Korean arcade parts discussion

damn, reading about Korean levers being prone to faulty parts kinda sucks. I just ordered a 309mj which should come soon and I’m really excited to finally try a Korean lever. hopefully mine is fine.

Anyone have any ideas as to how acquire a set of Panasonic switches that does not involve importing a lever from Korea? FA had a set of them available at one point but I ended up getting new 32s by mistake with none left in stock.

I just got my mj and it is fantastic. i can’t wait to get the golden mod and really start tweaking it out.

Sorry man! I took the last 3 that we’re on fa lol. There is a place in Europe called smallcab.net that has a bunch of them but prices are in euros which is quite expensive. The Panasonic switches sold are the softer old seitmitsu switches which are not the same as the ones that come with the fujin/airbag /crown 309(older versions).

Bah. 32 buxs to ship out to the US. Ah well cant be helped, thanks for the heads up on the site!

@N7Khan no worries. It was more expensive for me to order from them since I have to convert the Euros to cad lol.

The kaze lever and the crown 309 help me are definitely worth their money, the help me lever’s movement and the feeling of when you hit the gates feels so easy to hit when you’re doing electrics or wavedashing without any usage of strong hand movement on 1p side and 2p side, The kaze lever on the other hand feels kind of the same but a bit easier than the help me lever when you are wavedashing. The fanta Airbag lever has really good consistency and it also has a softer make stick silicone. Another thing which was weird is that the 3 of the microswitches inside the kaze lever which are up, right and down are the same and the last microswitch to move back is a gersung microswitch https://gyazo.com/7c323029898b831548facd4ec5d2c212

This picture should work now

I got the Fanta Airbag lever and the Kaze lever from etokki, I searched up everywhere to find these two levers but they were out of stock even at istmall and makestick , I emailed one of the colleagues at etokki and it was in stock, these two levers are not available of the etokki website. I didn’t what the kaze lever was till a month ago lol until I was watching the famous mishima player Qudans on Twitch where he recommended me this lever and said it’s really good

@NabeelRobinson that gersung is supposed to be the up direction to avoid accidental up inputs.

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback. Haven’t really heard much in terms of reviews for the kaze lever. The reasoning behind having a different micro switch for the kaze lever is for quicker inputs for down which in turn will result in faster wavedashes and kbd. Not surprised that the kaze lever gives the best speed since it has 3 tiny holes drilled on the grommet for all cardinal directions. Hmm is the grommet on the fanta airbag by any chance red and very soft? Is the actuator a different size from stock myoungshin’s? I’m very curious about what exactly is different about it other than the grommet, switch support and masushita microswitches. If that’s all that’s different about it then I can make that stick easily since I have a few of those red grommets lying around.

I was effected by the same mixup, and emailed FA. It took a while due to Jenni being on vacation and not being able to check the warehouse, but I just got an email saying she found some Panasonic switches and they’re on the way now. You might want to email FA and see if they can find any.

If not, Paradise Arcade has JMS Crown levers in stock, which might be slightly cheaper than ordering microswitches from Europe or Korea. You have the 309MJ right? Order a JMS Helpme and you’d get a 35A grommet as well.

Damn that’s very lucky that you were able to get them from etokki. I’m starting to believe that the kaze lever is even more rare than the fujin v2. Personal favorite atm is the fujin for mishimas since wave dashing and electrics come some easy with the switches being so close together. 1 problem I’ve been noticing with it is it’s really hard doing instant running moves at close range.

Hey Guys!

I received the Golden Fanta Mod Kit today from @wazwuz . I am very excited to try out the mods, but I have a few questions:
[] Am I missing a fourth shaft, actuator and dustwasher?
[
] Was I supposed to receive a light blue silicone 55? The stock rubber in the Myoungshin Fanta is too stiff for Tekken, so I was looking to try this one.
[] What are the measurements of the shaft, actuators and dustwashers (I noticed the dust washer has different size holes)?
[
] What is the hardness of the white silicone (in the photo)?

What does the other plate do (the one labeled as “??” in the photo attached).
What is the stock hardness for:
[] stock Myoungshin Fanta?
[
] stock Taeyoung Fanta (received from Etokki (latest version this year) – I noticed it is softer than the Myoungshin and it feels “buttery” and just right in terms of tension.
[] stock Soft Fanta Rubber (from Etokki for Taeyoung Fanta)
[
] stock Medium Fanta Rubber (from Etokki for Taeyoung Fanta)
@wazwuz I am interested in purchasing your Golden Crown Mod Kit too. Are you still making revisions to it?

Thanks in advance for your responses!

I’ve had a taeyoung fanta for like a week now and there is a noticeable wobble and I can press in on the stick like a analog stick on a controller, is that normal or am I being too rough with my stick? I can send a video if this post doesn’t make sense, Thanks guys.

Sorry @wazwuz for not giving the review on the golden Fanta mod. I will state it here . Plus I want to address the samducksa SDL-301-DX aka the Infiltration joystick but I’ll that after my review on the golden Fanta.

What can I say about the golden Fanta ? I f’n love it! I used every shaft , actuator & grommet to figure out which suits best for me. I ended up with the shaft with the ability to a shaft cover (which I don’t) , the biggest actuator & the dark blue grommet. I rig up the upper section on a crown 301 to work with my myounfin Fanta joystick so I didn’t need to drill a bigger hole on my case nor did I need to use a different mounting bracket. It’s perfect for me but I’m missing the ocotgate but hopefully I or one of us here will come up with a way to use those kinds of gates. Great job I @wazwuz for the making this .

Now to the samducksa SD-301-DX. Not bad at all & I like the extra grommets that you can get with it but my problem is that I don’t need two circle gates. The joystick is suppose to have a circle gate & a square gate , I didn’t receive the square gate but two circle gates. I don’t know how to get this resolved but Looks like I’ll be putting this stick away and not use it till I get my square gate. Bummer too because I like it.

Since I already am using my Fanta joystick with the golden Fanta mod, there isn’t a need to my new Infiltration joystick.

There ya have it

@LLLLLFiVEL5L I think what they meant was a “circle-square” gate which is really an octogate.

Let me know if you plan on selling it

@“Banzai Ryusan”

Yo! The golden fanta kit only comes with 3 shafts and 3 actuators. The clear grommet is 35A shore hardness and the sky blue grommets (50A) no longer come with the kit. Actuator sizes are 15.5mm, 16mm and 16.5mm and shaft sizes are 8mm, 9mm and 10mm. There is a ton of info for golden fanta with thought processes about why everything is done the way it is in previous pages. As for grommet hardness you can’t really compare the silicone to the stock myoungshin/taeyoung since they don’t feel the same so even though u match the hardness it’s not equal. Golden fanta has bigger holes which means that diagonals are easier to hit but on stock fanta the holes are tiny and don’t go though all the way. The plate that has the question mark is for bottom switch support under your micro switches. The switches don’t sit properly on the myoungshin. Dark blue grommet isn’t 60 it’s actually 55. The fourth actuator you are looking for will most likely be in the golden fanta finished product. With that said I don’t know if Wazwuz is planning on replacing one of the existing actuators to make a total of 3 or going with 4. Hope I helped so little although I’m pretty clueless about what the hardness of the grommets you mentioned lol. I just know what they feel like.

I’ve posted here some weeks ago that I’m expecting the Korean Edition of the Etokki Omni, which now comes with the Taeyoung Fanta.

I already have it for a couple days and I must say the Taeyoung stick is great. Gone is the super-stiffness that Taeyoung used to have before (good for arcades I guess, but not for a home controller). It’s stiff enough, so it feels right, but you hand won’t fall off after two days of playing. It’s becoming to feel very natural to use.

Crap, wish I looked at that sooner before ordering a set of six switches from europe for seven dollars more. Ah well too late now.
