Thats what mizoguchi is suppose to look like, and from the videos ive seen him in, he doesnt have combos like that at all now. Seems his shoryuken to, really is a shoryuken now instead of being a elbow when he does his shinryukenish move. And somehow his hurricane kick looks worse in 3d then it did 13 years ago or whatever. Also why the fuck is he wearing shoes now? I know he has that move with them, but still I dont like them changeing the character design of him blah.
It applies to both, ie somebody like K cant do standing lp sp down HK (knockdown) into standing lk x2 in regulation A, which was my personal fave combo with him but something like kyo HPx2, DF HK cannot be teched, dont ask me why maybe because the actual blow knocking down is a two hitter Ie the first hit of the double sweep knocks down while the second hit makes it untechable, i really cant say but that’s my inital impression.
As for mizoguchi not having long combos which the fella from cyberfantix was on about, i expect to see the exact opposite, he is by far the most interesting of the new characters in regulation A In my opinion
As for mizoguchi not having the same combos he did 13 years ago in a complete different game, what did you honestly expect? I cant think of many characters in the MI series who have combos that are similar to what they had in there original games, no QCF KK combos kyo and so on.
the way i see it MI reg A mizoguchi = better than no mizoguchi at all, it’s nice to see old characters back with a fresh lick of paint, sure they might not be faithfull recreations but least the intention is there to not let them just die so we get swamped by shitty new characters like ash and xio lon, and you never know with the inclusion of mizoguchi it might stir interest in younger gamers or gamers who just never bothered with fhd who never heard of him and actually wanna go and use him in fighters history dynamite, maybe that last point was overly idealistic but stranger things have happend.
oh yeah while typing this i was fucking around and found something interesting kyos HPHP df HK is untechable, but kyo classics is techable, i have no idea why
I think the knockdown factor doesnt apply to awkward landings, like when the character falls sideways. Dunno though since I dont have the game yet I cant test it out.
Can some test out the hard throw knockdown (such as Maxima’s Lvl 2 DM and Ralf and Clark’s hcf+K). Just seeing if they can now be teched as well, Cause that would kill my combos with them o.o
i cant seem to follow up all of those you suggested, they get up too fast to follow up for clark and ralfs to follow up, and maximas seems just to whiff through them completly. this untechable sweep thing is starting to bug me i dont know if it’s reg a training mode or me, i have them on quick get up and break fall, example! clarks HK sweep is untechable as is his chain down LK LK so you can still sweep into hcf P after a HK sweep or a chain down LKLK, but ralfs on the other hand is techable, note both ralf and clarks knock down have the same effect both knock you down face on floor head toward your foe, maybe it’s me maybe it’s the reg A training mode, personally i just think the whole knock down thing is inconsisant and the claims that sweeps albeit on there own or in chains are techable seem to be false
The whole Mizoguchi not having big combos is a bunch of BS. EVERYONE has long combos in MI.
I played Beast of Fire’s Mizoguchi yesterday…he had never even played Fighter’s History, or MIRA, and he found 20 hit+ combos with Mizoguchi within like…2 matches.
Then I went into training mode and played with Mizoguchi for the first time, looked at his command list, and found big combos with him in like…2 minutes.
I know, it’s just that I sent a message to him (not on this board) seeing if he wanted to play and maybe MM, but the guy hasn’t even responded. Not even to say no. That’s just rude, all I pretty much want is to test out my team (and 4r5 helped me out with that a bit). Seriously MI2 is like my best game and I’m confident that I could beat almost anyone in it. O.o
edit: ahhh I wanna play this guy so bad DX I can’t bear it.
I never said mizoguchi didnt have big combos, I said he doesnt have the same combos/moves etc anymore. His moves are different. Learn to read idoits.
It doesnt matter to me if he has new moves thats fine whatever, but when his old moves dont even look the same(him acctualy punching for shoryuken instead of doing a elbow)thats just snk being lazy.
So yea im sure if you didnt play fighters history before yo dont give a fuck about mizoguchi and just seem him as a oh cool someone from a diff game. But if you acctualy played it before and are hopeing for him to play at least kinda like he did or at least look the same move wise and then you see that thats not the case. Its not as cool anymore.
just got the game three days ago. It is awesome and the game is hard as hell as far as the AI. Need to work more on my Xiao Lon.She is very hot. I lillie level 1 super doesn’t last as long as billy’s when you hold the punch button. It will only last for 13 hits.
I have it. I’m loving it so far and really hope that people have a good amount of tournaments in them. I think it’s a good game, and I’m tired of the same old capcom stuff… Well, Barasa X looks good though.
I would say know what you’re getting for your $50 before buying KOF MIRA. I think MIRA is a decent upgrade, but the home version lacks too many features to worth $50 unless you’ve never had MI2. It *is *worth $50 if you’ve never experienced MI2, though.
Pros:
4 UNIQUE new characters (though at least 2 of them might be somewhat broken) at the exchange of Armor Ralf who was REALLY broken and not very unique
New stages
Added all of the songs from Maximum Impact 1–a MAJOR plus in my book as I loved the MI1 music much, much more than the original MI2 tracks
Characters are supposedly more “balanced” (although only time will tell)
Everyone has at least 1 new move
Cons:
No story mode
No character-specific plots/endings
Less character models/colors (not neccesarily a con if you really hate Falcoon’s designs =/)
No challenge mode
Virtually no unlockables, however…
???
/ everyone and all of their colors are unlocked from the start, you might prefer it this way or you might not
/ 3-on-3 Time Attack replaces normal 1-on-1 Arcade (i.e. Story) mode. Which means no 1-on-1 battles with the CPU outside of Versus mode. Again, it’s up to you to decide if you prefer it this way.
/ Females are said to be “bouncier” and their “underwear thinner”. :xeye: Some people may be annoyed by the blantant fan service or think the characters look dumber for it I guess…
/ I *think *the classic Neo-Geo songs might be missing from this release but I can’t confirm. Also, I think some of the unlockable stages from MI2 are also missing…
In general, this release seems more geared to the hardcore fighting game player and multi-player play than the original which was focused more on the fan service, single-player modes, and the casual gamer…
Now before I go off on a rant, by new move do you mean command/special move or SM? Cause I’m looking at the command list right now and noticing nothing new for Leona, Ralf, etc…
