Juri in SSFIV - arcade version

FSE is too borderline OP to be buffed IMO. Just one wrong buff and it turns into a broken ultra.
Any buff Juri gets aside from a U2 buff is a buff to FSE, so turning Juri into a solid character will turn FSE into a solid ultra.

True. Very true. I’m curious about any buff to her fuhajin. Honestly. I stand by it. It’s her best special.

Except FSE changes the properties of moves. If they really wanted to they could have moves better when FSE is off and old-fashioned when FSE is activated.

-You now combo Fireball charge > Pinwheel, for example
-Less stun and damage on charge kick

No changes to U1, but because of the changes to the charge kick, it's easier to score knockdowns

Hmmn I wonder what the juggle properties of her fireball kick and her fireballs is like. Something like this would look pretty cool.

That’s not going to be possible. I expect you can either release the Fuhajin, do L/EX Senpusha, or if you have FSE active, reset with standing normals.

well, can’t really be choosy. i definitely appreciate the FASTER walk speed buff ( whiff punishing will be easier ) but i was hoping EX pin would get better. but w/e i guess it might not be all of her changes. and besides, new leg raise juggle can possibly open up some good combos.

I don’t think people actually understand how good it’ll be to do Fuhajin xx Senpu > release > Continue pressure.
It’s Guile-ish, to say the least. I like that buff a lot. It will finnaly make her a decent pixie.
She had low health for no reason whatsoever. She had shitty pressure. With two changes like Faster Walking Speed, better combos, and followups… Her Stamina will be justified.

I agree in Super Juri was a low health character with no pressure. Now it seems she can put some pressure.

i definitely see the possibilities with these changes. i’m not complaining at all. anything that was added, rather it was small or big buff, allows her to be better than the way she currently is. and that is never a bad thing.

btw, i hope the focus attack hitbox improvement is accurate. if it is, that means we may actually be able to hit crouching attacks. i.e: guys run slide. and plus it’ll make punishing ELF slide during his wake up mix up much better.

My japanese is iffy, but i tried reading the original post.

The saving attack bit says something like “EX SA’s extension time was reviewed, and it was made easier to use when Juri is up close”. Could they have increased her frame advantage out of FA?

The last line in the misc chapter also talks something about Unguardable combos, but I can’t make heads or tails what its referring to, except that something was changed.

What do you guys think of the combo possibilities with the new Fuhajin?

I guess it would make sense to do combos into fuhajin store as hit confirms, then tack on EX Pin if it hit. That way you also always get a fuhajin store from a combo, so you can continue pressure by throwing the fireball, or go for a fuhajin combo. Previously you lost your momentum if you stored, since they had time to get up. Now you have an easy, safe method of creating fireballs.

I would guess that you could also combo from fuhajin store into super, and ultra2 in the corner maybe.

Hard to estimate how this will pan out for FSE though. Both buffs (walk speed & fuhajin) will improve FSE, but how much is the question. I guess it would at the very least make fireball FSE combos even more useful.

Definitely looking forward to playing with the changes.
