Kibbles n' Bits: The Amaterasu Combo Thread

…that’s what happens when I try to post something half-asleep D:

[/fail]

ok yeah that combo is actually realy easy now lol. thanks yo.

do any of you guys know if there’s anything to do after going for an instant overhead w/ ammy in the corner? Using phoenix tk overdrive in a blockstring. If they block my standing M and standing H i call phoenix and while they are in blockstun I jump and go for an instant overhead. If the I.O. connects what combo should I do after. Also does anyone know if they can test for me because I also don’t know how badly the phoenix assist affects the hitstun deterioration.

After that, you can do s.A-B-C-S xx shuffle.

Hey can some one give me combos for in and out of the corner that deal a lot of damage using the team ammy(cold star),vergil(rapid slash),Akuma(tatsu)
In the corner the best I can do is (with sword) j:h:,:m::h:c:h:,:qcf::l:,:m::s:,j:m::qcf::h::h: (charge),:f::h::h::h: (akuma assist) :h:, j:h:(charge),:f::h::h::h: (vergil assist) :h:, :qcf::m: (charge)xx:qcf::atk::atk:, DHC etc.
Out side of the corner I’m clueless so help please?

Alright I did Ammy in my road to do every char basic combos

I am gunna try and write an article for each one explaining some aspects of the combos and linking to notable ammy players/video makers. So, if theres any to include in the description/article please let me know.

Just posting a quick little glaive reset I found today (sorry if this has already been known I just started playing Ammy).

Inset whatever air series ending in s+ j. 3C+ head charge L, delayed airgrab OR j. 6C if you expect them to hit buttons which leads to a ground bounce

So Im finally making progress on her glaive Bnb, I actually hit it occasionally, just came her to thank everyone for their help, and complain about how all this practice is going into a combo that does 700k. I swear after I hit the combo for the first time after practicing for probably about 8 months, and only did 600k(started it with a cr.:l:) I honestly considered dropping ammy, that shit was depressing. But I love this girl far too much(and there aren’t enough ammy players to begin with) to drop her at this point.

what’s the combo?
and did you use ammy at tory?
i’m pretty sure i watched you play but i don’t remember seeing a trish/ammy team

In sword mode w/ ammy when my opponent is grounded is there any combo i can do if i hit them with the diagonal down H (in air) move? Like i try to switch to disk stance after a non charged hit and attack them w/ air H to combo into the dive kick move but it doesn’t seem to connect. Anyone know of any ways to connect the move after.

If I’m reading it correctly, you’re using the Glaive dive twice in the combo. Glaive Dive causes a ground-bounce on aerial opponents and grounded opponents. You need to fit a Glaive Chop in order to reset the ground-bounce. Glaive Chop causes a lot of hit-stun decay though.

After the weapon switch, (reflector) j.:l: j.:h: should combo if you’re close enough.

Thunder Edge Stab does not cause a groundbounce on standing opponents and that’s what he’s talking about

secondly, Glaive chop hasn’t reset ground bounce since Vanilla.

So I wasn’t reading it correctly.

[S]The guide still says glaive chop still resets ground-bounce. The new change IIRC is that it will cause hard knockdown if canceled early. The real issue with using Glaive chop more than once is that it kills HSD. I believe I saw MarlinPie use two ground-bounces after a counter. After the first Okami Shuffle, he did glaive dive -> Okami Shuffle. The match was the last match between MarlinPie vs. Chris G at the first Curly Mustache he won.[/S]

[S]Of course, I could be completely wrong. Shouldn’t be too hard to test.[/S]

EDIT: Just tested it, I’m wrong. And kinda mad actually. I have no idea why they took it out.[S][/S]

IIRC, (someone told me this, forget who though) the glaive chop still resets the ground bounce, but every single hit has to connect, so otg dive xx glaive chop doesn’t reset the ground bounce. At least, I couldn’t get it to work.

I’m fairly certain glaive chop doesn’t reset ground bounce anymore. The change was that the first hit would reset ground bounce to force the ground bounce if cancelled early, and now it gives hard knockdown and has no reason to reset groundbounce anymore. The first was probably negated by an assist call, or maybe you just remember the starter wrong; if you still have a groundbounce, Okami Shuffle > Thunder Edge Stab > Okami Shuffle is a decent way to get more stuff solo. I could be wrong on this, but I’m pretty sure I’m not.

One thing I’m VERY certain I’m not wrong about is that glaive Chop doesn’t particularly affect HSD. HSD runs entirely on a timer that starts when you first hit the opponent and, for a few characters, will reset when you first launch the opponent if you haven’t yet hit them with an assist. And Glaive Chop is not that slow of a move, so not much time expires during it. It is really vulnerable to HSD, though, since the link to follow it up stops working if scaled down more than a little bit.

So yeah, tested it. I’m wrong. It actually doesn’t reset ground bounce period.

The question now is, y u do that capcom? D:

I heard this was a change made in a patch post ultimate release. Hmm…

Air weapon change is better than that ever was.

That’s true but considering what other characters got, what’s the harm in leaving Glaive Chop alone?

…but I digress. =/
