Korean arcade parts discussion

I haven’t received reports of the Helpme model having diagonal control issues with the A2 versus the 309MJ. That said, can anyone confirm or refute this?

In my experience, since the radius of the collar is smaller on the 309mj you have to travel further up or down to activate the second switch to make a diagonal input. This is only an issue when doing wave dash or backdash type motions. I find the 309mj to have a larger diagonal area when doing OTGF or JSFR inputs making them easier to execute. There isn’t really an issue imo, just personal preference or something you have to get used to. The 309 help me lever has a larger radius collar so you have more room to float in the sweet spot of the grommet and activate the second switch to make a diagonal input. I prefer A2 switches, even on the 309mj.

Thanks for the review!
It really makes me wonder how it would feel with a stiffer grommet.

i was watching the tekken world tour event yesterday and was wondering if anyone had information on this particular case. i saw one in red as well. markman mentioned that they are used locally but i definitely want to buy one if they’re available somewhere

Yes. actually right now I’m testing 45 silicone gromments without spring and works good.

btw I use 309 without collar model, it seems have shorter throw than myoungshin, does the chopped collar 309 also have shorter throw than myoungshin?

IF Stick by IO Lab. Specifically IF Stick F model.

I believe Choksae’s stick (first pic) is sort of modded to accept a normal Korean lever hence the green Myoungshin Fanta lever. Likely drilled in a 35mm hole to the stick’s main panel as well as made a custom mounting plate since the IF Sticks are made for Sanwa JLF and Crown’s Japanese-mounted levers.

hello, I want a golden crown set.
also, let me know what the shipping cost is for Greece (I’m getting it regardless)

edit
I have in my posession a 309MJ and a 309FJ with THAI switches + a set of gersungs
I intend to provide feedback as well as an extensive review of the set

I am also interested in a golden fanta set if you come around to making more of those

@wazwuz if there’s still room I’d love a Golden Crown set!

Been trying the golden fanta kit out with the 8mm shaft, 15.5mm actuator, 55 shore grommet with switch support and for some reason I can’t imitate the precision that I have on my fujin v2. With the fujin I’ve been practicing real hard on the 1 player side to get EWGF and wave dashing to be on par with 2 player side and it’s getting real close. The more and more set ups I try with golden fanta I feel like my execution worsens on 1 side but is better on the other which doesn’t make sense to me. Like I can electric all day on 2p side but not 1p then I switch set up and it will reverse. With the fujin v2 i can play only using micro switches and never touching the gate but the moment I put on a super light grommet I feel the need to somewhat ride the gate. Does anyone else get this feeling?

Got the Golden Fanta set in last week, I’ve experimented with it a lot of the past few days with Tekken 7. Here’s what I’ve found works best for my playing style with a Myoungshin Fanta:

green 45 grommet / 10mm shaft / 15.5mm actuator + switch support installed + Gersung A3 switches

I’m pretty slow and probably don’t have the best accuracy, so I tend to rely on riding the collar a lot while making inputs. Using the combination of the largest shaft with the smallest actuator allows me to hit the the collar sooner, but still maintain a decent amount of deadzone.

A few notes on individual parts:

grommets – I started out with the blue 55 grommet, and my Mishima crouch dashes and back dash cancels immediately improved thanks to the quick return to neutral. However, after an hour or so of playing my hand got tired and started dropping a lot of inputs. I switched to the green 45 and can now play for hours, but my CDs and BDCs aren’t as good. Would have like to try to the sky blue 50 as an in-between, but that wasn’t part of the batch I received. I’ll likely be working my way up back to the blue 55 as I do like it’s stiffness.

switch support – as previously reported in this thread, I too noticed that the switches are pushed inwards when installed. I didn’t really notice a difference with in on or off, so I just kept it on. There did seem to be an excess of plastic material on the Fanta base where the switch screw holes were. I’ve thought about shaving it off with an hobby knife to see if that allows the switches to level out. Ultimately, some kind of spacer to sit underneath the switches to keep them level (like the Airbag mode uses) is the best solution.

microswitches – I tested using the old Panasonics, A2s from a new Crown (with straight hinges), A2s from a new Myoungshin Fanta (with bent hinges), and A3s. I ultimately settled on the A3s, probably because I went with the green grommet. The green grommet and the A2s felt too light. Maybe a stiffer grommet would feel better with the lighter switches.

Overall, the quality of the set is top notch. All the brass parts were well-machined and fit together very nicely. All of the slop in the stick when it’s in neutral is completely removed – nothing feels loose, everything feels tight.

Right now it’s my favorite stick to play with, the action feels like a definite upgrade over the Crown 309Helpme with Panasonic switches. However, the build quality of the stock Myoungshin Fanta is pretty crappy – there’s noticeable excess flashing and fitment issues. The Crown seems of better quality from the factory, so I look forward to getting a Golden Crown set installed and doing some more testing!

@wazwuz Add me to that list if possible been waiting on this one.

Important Update,

I just remember that Acrylic support plate I made is based on Crown ( I design it years ago for 303). although it can be installed on myoungshin, it will tilt the switch because apparently myoungshin have slightly different switch hole placement (wider).
I will make the revision design this weekend, I think the support plate under the switch (like fujin) will be better for myounghin, what do you think?

as for now, the support plate I provide for Fanta is perfectly fits on Crown 309.

I’m sorry for this inconvenience, thank you for your feedback/report for this issue.

@wazwuz
add me to the list if there’s still room, thanks

@wazwuz I’d be interested in the golden fanta too
