? Karas 101 - Yurine will guide you to victory

Hrms one possible thing people MIGHT do

ryu assist, 2B, 3C, 623A , projectile hits covering karas, dash back, ryu assist, all over again. Is it possible? just wondering

sort of a lock i guess

Ok. I see what I was doing wrong.
I was using an assist then 6,C unblockable, during baroque.
The unblockable cancels the baroque, allowing you to use it again.
I never paid attention, that the baroque was cancelled.
Thanks izanagisama and yourmother for the correction.

lol the blind hype is so dumb, Im not even saying karas isnt stupid good but most of you are just saying WOW pretty combo BROKEN CANT PLAY!!, when every character is going to have 100%s before long if they dont already.

And seriously, you’re freaking out over talk from marn, the guy who layed 10 to 1 on the Justin MagMan bet, that had to be one of the dumbest bets ever made in the free world.

well 100% combos from Karas are much worse than other characters, because Karas has an easier time landing hits.

I agree abt the 100% part since thats part and parcel of TvC but hrms the hype might not live up to what it is? :frowning: oh wells only sinsation will tell

im bored. i might pick up karas. i like his musics and animes

They should have used this as his character theme. My favourite tune from the Karas anime. Sure, it’s not as intense, but it’s still hella cool.

I can’t stand when people come to absolute conclusions about a game that’s still in the process of development. Even worse are those who wait for other people to evolve the metagame while sitting on their lazy chair claiming a certain character to be absolutely broken and/or unbeatable. Find a clip of someone completely destroying Karas and suddenly he’ll become “The New Karas Counter” or some bs.

Anyway, regarding the video… does it matter whether or not Karas does 623 A,B, or C before the baroque? I’m assuming the baroque lets him start the jab chain before they fly out of range.

I’ve been messing around with it and so far A looks like it. By itself, the character is launched too high. However, when you stagger the character (for example, the charging [4]6+A/B, into 623+A), you can then Baroque and get the combo. The cancel input should be as soon as possible.

What I’ve been doing to make sure the 2C hits as well as 623A hitting low enough to baroque and 5A is staggering my hits in the combo. Like for example after they are staggered 5AAA 5B pause 2B pause 5C pause 2C 623A BBQ mash A. Works for me. Just gotta eye them and make sure they drop low.

Alternatively you can try to not do pointless fancy shit and just BBQ the 2C instead and it does about the same damage with WAAAAAAAAY less chance of dropping it.

I just do a reset variant into baroque instead of this fancy stuff.

after an air re-juggle with megacrash, I do a ground reset setup with assist into unblockable into baroque for fresh ground combo. I can loop this until they do something to get out of it.

I still want to work on the other(fancy) setup because then I don’t have to stop the combo and let them have a chance to get out of it w/o megacrash.

I did my setup a few times during a tournament this weekend.

Well that’s their option. Either do something about it or play a different game.

Call it broken if you want, I just call it a fighting game. It’s not like I ever expect balance to begin with anyway :wonder:

:nunchuck:

Is that supposed to be a transcript from the video? I “DO” appreciate it if it is. I’m just curious.

^ Yes it is!

LMAO @ that Cinder vid. In a few months time we’ll be getting one of those for Karas hehe.

I like how some people just blindly spout whatever bs the influential players say.

Fighting games are not SUPPOSED to be broken or unfair. It’s actually a good thing if a game can be balanced.

Think for yourselves for a change, sheesh.

Anyway, Polymar assist is so retarded. Why bother with long blockstrings when you can get a free unblockable every other time? :stuck_out_tongue:

I actually looked up a few things about him after that ‘conversation’, that was a much more informative video though. Thanks.

Just a quick note, while I think it’s obvious that some things showcased in that video certainly qualify as “broken” in context of that game, namely the glitches, a good bit of the first part seemed really subjective… Is having an amazing cross up, combos, approach options, and reset options good? Of course it is, but it is the makings of a top(maybe even ‘god’) tier character, not a broken one.
The glitches, or the ones I assume were glitches, also seemed easily to ban, just as many communities choose to ban “broken” glitches.

In the video he posted today Mtran66 does something I’ve been messing around with more since the Kubo/Gian videos… I think Kubo actually does it once in that video too… that is: Combo>launch>MC>combo>assist>unblockable to reset the combo>baroque>repeat…

Due to the combo being reset at the unblockable and the assist hitting in the previous combo, you are allowed to baroque again and your assist has time to ‘recharge’. Since you are using BBQ to extend each combo it’s also safer(in that you have less to loose if you drop the combo because you are getting the BBQ benifit each ‘rep’) than going for the big BBQ as in Kubo’s combo and since each combo is longer due to BBQ you’re gaining more meter each time allowing you to do it longer and from less starting meter than Kubo’s.

Anyway, just something to throw out there… I don’t have people to help me test as much anymore so I can’t actually tell how solid the strategy would be(obviously counter supers seem to be a way to get out, though it also looks like the unblockable was a little late compared to the when it hit the first time), but in theory it seems solid.

Polymar doesnt get you free unblockables, just push block the first hit and jump out…

Oh. Did’t think of that.

That’s sort of a relief.

You make perfect sense to me but remember what forum you’re on. Close mindedness and stubbornness reign supreme here. The logic is pretty much, if it’s in the game, deal with it…no point in complaining anymore after this irrefutably amazing point. There are also people that think Karas is simply being overhyped , give it time and allow them to eat it when they see most if not all tournament finals consisting of Karas…

Oh wow I found the cinder cheese. All I can say is watch more of Kubo’s videos and pay real close attention to the shit he does with dashes. Can’t believe I didn’t notice it before, lol.
