KOF Maximum impact regulation a thread

All I heard is everyone is supposed to have gotten at least something new.
Leona and Ralf I think might have gotten some new Stylish combos or something, but I dunno…

Yeah the whole every character has something new was the hook for me, but after going through a few characters namely MR karate, geese, and a few others i was kinda left with a bitter taste in my mouth

Yeah some characters got a brand new move like ryo, Mr karate, yuri, nagase hanzo, other characters just got new SMs AKA chains, actually i think every character has new sms

lol the 20+ combos with Mizoguchi is a bit of an exaggeration, but he had some pretty intuitive stuff that I thought was cool. I didn’t even know how to do most of his specials or SMs, I just found some stuff I liked and rolled with it (like 421+HP into super).

After messing with him in Training Mode, I think he’s really cool. There is a lot of potential for silliness with his character since he has some interesting cancels. His level 1 kick super does waaaaay too much damage.

I dunno, would Mizoguchi count as near-broken, or just really, really good?

People have already claimed Xiao Lon and Ash to be broken, even though it’s way too early to be definite about it…

Nah, I don’t think he’s anywhere near broken, at least not yet. Some high damage in there but he is slow. Maybe over time with tricks using his sandal throw move combined with max damage combos, he could become very strong. But he’d still be underneath the likes of say, Billy or Ash.

Newb question: besides removing his headband (makes him easier to dizzy?), what effects does Mizoguchi’s level 3 super have?

You can do a weaker version of his uppercut super for no meter, using the same command he had for it in Fighter’s History Dynamite (412+all 4 buttons).

Well as far as broken characters go. Yea, Xiao seems to be broken, but there’s always a character to counter another character most likely. Everyone thought magneto was unstoppable too until they figured out ways to get around him in mvc2. Simply put it, most fighting games have cheap characters that you have to end up dealing with, so best thing to do is just simply adapt. Most people give up on new games too fast once they see one or more cheap things with certain characters. Yet, they play old games that came out in the 90’s like ST with old sagat (cheap) and combo’s that basically kill u in like 5 hits. Yet they don’t complain much. (go figure)

Anyway, this game is very fun and can’t wait till more people start playing it here.

I’d have to say I agree with this. It just doesn’t sound like theres enough to warrant plopping down another 50 bucks for this considering I have MI2. $30 maybe. I mean I definately will get this but it will be whenever I can find it for less. So I can wait.

If it’s canon with FHD it’s the opposite : in FHD he can’t be dizzied after he loses his headband

It’s still worth playing, it’s an upgrade.

Ah, right right, my bad

Awesome, thanks!

I want to play soon, hopefully its like an improved MI 2 cause that game was pretty fun imo. Also people calling characters broken already is funny. Armor Ralph was what I would call “Broken” everyone else was merely different levels of good… people need better terminology makes the game seem like its not even worth playing at all, I’d say aside from Armor Ralf Mi2 was only a few steps below tourney worthy, but hey maybe that is just me.

Mizoguchi actually used to have a shoryuken-like attack:

I know…

But if you look hes doing a eblow, not a acctual uppercut. He has the move in dynamite as well, its just reverse DP+four buttons, if your far away he does that version. But if your close up he does the shinryuken, but again with his elbow. Not his acctual fist.

Dont get me wrong, I think its cooler to do a uppercut. But thats not what hes suppose to do, so changeing the asetichs of the move or whatever is dum.

Again im fine with SNK giving him new moves(even if they do look stupid, stupid super jump flame kick… Wtf seriously is that cool to anyone? And dropping his sandels he DOESNT EVEN WEAR SANDELS in other games, and whatever on that butt drop…)but when you fuck up his orginal moves, makeing his elbows uppercut, and his hurricane kicks look ugly as fuck in the game, and it doesnt even look like you can get the same combos with it. Thats dum.

Also I watched one video, did they fuck up his normals to? Looks like he has some diff ones now -_-.

Me and my friend played tonight and we had a lot of fun trying out most of the characters. Duke seems to be pretty darn good! He’s strong, has good wall combos and nice setups. There are tons of other characters too, and it doesn’t seem broken to me yet. Sure, some people had cheap stuff, but there’s like tons of characters to try and counter your opponent. The game has a nice feel to it so far and I can’t wait to learn it fully!

Talking about mizoguchi and srk attacks, in Karnov 3 on SFC he even had an additionnal super, something between a shoryureppa and a shinryuken and definitely a dragon punch evolution.

…brings back memories

There’s no denying that, or the fact that it’s definitely a successful upgrade from MI2.

The REAL money question is: how much is it worth PAYING for?
I just hope it gets ported to a next-gen system in America, no matter how much it costs…

I’ll get for the mutliplayer factor, my friend really likes MI2, but hated all the unlocking so he’ll probably like this one a lot.

I can’t remember her name off hand, but what’s that move that the gothic looking little girl does when she makes the green orb around her? Is it like a shield or something? She wears the black gothic skirt outfit.
