Yeah, so much focus on the “top-seller” characters.
I did some testing and

not a bad game
any top tier vids for it?
Im still considering the tier list, but so far Dark Decade seems to be top tier, with his basic form being more powerful than most of characters’ secondary forms. Heck, he has highest defence rating in game, and can pull a 81% of lifebar combo (will do 81% on medium defence chars like Decade) with simple ?+(111), (222); and he still has post-combo taunts that give +1 Rider Gauge stock, and still has that unblockable shot Support Attack, and all of his KamenRide forms have their attack and defence buffed as well
Btw, covered normals/combos damage and special move damage for Kuuga, Agito and Ryuki already, will probably do few more chars before next update

How about this Cheat ?
http://schiphol.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/gameurawaza/1249427266/93-
I tried, well I cant seem to make them work at my PCSX2 yet.
Probably the simplest version of cheats posted was (Pro Arcade Max cheats)

3CDBF380 1456E7xx
3CDBF384 1456E7xx

xx?Nega Den-O?9B, Ryuga?9C, Dark Kabuto?B5, Gatack?B6, AutoVajin?B7, G3-X?B8
Maybe someone can confirm if this certainly works on original console or on PCSX2 (maybe there is some other way of inputting and I did something wrong, I dont know if the combination should be pressed, or held, if held then how long, and should it be used between rounds or when…)
I added codes with Misc->Patch Browser->Add RAW->Enable

I figured a way around winpose glitch, which means now game runs perfectly on PC.
Since many people asked about good PCSX2 setup, I thought I would post it:
(its not a discussion of illegal bios/roms, since anybody can dump their own bios, and make a rom image out of game they bought)
PCSX2 r498 / r1159 (I tested on two those revisions, I would say game would work on any revision, but latest PCSX2 releases had overall gameplay slowdown)
VIDEO PLUGIN: GSdx 0.1.15-r1340 or r1406
_Resolution: any
(I recommend Windowed)
_Rendered: Direct3D9 (Hardware)
_Shader: any
(I recommend Pixel Shader 3.0 if its supported by your videocard)
_Interlacing: any
(I recommend Blend bff, its seemingly the best out of video filters)
_Aspect Ratio: 4:3
_D3D internal res: any
(I recommend using multiple out of game’s native 640x448 resolution - i.e. 1280x896, or 2560x1792 etc)
_Texture Filtering: on
_Logarithmic Z: on
SOUND PLUGIN: ZeroSPU2 0.4.4 / ZeroSPU2S 0.4.6 (IMPORTANT! Game will hang on winposes if other from ZeroSPU plugin is used!)
_Time Scaling: on
_Real Time mode: on
CONTROLLER: any
(I recommend using SSPSX PAD Plugin Pressure Mod as basic one, or LilyPad as advanced one - it allows to map one button to several buttons/devices like to both keyboard and gamepad)
BIOS: any
(here should come usual stuff about “you should use only bios you dumped yourself from your PS2”, “asking for bios files is illegal”, “google is your friend” etc; which Im sure everyone saw a million times)
CPU
_EERec: on
_VU0rec: on
_VU1rec: on
_MTGS: on
_Frame Limiting: either “Limit” or “VU Skip” on 60-9999-2-1 setting; “VU Skip” will make game run faster if its too slow on “Limit”

Thanks, I’m going to try out this game later today. I have no knowledge of Kamen Rider whatsoever though.
It’s a shitty game if you aren’t a KR fan… that’s the whole point
Good, I like to play shitty and obscure fighting games.
Well, I wouldnt label it as “shitty”, taken that a number of latest Mortal Kombat games sported far worse gameplay system. Climax Heroes gameplay system takes most of modern fighting game features (it even has Tekken 6 ground bounce incorporated in combos) and mixes it with easy and intuitive controls that allow to get into game quicker. It has its share of depth, and is hella fun to play, especially with friends.
As for obscurity, its no more obscure that the whole Kamen Rider franchise, which is one of Japan’s top superhero franchises, running from 1971 up to our days.
Anyway, since I thought about including some short biographies and unmasked photos of Riders in the guide (since not all people have knowledge of KR / watches shows, etc), so I thought why dont I try to put it here and then mesh it better for the guide.
Kamen Rider means “Masked Rider”, and signature things to every such character are: 1)Ability to “Henshin” (transform) from human into superpowered form in some special costume/armor, 2)Riding on bike, hence “Rider”, 3)Fighting forces of evil using martial arts and said superpowers. 4)One of finishing moves is a signature “Rider Kick”, commonly a flying kick attack. Commonly, enemies attack normal humans, and then Rider character comes to help using his powers.
Now to give a quick idea what are the characters (I mostly talk about playable characters/forms)
Kuuga: harnesses an artifact called Arcle Belt to gain power of ancient warrior that protected Linto civilization (ancestors of current humanity) from Grongi Tribe. Grongi Tribe posesses ability to transform into monsters to kill people for their ruthless game, referred to in their language as the “Gegeru”, it was sealed by ancient Kuuga but seal breaks in present days and Grongi are revived. Yuusuke Godai is young, multi-talented man who fights to protect everyone’s smiles. He had the Arcle belt fused with him for first time he used it to fight Grongi, which turned him into Kuuga. Kuuga can access many different forms, and also can alter any item he has into a weapon by temporarly changing its atomic structure. The giant flying bug that accompanies him is another ancient artifact, called Gouram.

Ingame secondary form: Dragon Form (enhances speed, decreases strength and stamina)
Ingame secondary form: Pegasus Form (enhances senses and accuracy, gives long-range fighting capabilities)
Ingame secondary form: Titan Form (enhances strength and stamina, decreases speed)
Ingame miscellaneous form: Amazing Mighty Form
Agito: Shoichi Tsugami is a young man who had lost his memories, and seemingly for no reason is able to transform into Agito, a mystical warrior infused with essence of Overlord of Light. Legends of Linto Tribe state that long ago, there existed two entities, one being the embodiment of light while the other was embodiment of darkness. These twin ‘brothers’ co-existed in harmony for a time, eventually creating our world. However, neither could agree on who would reign over their creation and a battle for control took place. In the end, Overlord of Darkness triumphed over his brother. But with his dying breath, Overlord of Light bestowed his essence upon humanity–the power of Agito–with the hopes that, one day, they would evolve beyond control of his brother. But Overlord of Darkness refused to let this occur, taking it upon himself to personally eliminate the vessels of Agito, and for this task he created a group of powerful disciples called Lords (basically, Overlord is a god, and Lords are his angels). In the past, Lords acted as protectors of humanity, defending the Linto Tribe from Grongi, but in present days when power of Agito started to awaken within humans, Lords started to target the humans who posessed potential to evolve into Agito. Agito is a broad term, but mainly refers Kamen Rider Agito (Shoichi Tsugami), who was one of the first being awakened as Agito. With time, he achieves different forms that mark stages of his endless evolution.
Ingame basic form: Ground Form (harnesses power of earth)
Ingame secondary form: Trinity Form (harnesses power of ground, wind and flame)
Ingame miscellaneous form: Burning Form (translates Agito’s fury into power)
Ryuki: a journalist called Shinji Kidou finds a Advent Deck while investigating a series of mysterious disappearances, thus becoming one of 13 people who received Advent Card decks from mysterious man to become Kamen Riders. Such people make Contracts with monsters from the mysterious Mirror World, a parallel dimension opposite to our own in which only the Kamen Riders can exist. The Riders draw on their monsters’ strength in exchange for feeding them the life force of the creatures they destroy. The creator of the Advent Cards has only one rule: that there can be only one Kamen Rider. The others must be killed, and the sole victor will be granted a single wish. This is the Rider War. Ryuki’s Contract Monster is Dragredder, the “Matchless Dragon”, which is the reason his armor and weaponry share dragon motif. The good-hearted, friendly, naive Shinji is forced to fight both Mirror World monsters that attack people from reflective surfaces, and other Kamen Riders in Rider War. Seeing how much suffering it brings, he wants to stop the Rider War ata ll costs. He later gains special Survive card which triggers his change into Survive Form and evolves Dragredder into Dragranzer.

Faiz: The Smart Brain Corporation, the world’s most powerful corporation, is trying to take over the world using Orphenoch, the next stage in humanity’s evolution, to covertly kill off the human population. In pursuit of this, they develop three suits of power armor, called Rider Gear (Delta, Faiz, and Kaixa), to find and protect the Orphenoch King, who can fix a defect within Orphenoch DNA which causes their genetic structure to break down, leading to death. Yet Rider Gears are stolen by former President of Smart Brain Corporation, who sends them to his foster children (dubbed the Ryuseiji, after the school they attended) so they can stop the Orphenoch from achieving their goal. Inui Takumi is a young loner bent on not getting into relationships with people out of fear of somehow betraying them, traveling without any self-confidence or lifelong dream of his own. He is unwillingly drawn into the conflict between the Orphenoch and humans and becomes Kamen Rider Faiz to save the life of Mari Sonoda, one of the Ryuseiji. The Smart Brain Corporation begins targeting him in an attempt to retrieve the Faiz Gear. Faiz draws his powers from technology, and his bike can also transform into his personal support mecha, AutoVajin.
Ingame basic form: Faiz Form
Ingame secondary form: Axel Form (allows to move at speed of sound for limited period of time + increases physical strength)
Blade: Ten thousand years ago, a massive battle known as the Battle Royal was fought by fifty-two Undead, each representing a species fighting for dominance over all others. The winner was the Human Undead, known as Category Two of Hearts, giving dominion of the Earth to humanity. In the present day, archaeologists discover the sealed Undead, and accidentally set them free. Thus, a new Battle Royal begins. The organisation called BOARD develops two Rider Systems based on the Joker’s ability to copy sealed Undead, and gives them to their operatives in order to protect humans from Undead and seal them. Kazuma Kenzaki, who became orphan from young age, was scouted by BOARD because of his intelligence and exceptional survival tactics, and was promoted to field operative and designated user of Rider System-02. Rider System-02 harnesses the DNA of Beetle Undead Rouse Card, utilizing the Blay Buckle Rider System to fuse the Beetle Undead’s DNA with Kazuma’s, transforming him into Kamen Rider Blade. Blade can access powers of Undeads of Spade Suit (those that are already sealed). Due to Kenzaki’s abnormally high fusion rate, instead of fusing with King card for King form, he fuses with whole Spade Suit.

Hibiki: For hundreds of years, a secret organisation (comparable to a ninja clan) called Takeshi, has been defending Japan against the threats imposed by an assortment of monstrous creatures called Makamou (series’ name for youkai, japanese folklore monsters). The combatant agents of Takeshi are known as Oni (japanese name for species of demons that love to fight). Upon becoming Oni, person gains a demonic Oni form, with its human form being used only as a decoy, and with its human name being abandoned completely in favour of Oni name. Demonic powers of their newfound bodies, intensive training and use of advanced weaponry grant Oni amazing fighting abilities. Their main weapons double as musical instruments, whose ‘pure’ sounds are the only means to purge the evil spirits of the Makamou. Oni follow a one-master-one-apprentice tradition. When a person transforms into an Oni (awakening his Oni face crest with Pure Sound), the persons’ clothes are often burnt up or sliced to pieces in the process, revealing their true demonic form. One needs to have righteous heart to control his Oni power, otherwise person succumbs to power and becomes an evil demon - then headquarters decide if such Oni should be eliminated.
Hibiki is one of the most seasoned Oni currently in service, and was known as Hitoshi Hidaka before his name was abandoned. It is not known exactly when he began his training, but it is said that Hibiki became an Oni training alone and has surpassed all former Oni. Hibiki has a strong sense of ethics and believes constantly training oneself to keep up their strength. He uses pair of Taiko drumsticks as his weapon, with drumming techniques being accommodated into his fighting style.

Ingame secondary form: Hibiki Kurenai (“Crimson Echo Demon”)
Kabuto: one of Masked Rider Systems created by ZECT organisation to fight alien Worms. Worms are alien lifeforms seem to take pride in stealing human identities and then killing them. They arrived when the Shibuya Meteorite crashed into Earth seven years ago. Souji Tendou is a a mysterious, quiet 21-year old man who often seems to follow monk-like philosophies of peace, and has own philosophy about life and everything around it. He has trained seven years while waiting for the Kabuto Zecter (a mobile device able to affect space/time, it appears instantly from ZECT headquarters and attaches to Rider Belt, triggering transformation) so that he may properly take up the name of Kamen Rider Kabuto and fight Worms menace. He was chosen by Kabuto Zecter even though he as rider isnt authorised by ZECT and is time to time hunted by ZECT forces to be stripped out of his rider status. Since Worms are able to “melt”, achieving forms that are able to travel at near-light speeds, Masked Rider System has access to Clock Up mode which influences flow of time, allowing Rider to match speed of the Worm. Kabuto’s Rider Kick is powered by tachyon particles.

Den-O: Ryotarou Nogami is a young man with a lot of bad luck. One day, he finds a strange pass, and is picked by large time-travelling train called DenLiner. He becomes aware that he is a Singularity Point who is unaffected by flow of time, and as such, is given the power of Den-O to protects flow of time from actions of evil Imagin, the creatures from the future who have come to the year 2007 in hopes of changing the past to alter their future to their liking. To reach this goal, Imagin grant the wishes of weak-hearted humans and then go back in time to that individual’s most precious memory. As Singularity Point, Ryotarou he also can resist the control of an Imagin contracted to him, as long as he’s conscious.
Each different Imagin that posesses him gives him unique personality for the duration of their possession. Each of his personality changes affect the color of his eyes and a strand of his hair, changing its color to match the Imagin.
-Momotaros causes Ryotarou to assume the mannerisms of a self-absorbed punk. His hair spikes up slightly with a single red streak and he gains more muscular definition and the physical strength to go with it. He takes on an extremely rash and ignorant personality, exactly like Momotaros. He then has access to Sword Form of Den-O.
-Urataros causes Ryotarou to assume the mannerisms of a teen idol casanova with the right words to woo women and convince almost anybody. His hair is straight and calm and has a single blue streak going through it. He also wears a pair of black rimmed eyeglasses. He takes on a very professional and crafty personality, exactly like Urataros. He then has access to Rod Form of Den-O.
-Kintaros causes Ryotarou to assume the mannerisms of a martial artist. His hair grows such that he has a ponytail with a golden yellow streak through it. He takes on a very noble and firm personality, exactly like Kintaros. However, his increased strength often results in self-injury and clumsiness. He then has access to Axe Form of Den-O.
-Ryutaros causes Ryotarou to assume the mannerisms of a hip-hop break dancer, incorporating it into everything he does. He grows one long purple and black streak of hair and is always seen wearing a brown cap. His reckless personality infests itself upon Ryotaro, and usually causes him to destroy whatever is around if he gets out of control. He then has access to Gun Form of Den-O
-Liner Form is controlled solely by Ryotarou, without Imagin possession, however they can communicate with Ryotarou via DenKamen Sword that he wields.
DenLiner is Den-O’s transportation system, a bullet train mainly used for traveling to other times, as well as launching attacks against enemies. In the game, it is used for support attacks.
Ingame basic form: Sword Form
Ingame secondary form: Rod Form, Ax Form, Gun Form
Ingame miscellaneous form: Liner Form
Zeronos: Yuto Sakurai is another Kamen Rider which protects the flow of time, and Den-O’s rival. He believes that saving people is unnecessary if it means disrupting the flow of time even if it means sacrifices must be made to save the future, and would also use dishonest methods to get the job done. He utilizes Zeronos Cards to activate the transformation process. A Zeronos Card disappears after use, which limits the number of times the Zeronos transformation can be achieved as each time a card disappears. The cards represent the memories of people who know real-life Zeronos, thus continues use erases his existence from memories of people who are not Singularity Points. Zeronos has one contract imagin, Deneb, whom he uses to access extra Vega Form, begin able to access Altair Form and later Zero Form at his own (without being possessed). His time-travelling train is ZeroLiner, a steam locomotive.
Ingame basic form: Altair Form
Ingame secondary form: Vega Form
Ingame miscellaneous form: Zero Form
Kiva: Fangires are stained glass-based vampires who feed off of the Life Energy of humans to survive, with which they can disguise themselves as humans. Wataru Kurenai is a shy young violinist who is half-human, half-Fangire and lives in an infamous “haunted house”. He works to continue his father’s legacy with a dream to create his own ultimate violin. When Fangire attack humans, his father’s violin called Bloody Rose sounds, pinpointing Fangire location. Wataru then teams up with Kivat-bat III to become Kamen Rider Kiva and protect humans. Kiva power was passed down on Fangire King lineage to form armor of current Fangire King, but as Wataru is human-Fangire hybrid, his initial Kiva form is restrained with Catena Chains to control its power and prevent it form avoking Wataru’s Fangire blood. Kiva can use various fuestles to summon Arms Monsters (weapons that influence him to change into werewolf-, merman- and frankenstein-based forms as opposed to original vampire-based form), Castle Doran (Kiva’s base of operations, which is a Great Wyvern bonded to the mold of castle), or shatter Catena Chains on his right leg is known as Hell Gate, unsealing its destructive power to perform Darkness Moon Break finisher. Later, Kiva becomes able to summon a small dragon called Tatsulot, which breaks Catena Chains allowing to use true form of Kiva known as Emperor Form. With this form, Kiva can destroy both the body and the soul of a Fangire. Initially Emperor Form fights unarmed, although it can summon Arms Monsters as well; this changes once Kiva comes in posession of Zanvat Sword, a sword of great power crafted and used by the previous Fangire King.
Ingame basic form: Kiva Form
Ingame secondary form: Emperor Form
IXA: Ixa system was developed by Blue Sky organisation as a means to fight Fangire menace; its motif is that of paladin. Early prototype was present even back in 1986, being able to access Save Mode only (which saved energy eventually causing system to overheat and stop functioning altogether), and having Ixa Knuckle as both its weapon and transformation device. In 2008 its no longer a prototype and is upgraded with Burst Mode, where the faceplate that covers Ixa’s eyes in Save Mode opens up. Burst mode creates a burst of heat (which was saved by Save Mode) that damages everything in range when transforming from Save Mode. Aside of Ixa Knuckle, it uses a new gunblade weapon called Ixa Calibur, and posesses ability to hijack Arms Monsters weapons as they are summoned by Kiva, by copying their frequency. Its primary wearer in 2008 is Keisuke Nago, an elite member of Blue Sky Organisation who works as a bounty hunter and has a belief in “humanity’s full potential” (which gives him the impression of a superiority complex). Although he has a sense of righteousness, Nago’s perspective on it is warped in his desire to purge the world of evil, refusing to accept the world in grey and going berserk whenever he loses a fight or is denied his quarry.
Decade: Tsukasa Kadoya doesnt knows who he was and how he came to be. An amnesiac rider with mysterious origins, he was told to travel the nine previous worlds of the Heisei Kamen Riders to prevent their merging into one, something that would destroy all the worlds. However as Decade, he is seen as an agent of destruction, usually being called “the devil”, a rumor spread by prophet Narutaki, who believes Tsukasa does not belong in any world. He recovered his Decadriver belt during one of earlies collisions of worlds; although he doesnt remembers much about it, its rumored to be produced by DaiShocker, an evil organisation bent on world domination. Decadriver allows him to transform into imitation of any previous Kamen Rider with access to that respective Rider’s powers and weapons, with the use of Rider Cards. In his default form, he is armed with RideBooker, a weapon which has three modes: Gun Mode, Sword Mode and Book Mode (the latter being used to store Rider Cards).
Ingame basic form: Decade Form
Ingame secondary forms: imitations of Kuuga/Agito/Ryuki/Faiz/Blade/Hibiki/Kabuto/Den-O
DiEnd: Daiki Kaitoh is a mysterious young man who is portrayed as being cheerful to the extent of being annoying to those around him, but becomes serious in battle and sees material objects as more important than anything else. He acts as thief and treasure hunter, scourging the worlds in search of their ultimate treasures, and acting as Decade’s rival. He transforms using gun-like Diendriver, which was seemingly stolen by him from DaiShocker organisation. Diendriver functions both as firearm weapon and as means to use Rider Cards (same as Decade). Unlike Decade who transforms into another Kamen Rider, Diend uses his KamenRide cards to summon other Kamen Riders to do fighting for him.
Ingame basic form: DiEnd Form
Dark Decade: Mysterious man who looks like another Tsukasa Kadoya, too posessing powers of Decade. He claims to be the “real one” and fights Tsukasa, apparently seeing him as an impostor. He is clearly evil, and is set to first appear in in December 12, 2009 Decade movie.
Ingame basic form: Dark Decade Form
Ingame secondary forms: imitations of Kuuga/Agito/Ryuki/Faiz/Blade/Hibiki/Kabuto/Den-O
Better idea, Wikipedia, nuff said
Played around a bit, I think it’s a fun game :woot:
I’m not entierly sure of what’s going on, but the guide helps. So far I think I will go with Ixa. He’s cool.
Jumping, and especially air attacks/specials, feel pretty odd.
And it sucks that the game uses more buttons then my stick has, but then again I don’t think a stick is that neccesary for this game. Still, being able to bind double buttons to things like form change would have been nice.
Gonna try playing it with my bro next time we see each other, who knows maybe we’ll start watching one of these Kamen Rider shows.
