Julia Chang Combo Thread

Dash canceling is simply canceling a normal into julia’s qcb+p move, holding the p (which starts to charge it) and then while still holding p inputting a dash. The combo in the link you provided cancels the forward dash out of her qcb+ p move into party crasher(forward forward mp or forward dash mp).

So in total the command would be whatever normal -> qcb+p(hold p) -> forward dash-> mp during the dash.

I find negative edging PC after a CADC very useful.

hcf+HP -> f+HP -> f+MP~MK > WR > crHP > HK shoryu > TAG (poison) > jump HP > crMK > HK shoryu.
500 damage for 1 super… Thats a good risk/reward

WR? I’m still not tight on her shortcuts…
Anyway i feel like hcf+HP is primly for raw tag punish, people hardly hold forward when Julia chargin in

WR = Wind Roll.

And hcf+HP is a overhead so it’s a good set up for knockdown opponents (if you think they’re not going to roll forward)

use it on meaty (after tiger strike for example). It’s effective, especially if you mix with LP version -> low attack. Because dont forget that you can EX CADC PC your boost combo.

  • WR = wind roll
  • CADC = charge dash cancel
  • PC = party crasher

my boost combo? :frowning:

You didn’t do the tutorial, huh?
The magic series: l~m~h

i.e., l~m~h xx cadc > pc …

Those names…
I actually haven’t checked combos with it yet, was practicing like crazy (with no results) on the s.lk 4.mp link. probably a waste of time relaying on those 1 frame links.

it’s 2 frames link.
stLK has +6F, and crMP has 5 startup frames.
BTW, if you have trouble, just do: stLK -> crLP -> etc

That kind of answers one question I had: “What are some good low starting combos” Granted, it’s a chain and I suppose that works but the combo into PC makes it work decently

4mp is not cr.mp it’s b.mp
cr.mp is not like, zero range?

oups, i misread. I thought you were saying 2MP.

Actually, I think you still should be able to combo st.:lk:, cr.:lp:, b.:mp: fine. It works with cr.:lp:, cr.:lp:, b.:mp: fine so I don’t see why the first combo shouldn’t work unless st.:lk: really pushes them too far.

Any reason to use st.lk for hitconfirms over cr.lp?

st.lk
5f startup +6f on hit +2f on block

cr.lp
4f startup +7f on hit +3f on block

Only difference I could see mattering is if the pushback on cr.lp is too great to make some st.lk combos work.

When you look at it like this…
Anyway I was young and eager, needed the confirm and didn’t have frame data
Other then this, s.lk got some nice range so you can footises with it quite nicely, but when you show frames, there is really no reason to use it on pressure string (aka after jump in) over c.lp

Does Julia have any low hit confirm combos? The advantage on her cr.:lk: doesn’t look like it’s enough to even combo into anything besides special. Is the extent of low starter combos just a low hit into a special?

Yeah, I wish we had hitbox data so we could see move ranges. Raw data points to cr.lp but if st.lk has much more range it might be more consistent overall. Gotta do some testing.

You can do cr.lk xx cr.mk as a hit confirm. It feels safe on block (couldn’t punish with ken fp.dp). Downside is it only leads to a chain combo or ex special.

And that’s a downside that bugs me. I guess they want to make Julia more threatening only if she has meter. I just wish her cr.:lk: had like 1 or 2 more frames so could combo into cr.:lp:
