has someone played blaz or guilty gear in a korean laer ?iv recently ordered a myoungshin fanta, andim scared that its unconfortable to play with it, i mean blaz requieres a high executionlevel, and with the “longer” activation timeand no gate, i dont know if its gonna play well
Yes I did go from something heavy and tested different springs and mods, tested j sticks with hinge levers and such before moving onto a fanta as I was confused myself because people were always saying fanta’s were pretty stiff or felt like a tank etc…so it made me always assume it was close to a 4lb spring before I got It.
I’m really just wondering if anyone can compare a 4lb spring to the fujin in terms of stiffness as the 4lb spring was way too heavy for long sessions since I can’t really compare it to other grommets because I’m still pretty new to k sticks in general.
Like with the fanta, I could basically use my fingers mostly to hit the microswitches. But with a 4lb spring? I had to use my wrist like a mf to hit the microswitches.
I’m just really wondering if the fujin was still light enough to the point where u can still just tap ur fingers like that of a stock myoungshin to actuate the microswitches rather than letting the wrist do most of the work.
Hey guys, recently got my 309mj. Played tekken since launch and is my first tekken. Have close to perfected doing wavedashes and kbd on both sides on a hori hayabusa with LS spring which is abit tighter than stock (cannot remember which model, but it is slightly black)
tried the 309mj with stock grommet was quite good but was looking for something with abit more tension, but after literally 5 minutes i was able to do everything seemlessly with much less effort and more fluid (including electrics and dash electrics) than my hayabusa. After putting in the blue crown grommet from Waz, i had already found my perfect setup but i only have one problem. If i let the lever bounce (instead of guiding it) back to neutral, it hits the opposite direction. It does it for both left/right and up/down. I like execution heavy characters in sf4 like e.ryu, viper and fuerte so tekken movement was something i practiced alot from the go. Definetly found sidestepping easier on the 309Mj.
Any recommendations of what i can do?
It came witht he v16 3a2 switches and i find these perfectly fine. I did get the JLF conversion shaft (to put a clear battop) but noticed it felt abit different (put them side by side and it was more longer) so i didn’t use it. Stuck with stock because it felt more natural to my older sticks. I am also using the spring that came with the stock grommet.
Cheers
EDIT: i’ve tried a more stiffer grommet and it seems to have somewhat solve the problem. This was a stiffer grommet from MAKESTICK (havent tried Waz red one yet), cannot remember the shore as i didn’t even get a confirmation email or anything when they sent it off, but it was the toughest one (i think 55). It is abit too stiff, the blue was perfect. After more use i am noticing something abit funky with the diagonal (all grommet), especially for dash electrics (normal electrics usually fine) but don’t know how to describe. I’m getting d jab alot more. It could be my lack of adaption to k sticks and just need more time.
tried the green crown grommet was too light for me and was getting the ‘bounce problem’ more. Haven’t tried with the stock grommet (lazy), but as it is a lower shore than the green, i would think that i would have more problem.
I’m using a 55A shore grommet atm on the 309mj and I find the a2’s work perfectly fine. Tons of ppl having problems hitting diagonals but I’m doing electrics all day with the a2’s. Been used to using joystcks with heavier tension since using the sanwa jlf so it’s tricky using the stock 309 grommet . The d+2 I believe is from holding down too long before the df +2. It happens to me every now and then when I use my fujin v2 and that is because it’s a super grommet. If you look at the input data when u do the d+2 when trying to do electrics It will most likely have 1 extra down displayed. Just gotta get used to it n it happens to pros all the time in tourneys when u see them wave dash into d+2 it’s a missed input.
@zero_requiem yeah I was checking my inputs, im still hitting the diagonal, but just pressing the punch too early. I might bump up the shore eventually but really loving the feel of the K sticks, I’m converted. Just need more time
Edit: the maksestick grommet is a different material and abit thicker, but for the crown I think the dark blue should be the same shore but does feel more loose. I will try the red grommet next.
i played tekken last night for the first time with a golden fanta. took me like 5mins to get used to doing ewgf. im using A2s and i can do them almost everytime if i slap f, then once i hear it hit the colloar i do df+2 and it will come out. thats the only thing that works me. it was weird cause i was used to moving the jlf back to neutrual.
Did you use your switch support? Got my golden fanta in today but the switch support doesn’t line up. I find I’m forcing the screws in and when they are fully tightened the switches aren’t straight because it doesn’t go down far enough. Anyone else have this problem with the golden fanta kit? Might have to go back to the custom switch support I made.
Anyone else having issues installing the golden fanta switch support? It doesn’t line up properly and even tho I force it all the way down the switches aren’t parallel to the switch support.
what batch of golden fanta you order? we have 3 batch of golden fanta for the moment.
have you try to install it?. sometimes the switch is not totally perpendicular without support, so it will look not align.
please try this method, unscrew all, put on the support. then install the all screw (the longer one inside the kit), then tighten up all at once (I mean, don’t thighten one when the other still loose)
I got the third batch of golden Fanta. I tightened all screws down gradually while alernating which ensures that every screw is even. I tightened as far as I could go and the switches weren’t straight. If you look at the pictures there’s a substantial gap between the switches, switch support and Fanta body. Before I installed it I held the switch support over the switches and I could already tell that it wouldn’t line up properly.
It has a larger neutral zone compared to those. It also has a relatively larger travel zone where the Myoungshin and 309 have shorter ones. Without the shaft cover, you get a bigger zone. Also without the shaft, you will notice the actuator interacting with the secondary gate on the bottom. The production demo model I used had a light grommet so it felt a bit flimsy but I hope the release models, with harder grommets, help out.
I assume the release date applies mainly for Korea so expect sales outside the country to come weeks later. Little bit weird for Infiltration to market it the way he is doing but English isn’t his forte so I can forgive him.
