Do you honestly know how difficult it is to adopt a No-Killing Policy out of the blue? You know what Man of Steel did? IT GAVE A REASON FOR CLARK TO ADOPT SAID POLICY.
He becomes traumatized by killing someone else, makes it a point to avoid doing so again in the future. By just making a policy with no conviction out of the blue, it’s a lot easier to break. Having a reason to create it will grant more steadfastness in maintaining it.
But yeah, feel free to forget that this is a rookie Superman who had literally never been in an actual fight before Zod showed up.
And as it’s been said, Superman has killed before and has opted to kill before. Hell, whenever Darkseid shows up, the pretense of even having the policy is dropped. Darkseid shows up, he’s going for his fucking head and pray for those who want to get in his way of doing so.
The no killing policy is adopted because of the way he lives his life as clark, its in how we was raised to be a honorable moral man. If this movie had bothered to read birthright they could have easily used the"soul vision"explanation to avoid senseless murder. Point is clark learned long ago that with his power he had a responsibility not to abuse it. Also supes has never acted reckless against DS in canon encounters FYI.
Yeah, he was raised to believe it, but without your OWN conviction it’s hard to maintain it. Clark was given his reasons to not kill from being raised by the Kents. But now he has his OWN reason to not want to kill. Without that, he would’ve just been a superpowered legacy of the Kents and Jor-El and nothing more. He needs to carve out his own path in regard to his morality and ethics.
And dropping a No-Kill Policy =/= Acting Reckless. I never said he got reckless against Darkseid. He just has no qualms about killing him.
I already knew Superfag fans were some of the worst ppl on Earth, but damn, I never thought I would have to tier them below Pony Lovers and Michael Bay fans/ppl that pay to see Resident Evil.
If there’s anything I could be disappointed about, it’s this movie’s version of Lois Lane’s lack of smart-ass and straight-to-the-point quips. It would have been an interesting contrast because she’s wholly capable of saying something funny or irreverent, like “Zod, maybe you should take anger management” or some shit.
So? Pa Kent basically taught him to not be a bully, and he follows that to a T…except for when he met the Kryptonians and beat the fuck out of them for awhile and then snapped Zod’s neck
Yeah, like 50 years ago in the golden age (and in the shitty fucking George Reeves tv show). Before they learned how to properly write comics. And even then, he barely ever did it, or it was just insinuated. He didn’t snap villains necks.
lol what? He just fights Darkseid normally most of the time. Beats the fuck out of him, then dumps him in space or Apokalips.
Can’t wait for him to fight Lex Luthor and just snap his neck too.
Batman has also broken his policy on killing AND shooting a gun. Not to mention unlike Clark who had it just taught to him, Bruce himself took it up when his parents were murdered. That’s not out of the blue.
Pa Kent taught him how not to be a bully…and then he wrecks a drunkard’s truck. The asshole deserved it, but Pa Kent would’ve reamed Clark’s ass for that one.
Barely ever is not NEVER doing it. And who cares how someone is killed short of torture? Killing is killing.
And Zod doesn’t have Luthor’s PR boost, not to mention YET AGAIN, killing Zod is what will traumatize Clark into adopting the No-Kill Policy. Am I wrong or lying? Please say yes, I dare you to.
Batman’s no-kill policy is the product of severe psychological damage.
Most people have a pretty strict no-kill policy, until they’re put in a position where their own lives or the lives of those around them will be otherwise forfeit.
BATMAN gets a pass, cuz hes batman so it made sense for him to do so. Superman does not cuz hes a dumbfuck idiot. Nigga could kill goku bein all irresposible and killin and shit. Theres a reason my nigga batman always got krytonite on him.
Pa Kent was borderline retarded/insane in this movie.
Yet again, I point out that he BARELY ever killed anybody, and that was like 50 years ago before massive amounts of reboots and logic. Lots of characters have done different things back in the 40s when they were created. Retcon’s and reboots have fixed that shit. And Who cares how someone is killed? Well most of the examples listed previously were either not in the comics, or involved people just assuming that Superman killed somebody. Please feel free to type out a list of people Supes has actually killed in the comics. And don’t show me that gay list that had fucking Doomsday on it. Because he didn’t even actually try to kill Doomsday, he just wanted to stop him and clubbed him good. AND DOOMSDAY SURVIVED.
Dare accepted. You’re wrong. It hasn’t happened yet, unless you wish to let me have access to that crystal ball you apparently have.
The entire problem with him killing once, is regardless of how bad you think he feels, it becomes hard to convince people why he shouldn’t do it in the future. If Lex is endangering Lois, should Clark kill him? If Lex is endangering all of Metropolis or Earth, should Supes kill him? He killed Zod to save 4 fucking nobodies, after allowing hundreds of thousands to die, and essentially leveling TWO cities. When Lex starts getting out of jail constantly, or avoiding any jail time at all, Man of Steel has taught me that Supes will kill people.
Let’s take it a step further. So far Superman’s only way to stop people is to fuck them up or kill them, according to these movies. He no longer has any ability to creatively save the day. He just punches, lasers, or neck snaps things.
Hell, rather than politely ask the Army to stop trying to find out where he lives, he instead smashes a fucking plane right in front of the general and warns him.
So yeah, right now it seems that Superman isn’t even similar to his comic version, except for the same skillset.
You’re losing this battle worse than the leaked Injustice DLC characters discussions, amigo
Zod made it abundantly clear that killing humans was his sole purpose in life, having lost his people. He was basically committing suicide by superhero. You can quibble all you want about how well the movie handled this (fucking poorly), but to say that Superman did it just to save the four people in the Hall of Justice misses the incredibly obvious point.*
*Seriously. This movie, like anything that Snyder, Goyer, and Nolan have ever been involved with, never met a point that it didn’t try to smash home with a sledgehammer.
You of all people should realize how many characters in the DC Universe make it their goal to kill/dominate humans. That’s a poor excuse for neck snapping Zod. Gorilla Grodd, Joker, Sinestro, Mongol…these are all potential neck snapped villains in the eyes of Supermurderer.
