KOF XI Thread :: Ver 2.0

actually she’s got short short which rocks, and cr. FP which is pretty good. I believe st.FP links into it as well. UMMM yeah her other combos are a little low damage, which is the real problem.

why we don’t leave movesets for faqs and wikis and start talking in deep about strategies?

first topic 'handle a god tier’
chapter one 'KGOE’
let’s start discussing on how to deal with gato, kula oswald and eiji

do you like the idea?

mmm the idea is pretty cool. OH I just wanted to post this combo or actually combos because I think they are cool.

Kasumi - these are all corner or near corner only
a,c xx qcf+c qcb+a - you can juggle with any special after her jab, fierce chain, but doing into qcf=c gets you the most damage, and then just tack on her juggle anywhere throw for some added fun!

c xx f+a xx qcb,f+a, qcf+c, qcb+a. Similar combo but this time off her bnb, best thing to do in the corner, probably the most damaging thing she has except for quick switches, you could also switch the qcf+c for st.D but whatevs it’s the same damage.

Kasumi + Duck(L) (best if done near corner may work outside of corner but I didn’t test that.
The first part of this combo is just speculation as I had a heck of a time getting the second part off but I’m pretty sure it should work.
Duck - j.D cr.a,cr.a,st.b,f+c xx shift(kasumi) j.d, st.c xx f+a xx qcb,f+a xx shift(duck)
tiger knee ldm after you land! Man this combo is really stylish if you get it, sure it’s just for showing off, but man doing this into the tk’d ldm is just too cool! Oh like I said the first quick switch part I just put on there as a supposed, I’m sure it works but goddamn, the combo takes forever to do by hand as I keep fucking up the tk’d super! Anyway maybe someone better with the command record can do it, it’s sweet.

Edit: Another way to land Athena LDM!!! 75%! 2 power no skill!
Okay I don’t know if people knew this one, but here you go, there are two ways to do it midscreen or corner
Midscreen - C or D xx f+b xx qcb+b, LDM - this is a link not a super cancel, you must cancel from the first hit of the forward b, but you must not do it immediately or else the opponent will be pushed to far back, if you get four hits instead of three out of the first part of the combo you know your doing it right. After the qcb+b just do the ldm, the timing is tight but I think with practice you’ve got a practical bnb right here!

Corner - C or D xx f+b xx qcb+b, ldm - same thing except in the corner it’s even easier as you can wait for the second hit of the f+b to cancel to the qcb+b this pushes athena closer which is the important part to linking the super as it hits faster closer to her it would seem! Okay so yeah another way to land athena super and you don’t even need skill stock! much better than the super cancel from the qcb+d.

Oscar…I got your back…don’t worry…I will be the one to take over…:nunchuck:

Yes off a QS IMO is where Athena with LDm does the most damage.

Well lets start talking about how to make the best out of Whip…since we all agree now she is the worst character in the game…

whip does suck all tyes of bloody hell…
before we dicuss the handling of god tier we need to fill the damn wiki!..
OK, god tier, I don’t play many Gatos, but after watching vids and using him myself, WTF do you do against Gato on wake-up…the man just has so many options, what’s the safest option.

hheheheheh i play against a good gato every day…
and i’m not using high ranked tiers beside Kim

dealing with gato using ash is a real pain

i’ll share some strats when i’ll be back home

feel free to discuss yours…

Uh. Maybe try to roll when you wake up if he does a special or probably just block. I don’t think trying to anti-air with anything except maybe a weaker uppercut for people that aren’t Sho will really work unless he’s being stupidly aggressive.

Catty EDIT: Then again, I know nothing since the only good Gato I’ve played was Ouroburos on fucked up sticks that had him at disadvantage.

Speaking of which, ye gods, I was so damned rusty on Tuesday. I tried Kasumi again though, and she does indeed seem better than I thought. I think I’m going to continue try and using her or maybe try and learn Momoko or try to get (much) better with Elizabeth.

Yes try rolling or block or back roll, or a Anti air normal that keeps you on the ground,

Or also try doing this,

tap back to downback repeatedly until you discover what hes doing…

This will buy you time to see if he’s going high or low and react accordingly…

Its what I do and how I stop HH/empty HH/low options.

I thought rolling would work but when i was playing my cousin when he tried to roll, I used qcb+b, C. The stomp hit him when he was behind me then the kick combo on some weird slow shit where i was still behind him so i followed with a cr. b qcfx2 P…Gato is really fucked up, it doesn’t seem right to use him sometimes, like Cable.

i played gato somewhat
if they whore out hopmixups i say if u have a good AA use it
like kulas ldm will punish
but for the most part block low

True…the only thing to counter blocking low is his command grab…which you can see him do…but Muff is right…a well timed AA will snuff most of his stuff.

It will be worthless … the KOF XI level of the people in this board is crappy compared to the japanese players. You are just wasting ur time.
Heres the formula if u dont wanna lose against a high skilled player :

Choose 2 characters out of Kula, Oswald, or Gato + choose one character of ur choice that u feel damn comfortable playing with him/her.

Its not guaranteed though. The Answer plays with the top 3, and still got his ass raped, as well as all of us, by RF and Mago using similar characters.
Since all of u guys havent played a top KOF japanese player, u all think u r good.
Trust me … u r not.

Now that The Answer has retired ( he retires every 3-4 months btw and comes back again ) I dont have someone to spar my new oswald, gato kula/ralf team, trying to emulate the japanese players rushdown so … bleh for me.

How to beat Gato. Don’t let him move.

How to beat Gato: Just don’t do moves.

Excellent quote. The truth…If they can’t even beat K-Force which is best in US then surely Japanese is out of the question!!! Yo Jorge did you guys get that shit on film???

Please say yes!!! Pleasseeeee??? :lovin: If you got it filmed if you can send me a link I will send you cash!!! It is worth its weight in cash!!!

I think that’s a little to deep…you’re talking about the best players in the world (arguably?). Seriously, it’s like calling someone ass in basketball because he can’t stop D-Wade or Lebron. What if the nigga just likes balling? No need to compare them to the greatest when it’s more about fun than anything else…

i hate this game for the ps2. it’s slow and the just fucked up on alot of shit hella wack?

remember a thing
japanese one is a total different culture especially during first 25 years of life
they can spend a lot of time in various arcade centers while we have at maximum one in the major towns (i’m talking about italy but it seems that over the world the situation isn’t any better)

if they play videogames at a decent level they become famous, here if you’re not a millionaire or a soccer player you’re not worth a cent

from last meeting in france a friend of mine retired from third strike when heard that Hayao play about 10 hours of 3s EVERY FUCKING DAY!!
so they have that strenght

bruno vaysse known as the french 'beast of kof’
owned everyone in cannes during european championship to get to the tougeki 2005 for kof neowave
he challenged the 4th player in japan and got his ass kicked 40-0

!!!

fortunately (imho) we have a different concept of childhood and the european/american youngster is somewhat forced to go out and play instead of nerdizing himself in front of a monitor
yes, ok exceptions are always welcome

so i wont’ bother if a jap guy is a beast at kof xi
he don’t do anything else!!!

with this i’m not saying that japanese wins tournaments over tournaments 'cause they’re all nerds
but 'cause they have a different culture
and i still prefer mine even if i like videogames so much
if i can i prefer to spend more time with my girlfriend than practice all day hitconfirms or juggles :stuck_out_tongue:
a jap for his culture prefer to learn how to play with chun li

we all day hear and play soccer they videogames…
we’re the football world champions they have the best players in kof and 3s

it’s only culture

but…
japanese strenght won’t stop me from playing videogames at my level
i don’t care if RF is unbeatable, unfortunately i will never meet him…so why complain?
i like to play with my few friends and i can feel good time during our vs sessions
and i like to expand my theories about the game i prefer…maybe i will never put in some strange and difficult stuff…but i want to know that is possible

some time ago i felt strange seeing all of those vids from kof2k2 showing amazing combo with BC mode
and i realized that i’ll never have done something that amazing…but practicing every day even for few ours a week i’m able to reproduce every combo i see in cmvs

so let’s get going with out anti god tiers discussion

I understand about things being fun…but to me it aint about fun…only at the beginning,

Then from then on out its about dedication and winning…nothing more…

So for me it all goes to being the best…and how ever to get to that if I have the means I will do it.

Culture does have a difference…I will agree to that.

Look at SNK games in the states…and look at them elsewhere…

i can twirl my stomach as i want to become stronger and to find opponents but it won’t change that here there are 4-5 kofxi serious players so my level even if i learn all combos and setups won’t raise 'cause it becomes stagnant
maybe with a 20-30 player i can get better and somewhat stimolated to become stronger

but i feel that when my closest kof mate will leave our little competitions i have only to dedicate to cmvs or quit

yes, i can travel, europe is big and you can reach everywhere other players (dammn france is miles away from us in kof and 3s ability) but with my current level even if it’s high for the italian standards i don’t think that i can be considered competitive once left my country

maybe going out 4-5 times a year i can get really better
but i’ll have to work only to pay planes and hotels :stuck_out_tongue:
the only thing i can do is to study till death every vs vid i can find over the net (thanks god internet and youtube) to learn various strategy
but a good vs experience is what you need to become competitive

btw, dark geese you have msn?
let’s exchange!!
