Korean arcade parts discussion

Guys,

I hope you can bear with me @Jenni as we get through support tickets related to the A2/A3. Since posting here I’ve been getting support emails asking to swap. I don’t have the switches yet, and since I only asked for them yesterday, do not yet have an ETA when they will arrive.

Chanel got his TE2 stick Korean ready and we get a good idea on how it’s done!

Also Green Game Land lever!

Quick question regarding the 309 switch situation going on atm. I know that the Japanese version was using Panasonic switches, but now theres a discussion going on regarding swap over to A2s/A3s. I wanted to ask if the Korean version, 309 HelpMe, was also using Panasonic switches and are these levers affected as well ? I thought 309 HelpMe was always using A2s, no ?

Really? I dont think it’s the A2 switches as they feel very close to something i’ve always wanted where the switches hardly takes any force to push, these are the stock switches on the myoungshin fanta ive received. It must be the design of the stick your using thats not working well with the A2’s.

Also, as i get used to using the fanta using different grips (been over a month and a half) it really feels like the grommet itself acts as a gate for me since the grommet only starts to get stiffer as soon as it reaches the point of activation on the A2’s. Although i would prefer if the deadzone point of the grommet was a bit stiffer, does anyone know if the golden fanta grommets are stiff all around? or is it very similar to the myoungshin where the deadzone area is less stiff than the activation point?

I have a 309-Helpme with AM5-1630C69N switches which I believe are Panasonic? If I wanted to try a Kaze mod, what kind of switch would be best?

Yup they are Panasonic switches so you can keep em on. The Kaze V2 up switch I have is a Gersung GSM-V1623A3. My Help Me V2 has mostly GSM-V0323A3 switches with up being a GSM-V1623A2.

Just got my 309 MJ today. I have to say, it definitely does feel looser than the modded 303 FK that I had been using. But after trying out for about an hour in different games, I’m really liking the stick. Just got to get used to it for a little bit more time.

The 309 Helpme that I got had the Japanese Panasonic switches.
If I got the time, I’ll drop it in my case and try my Gersung GSM-V1623A2’s and GSM-V0323A3’s on it.
Let you guys know some feedback.

I agree. I don’t have the Japanese mount 309, but if the only difference is the collar between that and the Helpme version, then when I put A2’s in it I’ll hopefully see where these fellas are coming from. My opinion, I like A2’s. I remember when it was part of “fanta crown upgrade”. Weren’t people reporting that the A3’s in their 303 wasn’t hitting corners and it got better when they bought the “fanta crown upgrade” that came with A2’s? I remember when people said their corners felt nonexistent on their 307 and getting the fanta crown upgrade helped. Does anyone know if the bottom mold on a 303 the same as a 309 (I know colors are different [blue=303/ black=309])? Just curious.

I feel like on my golden fanta grommets, it’s stiff all around. It’s more apparent starting on my light blue grommet, and definitely noticeable on dark blue and red grommets.

Awesome, thanks. Conveniently, A2s are the only switch I can find being sold on their own.

Yesterday I heve meet Knee and give him a set of golden fanta. He doesn’t talk much english, so it is hard for me to have disscusion with him. Hopefully he will try it and give feedback to us.

Then Saint came along to my booth and thank me for the golden fanta I sent to him.

Saint told me that he doesn’t have enogh time to try golden fanta due to his tournament schedule.
The funt part begins, then he to try our golden fanta at my booth dan giving me alot of feedback.

Saint is a moder, he told me that he always changing his k stick part to try every possible combination (and JDCR will use the same as what Saint use). And I saw him, constantly adjusting his stick almost after every match.

We have long discussion. And he is sharing his experience to me, I got so many input from him regarding to K stick, his preference of k stick and the history of k stick. I will share it to you guys latter after the abuget tournament.

He said that my stick is good (green silicone, 8mm shaft, 16mm actuator), he like it, and the stick heigt is perfect (he mount his k stick on his phantera too deep so the collar is flat to the top panel). Then I decide to give my stick so he can learn it when back to korea and give me insight about it, he was excited and ask my signature on the stick I gave him.

Today is the second day tournament, hopefully I can learn more about K stick. Saint experience is very helpfull for golden project
I also have my hand on R-tech green lever, but nothing special.

Wow! I he really modded his stick.

awesome stuff waz hope the insight improves the steam with future projects
also whats the body saint is using with his 309 there looks like some frankenstien mod?

@wazwuz Do you guys actually sell that stick that you gave to Saint? cause I really want one too!

@wazwuz that’s awesome that you actually had one-on-one time with Saint. And that he was willing to give you some feedback on your golden fanta parts.

I personally use the Light blue grommet / 8 mm shaft / 15.5 mm actuator/ Gersung A2’s. I’m a fan of this setup. I don’t think I noticed light blue in your latest batch.

If I use the stock lever, light blue doesn’t feel like it’s enough. I think the stock lever is heavier than the 8 mm shaft, so maybe dark blue grommet would compliment stock lever? Haven’t tried it yet. But with 8mm shaft, light blue grommet is light enough for lots of movement, but heavy enough in resistance for say, consistent dashing moves or iWR moves (in tekken)

I like the sensitivity of A2’s , but if you use stock actuator, the chances of accidental input seems higher, so I started with the smallest actuator and haven’t felt a need to try 16mm yet.

I can’t wait till you one day have your own lever @wazwuz. Your cases look awesome too btw.

I’m definitely having issues hitting diagonals with the 309mj. Hopefully FA gets the A3 switches in stock soon.

Can some of you describe the scenario where you are having your diagonal issues? Like say: in Tekken, with Law… you’re trying to do his slide. Or qcf motions with Paul. Wavedashes or ewgfs not working with a Mishima. Just curious.

I don’t have the MJ but I got the Helpme version. I dropped some A2’s in it. Haven’t had the chance yet to try it out in gameplay, but want to try what you guys are doing and see if I get same results.

Literally just hitting a diagonal. Like a df+2. The activation between f and d is so narrow I’m mostly getting d+2 or f+2. Like I have to be looking at the stick and focusing on hitting df for it to come out, and even then its not consistent. I have the Japanese mount version, not the Helpme. I had to put my ls32 back in my stick cause it was so frustrating to deal with. I didn’t have these issues using my friends Etokki Korean edition stick, which is why I bought the Crown in the first place, to mess with a Korean style joystick. I’ll get some A3 switches when FA has them in stock again and see how much of a difference it makes.

Yeah man, with crown’s you gotta put some"umph" into it. Almost like your going to be hitting the gate a lot. A stock Myoungshin (idk which fanta your friend had) reminds me of a JLF in a way. In terms of just going up to actuation point and not really having to ride the gate or putting a lot into your throw for your inputs. Even crowns with the Panasonic switches. My 309 helpme version came with them, and I still be hitting the gate on the top collar way more than I ever did with my myoungshin.

I’ve been having the exact same issue with small diagonals on the 309-KMS-ST25 I ordered from FA a few weeks back. Since the A3 switches are currently out of stock I came up with a temporary solution.
What I did was I took some heat shrink tubing, cut a piece approximately 2 cm in length, then placed it over the actuator. This in turn makes the switches activate sooner, thus increasing the range the diagonals come out. It’s a temporary fix, but it does help in increasing the diagonal rage from 10% to around 30, give or take. Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoy using the lever.
