I spoke to a friend today who told me he’s deducted the unspoken Karas brokenness known only by Marn and crew, by watching that vid. He’s assured me that we’re all wasting our time playing TvC.
This friend lives in the caribbean (I don’t believe he knows that crew personally, and is thus not dancing up to them or anything) and says we’re looking at Cinder (Killer Instinct) level broke material.
It won’t let you baroque more than once in a combo. What you said is true, you can megacrash and then baroque in a combo, but only if you haven’t already baroque’d. This is kind of like how you can’t use an assist more than once in a combo, they just don’t let it happen.
A bit offtopic, but I keep comparing Karas to Deoxes-R from Pokemon.
Faster than almost anything and with such amazing offense that if it hits you, you’re dead…but really fragile with a weakness to a certain skill (For Deoxys it’s priority attacks, for Karas it’s VCs)
Karas = Uber tier. lol
That combo seems like a huge waste of meter when he coulda just chained ryu to the other side and killed him with the non meter wasting non life eating other infinite. I mean it’s useful vs non infinitable characters but you still use up a ton of life and meter doing it. Worth learning atleast though. Honestly looks pretty easy to do too.
Evil Grunt, there’s actually only one baroque in the combo, and as yourmother said the game systems only allow one baroque per combo. No matter whether you MC or even continue the combo through switching out and switching back in the character. As long as the combo counter is still ticking that character will remain in baroque mode and unable to baroque again.
As for the sj.B, sj.B, jc.B, B, MC I have no idea…
I dunno, I suppose it’s just something most people are missing… Once we all see it, it will probably end up being painfully obvious too.
Never played much KI, but I’ve heard some pretty dumb things about Cinder and “wasting our time playing TvC” doesn’t sound too good. Even though this will probably turn out to be a “hold over” for me until SF4, I do genuinely like the game and hope it remains playable.
Most of my friends who initially liked and played the game have basically given it up due to what Karas can do now, I hardly ever get any actual matches anymore, at this point I’m more interested in this brokenness for curiosity’s sake.
People quitting because the game has a strong character are going to be really disappointed when the find out that nearly every game has one.
Everyone wave to Metaknight, Chun li, Eddie, O. Sagat, etc, etc.
Hehe after watching that video I’m glad I didn’t pre-reg for Winter Brawl yet. LOL if that’s all Karas has to do then why bother lmao. I hope possibly the metagame will change and people will start playing different but wow that was incredible yet sad at the same time.
Preaching to the choir, Kiets…
Probably doesn’t help that only two of us out of a group of eight or so actually have the game, and the other guy who has it is way more into HD Remix right now, so most rarely get to practice. Then when we do play, they get hit once or pushblock punished and it’s right into slide infinite or some really long assist/baroque combo which takes 75% life. I can’t really blame them for getting discouraged.
Anyway, sorry for getting this off topic again.
Well that’s true to a point. I mean there are reasons why we still play ST even tho O. Sagat is the shit, and one of them is that the gaps between characters aren’t that big. For me, I won’t play marvel seriously because I don’t want to play the same few chars as everyone else just to be competetive. On the other hand, I can go into ST and play frickin T. Hawk if I feel like it without fear of never being able to touch someone who plays O. Sagat, even tho it’s harder. That being said, I agree that people should calm down until we have real solid evidence that he’s unstoppable, which it really doesn’t look like so far.
Did we watch the same vid…? LOL The Ryu at the end got wrecked and right before he got lvl 2 to MC he died… If that isn’t broken then I don’t know what is. And i know there’s a whole 'nother emphasis on his low HP. True, Karas gets hit he’s probably done for but it’s just stupid how he can get one 2A on you and from that your character is gone (given the opponent doesn’t screw up)
At least Karas has one huge, obvious weakness, even though it’s hard to exploit it.
He’s not like…oh…NEGAI KINOSHITA from Gleam of Force, who has absolutely no weakness whatsoever.
This vid was from a set of vids uk, in some of which the same Karas gets totally creamed, I mean that should be proof enough. Secondly, that combo requires you have red health without dying, and 2 bars for a megacrash. I mean, it’s good, but seriously.
I understand you’re trying to keep the game playable but you have to admit brokenness when you see it. Of course he has a weakness…we all know what that is by now but regardless if he lands the first string of combos he’ll easily have 2 bars by then and Mega Crash is a major part of Karas gameplay right now so I doubt any Karas will seriously have to think whether or not they should use it to do more hits
I mean look, if anything…he can always switch out and heal the red life he has and then bring Karas back out to do some more raping so that really isn’t a problem. The baroque may be a problem but by the time the Karas “needs” to Baroque you’ll most likely already have tons of damage on you (once again, given the Karas doesn’t screw up).

That’s the vid I was talking about, it’s japanese according to the info and not UK.
So how is this any different than getting 2Bed at the start of the round and losing to an infinite? You guys act like something changed.
This is TvC. If you like it, play it. If you can’t handle not being able to make a mistake…welcome to fighting games.
Not being able to make a few mistakes is reasonable but vs. Karas it’s basically 1 or 2 mistakes which is kinda stupid so you can’t really say welcome to fighting games in terms of that. :wonder:
I agree with this…by the time it gets far enough into the match to pull off this combo, you should have 2 bars for megacrash anyways before you die, otherwise you’re doing something wrong.
Wow! Sure missed a lot since school started! Alright, that Mega Crash combo is not hard. I think I figured it out. Try it out everyone:
Karas corner: 5A->2A->5B->2B->5C(2-hits)->(you can get Ryu or someone that throws projectiles at your enemy)->[4]6+B->(hold9)j.A->(very minor delay)j.B (you should be landing now as your enemy slightly rises in the air)->(land)->5A(4 to 5 hits)->5B->(2B may miss, so if you’re not sure don’t risk it)->5C(2-hits)->3C(launcher)->follow them! sj.B->sj.B->(hold 9 for the second super jump i.e. double jump)->Mega Crash!-(delay a little, you should be following your enemy with the fall)j.B->ground dash 5A (4 to 5 hits)->5B->2B(again, if you’re not sure, don’t use it!)->5C (2-hits)-> 3C (launcher)->whatever you want.
The trick with the Mega Crash is to do the second jump (i.e. double jump) and THEN Mega Crash! I hope this helps everyone! Now onto figuring out how to Baroque his uppercut to do some crazy stuff!:looney:
The super jump b->b, double jump b->b-> Mega Crash looks like it can be done while I’m in Baroque…can’t get it without being in it otherwise. And I have my stick in neutral when I do it too. Timing is slightly tricky though, just practice.
I don’t think it was necessary to post that since they can just copy directly from the video but hey if people find it easier to read it instead of look at it lol.
Hey man, I’m just trying to help.
I certainly find it easier to read it.
When I do combos, I usually recite the commands in my head instead of just muscle memory.
