Korean arcade parts discussion

Will you sell Crown grommets separately? If not, I still might be interested in a Golden Crown set. Is it too late?

@lolmark this link shows the switch you have on the crown and the fanta switch which is a A2

Those are actually the Panasonic masushita switches. I believe focus attack sells them and make stick as well. These Thailand switches are more sensitive compared to the gersungs. You could buy the extra gersungs and only use the top one and leave the rest. Apparently gives better balance which I’m using right now. With the gersung on top it is actually for down since it’s inverted in-game.

Brass is more stiff, and bronze have self lubricating properties, each material have their own purpose.
Even without collar, crown shaft still hit the body to limit the throw distance (gate). So shaft cover is not possible on it.

Golden crown is not finished yet. I still havent make the mold for the new grommets

I’m also interested in a Golden Crown set. Is the batch you’re working on all reserved already?

Just wondering with the Golden fanta grommets do you need to take out that circle thing in the middle of a normal fanta rubber and install it , like with the Crown60A rubber from focus attack

You have to do that with any grommet for any Korean stick afaik.

This thing is what im talking about http://oi66.tinypic.com/2ailr36.jpg

I knew what you were talking about…I ve done it when I was trying golden fanta shafts/grommets. Its not that hard to do.Crowns have a similar piece.

I’m actually surprised your the first person to ask that. No one has actually given any instructions as far as I remember. I was talking to @agieze about something similar with the V2 HelpMe… It would make sense for someone to make a video tutorial HINT HINT.

@wazwuz, is there a date for when the official releases are or are we still testing new ideas?

I look forward to seeing some Golden Crown mods. I can’t remember who mentioned it but it would be very helpful if there was marking on the grommets as to their stiffness. Maybe not as important for the other parts as you can differentiate sizes by sight but that would be useful too

I was just thinking about the kaze and the HelpMe V2. I don’t know what switches they each use as of writing this but if you think about it the only real change is softer or harder LEFT and RIGHT switches. Each one has a SOFTER BOTTOM and HARDER TOP. To try out the differences you only need to buy a set of softer switches for left and right to see how the kaze approached this idea.

@Agieze mentioned to me that you really only pay for a few changed switches. Is it going to cost $40 dollars for different micro switches? In some circumstances you only need to change a single A3 to A2. I gues purple is worth the added cost for a new 309 HelpMe for anyone that already owns one.

the grommets ive bought off laugh in the past , always came with that already inside in the rubber

How are the diagonals on the Crown 309MJ KMS ST25? I currently have a 307 KMS ST in my HRAP and while down diagonals are fine, up diagonals require a bit of precision. Hoping a 309 will be an upgrade in terms of evening things out

Guys, replacing the grommet can’t be easier, it’s been explained many times, even webshops tell you how to remove the central plastic sleeve : you just need to stretch the grommet enough , the sleeve pops loose when pressing on it, a child can do it.
putting a new grommet is the other way around, stretch it then squeeze the spool shaped sleeve back in.

@ProgressiveBalance
Wawuz’ grommets follow a color code for shore hardness, unlike the grommets from Crown.

has anyone tried cutting the collar down on a myoungshin and swap the mounting plate for a jlf one? Isn’t this how IST makes their FLF myoungshins?

Been using a Helpme V2 lever and while the purple top is cool, the changes done to the switches and maybe the seemingly lighter silicone grommet probably ain’t gonna convince people to switch over from a normal 309. With the limited availability, I don’t think it’s necessarily a must buy. If you have a 309 and some Gersung switches (especially the set from Helpme V2), you might get similar results.

As for using the Taeyoung Fanta lever, I inserted my Fujin V2 top and shaft to it and damn it feels really good. I also added the light green Golden Fanta grommet and while it’s sort of loose, my backdash cancelling is a lot better and my hand isn’t aching at all after prolonged use. Also when using the Golden Fanta 8mm shaft, it feels like using the 7mm shaft with a Myoungshin (basically Green Game Land lever action). I did some measurements and since the Taeyoung’s funnel is wider by a MM more, Myoungshin is 21mm, I can compensate with the 8mm shaft.

Wasn’t able to get the Green lever this Evo unfortunately because of working at Arcade Shock and SPLITFRAME. I probably could have convinced Nin, not Knee because he was in top 8, with a lot of money if I went to Tekken Casino but I was too tired every day there. I did try Gen1us’ Green lever and I checked his model and his actuator is plastic like the old Magiclab Airbag levers. Might have been before the metal actuator. Also saw Cyrox’s Fujin V1 lever and it had the thinner shaft like the Green lever which was fascinating.

I have seen a post on Korean interwebs on someone doing that. Also no, the FLF uses a custom mold.

They feel fine on my model. I think you will probably be fine with it.

idk if i would want to cut to collar off

Not fully reserved.

Yes, you can use the stock core

Since I use the same mold to produce all the grommets, instead marking, I use color code for hardness just as we did in polymer industries.

Anybody know what’s the difference between the golden fanta and the airbag lever from makestick?

The “golden fanta” is parts made by @wazwuz to tweak/modify a myoungshin fanta to kind of have “your own fanta” to your liking. Comes with various grommets, shafts, actuators, and switch plate support.

An airbag fanta is a lever based on the Myoungshin fanta with mods differing from the stock version such as: slightly lighter grommet, different microswitches, switch plate support.
