Is it…say…mash Souki’s down attack after the sword spin super? Or maybe they don’t even move after the sword spin OTG and you can just dash up and do something like 2A over and over and over? Those are my guesses, I’ll test later and ruin the surprise for everyone, lol.
Also sword spin super is great, if they have like 5% left or so you can just do it and it’ll kill them every time since you can’t push block it to reduce damage.
I thought it was just a funny gimmick at first, but this is just lame. Karas builds meter so fast, and if this can be comboed into, (which by the sounds of it, it probably can) then sdkfjslkdjf.
I guess this game still comes down to who can beat Karas the fastest.
Also, Yatterman’s firebreath super sometimes hits OTG in a similar way. (the fire breath part.)
I’m pretty sure you can jump and pushblock it in the air.
I’m quite sure Karas can combo into sword spin super, if that’s what you mean.
If you mean Souki combo into the infinite, I imagine the setup is a double team super or some DHC variation. I can’t think of any variation that isn’t comboable.
Well you can push block the swords AFTER they hit you and take off some life but that just reduces block stun. There’s no way to mash it as far as I know it to make it so you don’t take damage since it’s not continual hits like a beam super.
Alright well I got the infinite. It’s pretty stupid, awesome find tho Silven. It’s definitely a glitch, and I’m pretty sure I know how it works, and it should be able to work with a couple other characters + Karas if I’m not mistaken, although the timing might be even harder. (And the timing’s pretty strict on this one at a certain spot). Again, I won’t spoil it for you.
EDIT: I mean the glitch should work with the other chars, BTW, not the infinite. I can think of 1 who the infinite might work for tho.
Haha, if it wasn’t for all the talk of the OTG Sword Spin and Karas being necessary it wouldn’t have been nearly as easy to find. Honestly though it’s really not that hard to figure out, or even guess for that matter. I found it just messing around with followups for the OTG Sword Spin super. Since like three other people found it day-of I kinda want to just say it.
I wouldn’t go as far as to say you deserve it if you get caught… All it takes is for Souki to get a jab on you while you’re not in the air and he can combo into it. So yeah, the set up can be combo’d into very easily, and after it starts you may have one opportunity to MC out, not sure about that because the hit is still technically OTG. The infinite portion however is a lock, and a stupid one at that.
Doesn’t seem to work on Roll, at least through the setup I used for it, and may not work on other smaller characters. Haven’t checked. Does work anywhere on screen though, so you don’t even have the ‘stay out of the corner’ defense. This should really be in the Souki thread anyway.
True, I meant more mid-match usefulness though, as in Karas can usually deal more damage by tacking on a little bit to his standard BnB than he can by sacrificing the extra hits to combo into Sword Spin super. That’s not even factoring in his infinite or MC/unblockable loops.
I think the Karas thread is a good place for this discussion, since the glitch that allows this infinite has to do with Karas’ move, and nobody else’s (as of yet), I feel like he could do it with other characters.
As of now I don’t see how anyone else could make use of it for a couple reasons, one because I can’t seem to get Karas’ super to hit OTG like it does with a DHC from anyone else. The other reason kinda spoils the setup.
If you’d have come out and told everyone how to do it, instead of trying to keep it a secret, you’d have been credited.
Fact is, the community is too widespread for us to be keeping secrets from eachother. We need to be able to see this stuff to use it and evolve our games around it.
All you did was give us a hint, YourMother did most of the work in re-finding this. :looney:
Meh, I was still the first one to find it out and if it wasn’t for me yourmother wouldn’t have even tried anything but to be honest I don’t really care. I knew you were gonna be lame about it anyway since you have some random personal bias against me ever since the beginning of this thread.
Anyway beyond that, since it’s obviously a glitch (Souki’s 2A does not hit OTG, therefore glitch…) are we gonna be banning it or keeping it legal?!
Its legal, its not even that good, and I have no bias against you… I just want you to act like a part of the community. Keeping things from people is for personalities most people hate (like Marn, no offense haha). You dont want to be like that. I noted you in the video notes, and doubt it all you want, but you’d have gotten full credit if you’d just come out with it.
We dont ban glitches, unles they stop the game from being played. In this, one character is comboing the other, which falls under normal gameplay. Smash doesnt even ban glitches, so why would we all the sudden?
If you really wanted to just keep it a secret you should have done just that, as opposed to coming on here and talking about how you found some awesome combo, the characters you use, and some info that can lead to figuring out how it works. If you don’t want the community figuring this stuff out, don’t post it up on here, that’s how the shit works. If it weren’t for frustratedsquirrel, I probably wouldn’t have figured this out either because I didn’t know about the OTG sword spin bug. So basically, come in here and contribute, and we can all get along, otherwise don’t hide stuff and then act like it was all you later. I had to put work in on this shit because you didn’t want to share.
Smash doesnt have OHK glitches or anything thats deemed unfair (unless you count MK’s infinte cape a glitcch which it kinda isnt. That definatly is banned). MK’s a walking glitch tho. YEA THATS RIGHT I SAID IT!!
LMAO it’s not about it being “good” or not. The fact that you can’t Megacrash it means the timer will either run out or your character will die with barely any time left on the clock to win when time runs out.
You get that on someone = you win the game.
If you notice you can slow down the kicks so that you can keep the dude alive for as long as possible so that you win when time runs out…
I dunno, something about that doesn’t scream “skill” to me…
Oh and in regards to Smash there are actually a few game breaking glitches that we ban…
If you mean “exploits” like WD’ing and all that then I guess we don’t ban those but we definitely ban glitches that allow someone to win with little to no effort.
IC’s freeze glitch in Melee and Mewtwo’s freeze glitch…you basically could do the same thing, get some % and freeze them then win the game when time runs out. It wasn’t even a question whether it should be banned or not, it’s just blatantly stupid and unfair…
Also in Brawl, DeDeDe standing chaingrab is banned in most places and in “some” tournaments Ice Climber grab infinite is banned. MK infinite dimension cape glitch is also banned pretty much everywhere.
In Italy, Metaknight is banned, just a fun fact lmao.
Go win some tournaments with this, and then tell me how much skill it takes. (which isnt relevant anyway. what wins, wins… no matter how hard it is to perform.)
