Third Strike on PSN/XBL is going to make a lot of people very happy.
GGs all. maybe i should start drinking coffee on fridays, i was feelin’ hella groggy.
also, i’m looking for a teammate for max out. hopefully hector and i can have another fuerte/fuerte team, but, uh, who knows.
I lol’d
I agree with chris and le about SFxT i think the concept is horrible imo. Especially since they say namco will be making there own version of the game. Tekken with a SF engine sounds sketchy as it is, let alone the other way around.
eh give it a chance I say. What they showed was a ridiculously early build. I have faith.
I do as well. I got super hype at seeing Kazuya and Ryu just in stances facing off. I’m sure it will at LEAST be fun. Tournament game? We’ll see. I’ll prolly still buy both.
I just watched the trailer again and it literally made me sick to my stomach. So far there is no sign of a air juggle so it kinda has a CvS feel to it I suppose, but it just doesn’t look like it live to the expectations of the players. If the game comes out and only SF4 players only played SxT and vise versa for T6 players then whats the point in trying to merge the two games if all they are trying to do is get more players to play each other? Gawd I am in such disbelief right now. I’ll just play MvC3 since I know I would probably like that more then this crossover. Hell I would rather play BBCS than SxT. whatever thats enough venting.
Anywho ggs last night fellas. I honestly dont think I play that much on hook ups anymore but I guess I am filling up my booze and smoke quota for the week.
Sean - I wanna see some fire pit loops bro. Pics or it didn’t happen.
Deron - I know all you were trying to do was hype dave up so that you could wipe the floor with him next week at the tournament
Kong - DP for footsies all day son. Thanks for the info on Cammy. Having both you and Sean as references will make playing her allot of fun.
Nick - I dont understand Guy at all. i know he is a bad character fundamentally so you gotta tell me all his shenanigans one day so it will never happen again.
I enjoyed seeing the crew again. I am not good yet at least in my eyes. Yeah I may be able to take a round or two just by guessing and making people miss but missing out on on 200-300 damage when I miss a combo hurts my game a lot.
I would like to make that, but it’s so close, and I don’t think I’d have money for it. T_T Not to mention, my 21st in on the 12th, so I might not be in working order that day lol.
Yo anyone who is up for games tonight text me at 913 207 9155
My man has the HUNGER.
I am going to get some games in with sang before I head back to kc on Thursday. Probably going to be at least 3-4 hours.
Then I will get my combos crispy, hopefully.
Two of my mates just got fightsticks the other day and we had a night of breaking em in along with some gamecube reminiscing!
A question i came up with though is there any worthwhile differences between the normal SF fightstick and the Tourney edition one?
Im starting to figure i kinda suck with everybody in street fighter, im kind of a mixed bag if someone could whoop my akuma, seth, balrog, and dan, (and possibly juri) id love for someone to tell me who to actually pursue and who to drop altogether!
and as for the puzzle leaguers… is anyone bringing a setup this friday? and if so… is anyone Super-hard difficulty tier? :razzy:
As far as Fightsticks are concerned, the TE’s that madcatz produces are simply the best on the market because of the parts used in them. They have the best and most durable sticks/buttons available. The price difference is there because you are paying for quality. If you’re planning on being a competitive gamer, the TE’s are the natural choice. If you are playing at a casual level, and won’t practice a lot, then you can get away with something cheaper.
Character choice depends largely on your personality and personal style. There are 3 ways to select a character (from my own opinion)
-
You are playing to win. I.E. You pick top tier characters that either most suit your style, or have the most good matchups. You may even pick a character you don’t particularly like simply because they are so strong. Counterpicking also falls under this category. Learning characters to supplement your main characters bad matchups. Usually, counterpicks are also from the top/high tiers.
-
You play suited to your own personal style. If you are more a zoner, then characters like Guile, Sagat, Dee Jay, Seth and Dhalsim are for you. If you play a rushdown game, then Rufus, Cammy, Makoto, and Ibuki are your forte. And if you play a more balanced game with a bit of both, then characters like Ryu, Akuma, Chun Li, Ken, Boxer, Bison and Gouken are for you.
-
You pick a character you like for THEIR unique personality, regardless of their placement on the tier listing. (unfortunately, I usually see the fanboys, online scrubs, mashers, and generally weakest players in their category, there are a few exceptions, but generally those are exceptions to the rule)
If you are new to fighting games, this can be a really rough process, full of changes, and starting from scratch over and over. If you are not, however, simply look at your past choices, and your level of comfort with those characters, and you will know what kind of player you are individually, and where to go from here.
If anybody has xbl, hit me up this week post haste, need to get some matchups goin with my bison.
Good advice from Axiom. In addition to #2, also consider what makes a character unique, what they excel at, and what the execution curve is.
Edit: 2 seasons of Chappelle and Lost Episodes on Netflix. Shit is so good. YEEEAAAAAAAAH
Why hello everyone, I see in my absence while in Arkansas all weekend nothing really changed.
Kong’s Cammy leveled up that much in 1 week? Last week his Cammy was just, meh to me. I have a feeling it still is :arazz:
and Nick I’m not sure execution curve should be any kind of deciding factor in a character choice (Although with some people I’m sure it is). If character difficulty chases you away from a character, then maybe trying to be competitive at a fighting game isn’t a good choice.
I agree with John’s character choice breakdown. The main reason he mentions #3 usually being filled with scrubs because a lot of people blind themselves with gimmicks of a character and forget the core game play. Hell, I fall into that category somewhat, nothing like some good old trolling shenanigans. Super charge to wall jumps, what? :looney:
Oh and John, it’s true that I haven’t played Tekken seriously since like week 3 of Tekken 6 but I can still beat Dave. All I need to do is keep my eyes open…or at least one of them…half way open.
Oh and Fuck SFxTekken and TekkenxSF…seriously, while certain tekken characters will translate fine to SF, the move of SF to Tekken is physically making me sick thinking about it. IF they make 2 games to try and highlight the strengths of each I will be pissed, that’s just money grubbing. GAHHHHHH RAGE
see everyone this Friday!
I play Ryu for his personality.
Dave vs Boxy Tekken ft5 Friday. Too much smack talk for this to not happen. Lets goooooooooo.
I will play King up to my 4th loss (I wont lose 4…)
