelpMe ?
I have a really tough time navigating Makesticks website. The link I posted above, the one for Crown 303/307 lever, says “For Crown 309 lever, please follow the link below to purchase”. I cant find this supposed link anywhere. I have been searching for a harder grommet for 309HelpMe for a while now, and would really appreciate it if someone could share the link where they purchased it from. Thank you!
I can confirm that the 301 45 Red Grommet does work for the 309 Help Me lever. I just bought the red 301 45 grommet from focus attack and tried it the other day.
Anyone kno if a crown 309 will fit in a Qanba Obsidan im bout 2 pick one up?
The MJ model will fit.
Go for it man. ID is zeroxrequiem
@stringfellow I’m not finding much input lag at all using the omni on pc and this is from switching back and forth between ps4. Kazuya’s pwegf comes out instantly and I never really seen the difference up until I got pc version a couple weeks ago. Infiltration lever is amazing at hitting diagonals and kbd but I find my CD speed suffers due to the circle square gate.
Ok kool thanks for the info
@zero_requiem I think the sense of “speed” stems mostly from the fact that I really have to make sure diagonals were hit properly on the Taeyoung compared to the Infil lever. It’s much more forgiving on the Infil lever, compared to having to hammer it in with the Taeyoung. Plus, when you’re fishing for quick and complicated QCF to connect on a very tight window, you tend to simplify the execution to the point that it missed altogether.
Got my 309MJ in from FA for my Qanba Q1. Fits like a glove.

I have a process like this in my near future with the same levers so thanks for the detailed info. How different does the infil lever feel with the 309 grommet?
Picked up the Crown 45A grommet for my 309MJ. Feels really good for 1P wavedashing, awful for everything else. Might just be a matter of practice, though I’d like to see how the 35A from the regular 309 feels. Also not sure if it’s because the grommet is pushing back harder or the fact that the Crown to JLF conversion shaft is hollow, but the clicking feedback from the microswitches feels much more pronounced. Really good if you want to play close to the actuation range.
Is there anywhere to buy additional grommets for the 309MJ?

Picked up the Crown 45A grommet for my 309MJ. Feels really good for 1P wavedashing, awful for everything else.
Could you elaborate? Is it just too stiff? Mine is arriving today and I’m not sure if I’ll even bother putting it on. I don’t know why I even bought it. I have zero issues and love my current setup of 120g panasonics, sanwa conversion shaft, and 25A grommet for the 309 MJ.

@zero_requiem i cant find you on steam with that name
Odd it should work. Pm me you account details and up add you when I get home from work tonight.
@stringfellow fair enough. I believe I found a set up that has ridiculous cd speed on taeyoung lastnight. I’m using 3 am5s with 1 a2 for down input, stock grommet, 9mm golden fanta shaft with 15mm actuator. It’s just as fast as the fujin if not faster but with the lighter tension I don’t get tired very easily which is nice.
