I need some tips for developing my execution. It seems like it isn’t getting better at all. I’m not sure if I should be running drills in training mode or what. I screw up things all the time. For example I’ll get rainbow roll instead of vertical roll or whiff a super or something like that. I feel this is the biggest detriment to my game so any help would be appreciated.

Yeah dude, just get into training mode and work on it till you are comfortable. Make sure to switch sides, maybe practice extra long if you are weak at execution on a certain side. Keep practicing till you don’t even have to think about it, it should become effortless. That way, you can just do whatever you need to do whenever you need to do it, without a moment of hesitation.

So my three friends and I are starting to get into the SSIV scene and i finally found this thread! Were all ex-smash players, and i was into tourney level play :rock: Anyway, what times do you guys meet up to do round robins? Are there friendlies too? and most importantly, how many TV’s are there?

I am seeing allot of new blood these days and especially within the last few months. First I like to say welcome to the scene to NeoNova. Also to clearify any questions to Neonova if you play on a pad we all play on PS3 setups here although we do have an Xbox setup. We also have players who play more than just street fighter so if you or if any of your friends want comp in other games just ask.

Also congrats to all the new guys who weren’t scared to play in the RR Friday. Not saying anyone is just that I love seeing this scene grow. The KC fight scene I knew started as guys who played Tekken and now it grew to this. Like I use to have a dream and that was to own and operate an arcade. Now with arcades dead and 5 everyone moving to consoles I feel that this is the next best thing and I like to thank everyone for making this happen.

I have a new goal in life…to hit Blarge with this combo that I just came up with for Dudely vs. Seth:

j.HP, c.HP, s.HK, EX MGB, cr.RH (stun) j.HP, c.HP, s.HK, Ducking Upper, FADC, c.lp (x2), s.HK, MP Jet Upper, FADC, cr.RH, cr.RH, U2

I haven’t fully landed it yet in practice mode since it contains 3, 1 frame links (c.HP, s.HK x2, and the double cr.RH at the end…and actually ducking upper, FADC, c.lp might be 1 frame as well but I don’t find it that hard)

I have landed the first part and second part separately but never all together. I’m hoping to reach over the 700dmg mark but I’m not sure what the end damage is yet…

If anybody else wants to be the first to try and land this combo be my guest. I haven’t seen this combo in vids or posted on the Dudley boards (until I just posted it), it’s actually a 5 bar combo since you can earn the last bar before the second FADC.

EDIT: Well, finally hit it…681 for damage. For whatever reason Dudley just can’t seem to break the 700 barrier that I’ve seen. Also I think since I start with a counter hit the first c.HP, s.HK is really a 2 frame link but I now feel like the dash upper, FADC, jabs is a 1 frame so thats still 3, 1 framers with a 2 framer to start.

I play on an xbox 360 pad Atm, not really commited/ (skilled) enough to make the transition to a arcade stick yet
well like mentioned before i play a profecient brawl game, and i could play some melee and TVC if i practiced up! And i wouldnt be able to come tomorrow, friday at earliest because my older friend (and ride) is on vacation for a couple days. And ill just throw out that i RAPE at pokemon/planet puzzle league type games, so if anyone miraculously plays one of those games, your challenge is here!

NeoNova - Welcome to the boards. Arkive is your Smash guy. Talk to him about Smash hook ups but there’s like a less than 1% chance that we actually play Smash at our hook ups. None of us really play TvC either. It kinda came and went fast. As far as puzzle games go, if you like to play Super Puzzle Fighter, boxbrosg is the Puzzle Fighter champion of the universe. I wish I were kidding. He’s a monster. We’re primarily Street Fighter and Tekken here with a side of BlazBlue, Guilty, Melty Blood, and whatever other PS2 shenanigans they want to play on the back TV.

Don’t worry about how good you are starting out. Just come, hang out, and get some games in. We’re all out here to have fun and improve.

P.S. If you’re serious about getting better, don’t play Dan. Dan is ass.

Training mode is your best friend. What I find works best is writing down the moves/combo string on paper before you start. That way you can have it handy for a quick reference while you play. Practice the move/combo facing left, practice the move/combo while facing right. Practice, practice, practice… Then, once you feel you got it down, try doing it in a match against other people. It just takes time. Good luck!

Like GetThere-Nick has said Arkive is the Smash guy… You may also want to hit up Roblox. Although he rarely posts here, he does host stuff on Thursdays from time to time and like 75% of the Roblox’s Thursday crew play Smash64/Melee/Brawl/Brawl+/Brawl- on at least one setup. They run tournaments from time to time on Thursdays as well.

I wish I could say TvC had some kind of scene here but that isn’t the case. I’d love to get more rounds of TvC in with people but the interest has gotten very low since SSF4 came out. Last I checked, it’s still a tournament at Maxout, so you’ll be able to get in a few TvC matches there.
