So I was out of the country for all of last week and apparently there were a bunch of fighting game related announcements
Fill me in on any I’m missing

- ASW’s announcement was AH3 (meh)
- SFvTekken. Tekken characters SF4-style look stupid, not sure about the gameplay yet
- MvC3. Amaterasu and Thor announced
- SF3:3S being ported to XBLA and PSN. Not sure how I feel about this…
- SSF4 arcade version is being tested in Japanese arcades now, and there are two new character slots (Q pl0x)
I’ll be there this Friday, but I’m gonna be skipping Max Out this Saturday
Side note: I may have recruited new blood for BBCS (and they’re new blood for fighting games in general) so if you see me w/ some new guys this Friday, expect some free wins :lol:
EDIT: John, I would say Seth is more of a balanced character IMO. He can zone and rushdown, the effectiveness of each just depends on the matchup generally

It’s pretty unfortunate, but I think BBCS is going to be garbage all over again. Looking at the frequency in character selection from available videos, plus the vast amount of data that people have gathered already on Dustloop regarding the tier list, it’s looking almost as bad as CT all over again.
Rebalancing my ass. All they did was neuter Rachel and Jin, slap around Arakune and Nu a bit, and Buff the goddamned hell out of Bang and Litchi, with Ragna hanging out right next to the top tier. Litchi and Bang have NO bad matchups at all… what…? Even in CT Rachel was weak against Nu, Nu was weaker against Tao and Bang, and Arakune was weak against Nu…
If none of the new characters strike my fancy, I probably won’t play this game for too long. Jin is trash now, and Ragna being that good means that I’ll be playing more dittos than I’d like to think about, should I decide that I don’t like any of the new characters. We’ll see on Tuesday, I suppose.

I like it when people post tournaments in our threads. Of course, MN is a bit far for a non-major, but hey, stranger things have happened. Maybe someone would want to go. I don’t mind at all. I post Maxout in other peoples threads regularly, and we’ve had people here from Oklahoma, Nebraska, Missouri (STL), Iowa, and of course, all different parts of Kansas.
I’m more surprised that FullBleed got a response. I thought it was some kind of automated shit when I saw it was posted in all 3 of the stickies.
But even then, most of the people that have played CS say it is more balanced than CT. I think this is partly due to the fact that the good characters are rushdown and not zoners.
Also, Ark System Works has promised 3 DLC and in January or so, they are going to be releasing a free rebalance patch to address the issues you mention. However, till then, Tsubaki and Rachel are not good and I don’t think anyone will fight the fact that CS doesn’t have some issues. That said, I have hope that ASW can release a good balance patch later on after all the DLC characters are out.

@NeoNova : i started SF4 this way simply because i couldnt grasp FADC (i wasnt reading forums or do any kind of homework) thus i switched to fuerte mainly because he was fun but also because people didnt know how to react to his play style. So right off the bat, i looked like a really good player to all my scrub friends… as i got in deeper with the SRK crew, i quickly learned how ass i really was. Then i started doin my homework, hours in training mode, reading forums, trying everyone in the cast, Then it clicked… i actually loved fuerte… then i spent the next 9 months learning to play him… i would say over a year and a half of SF4 and about a year of actually trying to be a GOOD Fuerte player… im mid tier in KC (which means im still pretty ass)
so NeoNova, be sure NOT TO FOLLOW THIS PATH! OMFG its so not worth it. But i talk from both sides of my face- as i have much better win ratios with my backup characters, Fuerte is still my main by a longshot. I’m STILL learning and grinding and devoting lotws of time to be a decent challenge. So again, follow the path GetThere1Time did, play a top tier character to make wins come easier and make your venture into the competitive fighting game scene better. Along the way, as Nick did, you can learn the game and actually get good. Then you can try harder characters- again like Nick is doing now… Nick is pretty smart
@ Nick1Time- you gay. I like you. I am glad to see you trying new characters but i think you should stick to Rufus. Take your own advice. (When it counts that is, casuals is whatevs)

Jspot - I’m gonna keep playing Rufus. His bad matchups aren’t really anything new to me. They’re just properly listed now. As much as I’d love to whore out a top tier character, I don’t think there’s any character that’s so far ahead of the pack that I should consider dropping a character I’ve put so much work into. Super is a very balanced game imo.
