The visual style, especially without the voiceover, reminds me a lot of Terence Malick. Which is really weird, coming from Zack Snyder.
felt like an indy movie. when i saw the trailer…ignoring the voice over.
When I saw the trailer (saw the jor el one first) I felt tight in my chest after it ended, much like the feeling I got after seeing batman begins and amazing spiderman’s trailers…BOTH GREAT MOVIES. I recognized the dialogue as feeling familiar from all star supes but i didnt realize it was that close

Here’s an interview with one of the producers, dude’s talking about trying to make him relatable and emotionally compelling to people, which makes sense since that was the feeling I got when I saw the teaser.

Yep same here, it’s strange I’m so used to the over the top in your face theme music, this was in a way humbling. I’m glad they show him dealing with day to day things like everybody else, not using his powers, on the boat it he gazes out to the ocean, longing.

Really? I thought it looked really good, especially when he was walking on the clouds, looked really epic.
Basically the Bottle City of Kandor got unshrunk and their was a whole new group of Kyrptoiions around super powered, not et on the level of Super but still alot of super powers around, they ended up colonizing their own Asteroid or something near Earth I’m a bit fuzzy on details. Kara Zor El Supergirl parents were on Kandor and are political leaders, due to dickery by General Lane Yes Lois’s dad Kara’s father is killed and the Kandorian’s leave earth. Zod, Ursa, and Non joined the people of Kandor and Zod was working on doing whatever he could to protect Kandor but wasn’t making any moves on Earth and Super joined Zod and the people of Kandor so he could teach them how to use their powers, fight, and keep relations between New Krypton and Earth cool.
Fast forward a bit and due to a terrible chain of events Kandor is destroyed and everyone except for Clark, Kara, Zod, Ursa, and Non are dead, Supes isn’t trusted by the populace of Earth, General Lane is dead but regarded as a hero, and Zod and crew lose every single trace of development they got. It was a cool story with one of the worse endings around, almost rage quit DC comics the ending was so rage inducing. I would recommend finding the trades because theirs a whole lot more to it. A lot of Supes background characters were involved like Steel, Chris Kent Zod’s son who Super adopted, Mon El, the Guardian,and others.
After all-star supes and knowing supermans outfit was based on circus strongmen, a batman-long cape doesnt work for the character at all IMO
he shouldnt be drowning in his cape, it should be a small part of him

On paper I definitely agree with you, his cape shouldn’t swallow him like the dark knights cape. In fact, due to how they are supposed to be opposites, the fact that bats cape is so big means supes shouldn’t be. With that said, it just looks really good on the big screen(personally) so all that goes out the window.
Honestly, Im just glad they got rid of those horrid trunks, I understand why he wore them, but its been 70 years I think its time for an update. Plus, now that its armor, least it makes some sense that his suit share his invulnerability.
His suit shared his invulnerability in the comics for a few decades before they decided that didn’t make sense.
But for Batman it acts as a cloak for stealth, also realistically in order for him to fly it should be even bigger.
