clever. hahahaha.
anybody know any good ways of landing ken’s b.mk (the overhead one)? more often then not, this move gets parried by the better players.
^lol…
man, are people still seriously asking for canned setups for moves. this game is so old, if you can’t figure out when to use back+mk by now, you’re pretty hopeless man.
thanks for the tip
don’t listen to that ***
press cr jab as soon as you wakeup, then do the overhead. money
or what I said works for all links…
you do realize that there are still people jumping into the game at this point? It’s thinking like this that keeps us all as far back as we are compared to the japanese. These “canned setups” work as silly as they sound sometimes, and everyone is known to use them. I know for a fact that a lot of pyro’s shit, is a set of these “canned setups” and look at him.
Like what Pyro said in that podcast. He learned his yun by doing shit that some japanese taught him. He would tell him how to land universal overhead to short to dive punch. He would tell him to cr. jab twice on wake up, take a step back and overhead. I dunno if this is just something you’re totally against because it doesn’t sound cool on paper, but it’s a proven way to play. So stop talking shit and post some of your stupid tricks, because EVERYONE has these set ups.
Can someone please tell me if Ken’s c.mp has a different hit stun depending how the opponent is standing or recovering?
Sometimes it seems like I have all the time in the world to hit confirm it and sometimes I don’t.
Maybe it’s just because of the lag online?
The only difference you’ll see is it it’s really meaty, or the opponent is crouching when hit. Online play will make you think all kinds of crazy things.
hopefully i dont get flamed for asking another question, but could someone post vids of good Kens playing against ibuki or oro players? i have a tough time against those two characters cus i never play against them.
I’m pretty new to this game, like a month lol.
Ken is like my favorite character, he’s gonna be my second.
The other day I was playing my friend and two amazing things happend.
One was an amazing mixup. I did mp > hp > shoryu (he tried to sweep for some reason, I landed before his lag and) > lk > lk > SA3. DEEELISH.
The other one was mp > hp > EX shoryu > SA3 <— I didn’t even know that was possible, let alone that I could pull it off.
He then started complaining about how I broke the game to get that combo. lol.
that is wasting meter, you dont wanna use your EX’s to combo into SA’s. i also think it might do less damage than just regular mp>hpxxSA3.
and im not sure what you mean by mixup in the first part of the post. but it sounds like you did mp>hp>shoryu and he blocked it all, so he tried to sweep but did it too early. sounds like you just got lucky and he gave u an opening for a free combo
That seems very plausible. I love it when I whiff something and they whiff the punish. It’s like a mulligan for an ass beating. EX shoryu into saIII is way shittier damage and a lot of meter to burn but on occasion I guess it’s ok for a quick unexpected combo if it gets the ko. As far as Ibuki and oro go, can’t help with ibuki’s sexy lil ass but oro I do a lot of squat block and throw and wait for him to whiff a mp. Also dp the shit out of those double jump cross ups. I’m sure my advice is wrong but thats what I do with him since I hardly ever fight a good oro.
oros like to guess so play on that as well as you can. Strategies are usually player dependent when it comes to oro, unless you know a way to fall out of a chicken combo. (joke) Ibuki’s are weakest in their recovery, (no shit) that’s basically where you’re going to try and beat an ibuki down.
It’s safe to say a good ibuki will leave you locked down in a barrage of jabs and jump in kunais. I’ll look for some matches and post them up for you soon. Right now I just wanted to kill some time and make a long winded post with nothing to add to the conversation.
FUCK YEAH.
i dont think ive ever fucked this link up online, you have so much leeway for it especially if you piano, and you have all the world to react and then some. on the other hand, i can only hitconfirm c.MK in near lagless conditions, i cant even do it consistantly on console like some players can.
consistency and console 3s are two terms that should never be used in the same sentence.
^wtf are you talking about.
console is faster than arcade, which is why you can do it in “lagless conditions” obviously the rom is the arcade version of the game. all hit confirms and things like that are easier on arcade, pretty common knowledge at this point.
i think thats what was implied…
no, what was implied was that console 3s is somehow “inconsistent”.
well if you only play arcade, then console would be “inconsistent” for you. right? i dont know im confused. sorry.
