Not a whole lot. Followup into close mk launcher is maybe 1 or 2 frames.
i don’t even think its possible. i tried it many times and no dice. i guess i will just combo into rekkas.
It’s definitely possible, I’ve done it.
I had it down to about 60% consistency. It’s not easy.
Hit it super early.
i will try it again early this time. it’s just hard for me to learn the character because of people trying to win so badly. i will get a friend at the same time i play so i can test some stuff out.
Does yang build a lot of meter from whiffed palm and counter palm on fireballs am thinking whether a super a round is possible
9 palms = 1 ex bar. he builds meter way too quick so yeah it is possible to have a super a round.
When Is AE for console supposed to be released?
6 months after release so about june 2011
Played more today, I’m coming to the conclusion that Yang will be significantly lower tier than Yun. Yang’s problem is seriously his damage. He definitely has the tools to win, but you have to work really hard and hit a lot of mixups.
Yang has no issue with damage output, he has ALWAYS been a character focused around his mixups.
He is not a truck like Rufus, more like a wasp that is VERY, VERY good at annoying people. Compare this to Yun, who does a little more damage in each combo, but has weaker mixups, worse ultras, less range on his Focus Attack, and less safer options on the ground. Yun must be airborne more than Yang to make up for this, thusly he suffers much, much more from the threat of DPs and anti-airs.
So, where does Yun have the REAL advantage over Yang, again? I’m not seeing it.
I got some practice in at MGL and SVGL the past few days. Here are my Yang findings so far:
-It looks like EX Command Grab MIGHT have hit invulnerability. I was playing against Lamerboi’s Dee Jay the other night and I was able to EX command grab him as he tried to cr. short kick me out. Not sure about throw invulnerability yet. needs more testing.
-Not sure if it was counter hit, but I was able to link close standing medium punch, far standing medium TC for a full 4 hits.
-st lk x2 mantis slashes combo works
-You don’t have to do the EX Command Grab to do the mk launcher, sjc whiff divekick, U1 combo.
-mk launcher, hp palm juggle works anywhere and does insane damage. if you do it in the corner, you can finish the combo with EX upkicks for insane damage. not sure if regular upkicks, U1, U2, etc. work yet after hp palm.
So yeah, those are my findings so far in case anyone hasn’t posted them yet. I will be playing all week and I’m still trying to record this stuff I’m finding. Yang is looking more beastly by the day in my eyes.
He deals more damage.
Not an outright advantage. Not something that can solidify Yun as an overall superior character choice to Yang. That extra damage (and it’s not really a lot, tbh) is just SLIGHTLY, ever so SLIGHTLY more reward for your MUCH higher risks.
The sacrifices Yun makes to differ himself from Yang are not sufficient enough to make his matchups with the rest of the cast better than Yang. It’s not possible, IMO, considering Yang’s superior fundamental tools.
I’m not going to take the time to lay out everything that both characters have. In a few months though you’ll see.
I mean already, look at the Japan arcade results, multiple Yuns in the top 20, only one Yang.
Also in that interview with all of those top players recently they say that Yun is much better.
Yang U2 absolutely have no I-Frames.
I’m not particularly interested in interviews, only what the characters themselves can actually do. People listening to broadcasted opinions is how characters who are perfectly competitive get left to the wayside. I personally can’t see how Yang is inferior overall. I find his offense much harder to deal with compared to Yun. Yun may have some things that he doesn’t, but the overall package you get is more solid and reliable with Yang. Time will only tell; but unless we get some really sick shit going with Genei Jin, I only see Yun rising up above Yang in tournaments due to popularity, not because of his design. In any case, both characters are still extremely competent - I still think they’re both either equal, or Yang > Yun.
It does against projectiles. Stop spamming wake-up ultra.
What im saying i don’t think it would be a useful AA, might get stuffed.
You can get full ultra animation as anti-air sometimes, but the timing is strict. It’s been OK as an anti-air for me; it’s the rolling part that you can get hit easily out of.
How much have you managed to use Yang?
I must have played him for at least forty games if not more, and I’m telling you there’s no way to deal lots of damage with him. He gets about 200 damage or less off of each mixup is my guess. Slashes damage are quite weak, so you really have to depend on landing super or ultra, the latter which gets scaled pretty hard. His FADC combos also really get hurt by scaling too.
It never did. It was really a anti fireball Ultra to begin with (and really just used for the EX slashes in 3S). Seeing how versatile U1 is this time around, I don’t see why you would use U2 as a AA when he has good normals and a decent DP for a AA.
