I’d put Gai/Clark at 5.5:4.5, Gai/Griffon slightly more skewed and Ramon isn’t a fair fight at all for Ramon. You have to fight them all significantly differently though. Appart from the obvious; Duck and Kim are his worst fights.

Wait, since when is Hayate so hard to use?

I find Hayate pretty easy to use. Its Ozzy and Gato that gets me in terms of difficulty of use. Its not like theres anything complicated you do with boomerang anyways. >_>

Anyways I think I’ve got my permanent team: Momoko, K’, Adel(L).

I dunno. I think Clark is up there with Kim for worst matchup. Clark’s numerous command grabs kill any of Gai’s options pertaining to sway and frog stances (Gai is easily thrown out of either), and he also has much better priority, so unless I’m missing something important (which is entirely possible), Gai has almost nothing to fight him with.

Kim isn’t so bad if you factor in that his stance mixups are still viable, but Kim can just zone the fuck out of him with hyperhop E all day.

No other character with the exception of Gato can fight Clark at that range so Gai shouldn’t even try. Instead just keep it simple, s/c.A and suprisingly backfist are really good in this matchup. Damage racks up a lot quicker than you think while you keep him out. And just don’t do anything stupid like swaying if you get knocked down. Blocking then reacting like any other character is what you do. You do more damage to him if he screws up than the reverse. So it is just a case of not screwing up (getting hurricaranaed) several times in a row.

You can’t play that game vs Griffon since he does the s/c.A better than you so you basically have to stay above him whenever possible.

hmmm… Gai has problems fighting the bigger sized characters too imo.
Maxima, Griffon and Silber comes into mind.

Griffon kills Gai. Better stand/down A, better stand C, better sweep, better aerial priority… etc. Gai needs to do so much just to keep in range. Griffon has to do so little to stay out of it. XD

I wonder if you can Hayate out while he vanishes like that with fireballs that go off screen with off screen. Maybe if it is hayate vs hayate you can throw his boomerang and hit him?

when you use that glitch, you cant use hayate’s ground based specials/dms until you get hit. still very bannable stuff as its just as bad as a gambit glitch in mvc2.

Well after giving Malin a try, I like her lock down capability, is there anything I should know that is special? like is she worth leadering?

And about how to get in between that safe lockdown they have to Emergency Escape in between it to get anything done…

Lost ALOT of games with Hayate today. You REALLY need to control the airspace with him to be successful. I always pair him with Gato or Ash to build meter for him to waste later on.

Jazu has corner-raping possiblities with St.E spammage. It does pretty good damage for a normal move. QCB+P in the corner does RETARDED chip damage, usually enough to kill somebody which takes care of turlers often times.

I dare say that Silver’s worst matchup is Kensou. Fireballs stop his flying kick plus you can’t charge DB while blocking cause you’ll get command-grabbed into tag combo, I think Kensou can out poke Silver too…

i just tried the glitch today and you can still use your ground based specials and DM.

heres the glitch.

start with hayate

  1. throw an air boomerang and tag out before the boomerang reaches back.
  2. with your secondary character, do a QS combo back to hayate and make him hit his opponent.
  3. jump out of the screen gambit glitch style.

^ Wow that sounds almost TOO easy to do. I could do Jazu’s QCB+P on block or whatever than QS to Hayate and float around for the rest of the match lolz.

EDIT: In the vid Hayate doesn’t hit Kim after QS-ing in he just jumps out. So reqirement 2 is half-right.
