I hope it is just a maintenence issue since the message sounds more like a region issue to me. I also heard that there might be a disk release I can buy in Japan too perhaps.
edit: I looked in some stores today and saw the adds for a disk release of AE on june 30th. Guess that is how long I’ll have to wait. Wonder if it comes with extra.
I’m looking for some help using an IC card I just purchased.
I’ve never used one of these cards before and I can barely read any Japanese. It’s actually an SFIV card, but it seems to work when I insert it into the SSFIVAE machine reader.
I thought after I select a character to assign to the card, I would have options to choose a name, title, icon, etc; however, I can’t seem to get any option screen to appear when I insert my card and start mashing. lol
Do I set that information up online or on a special machine? I’m lost. I don’t want to play forever with no title nor icon and a name that says ‘NO NAME’.

You are thinking of the 50 Monte. Walk between Hep5 and Men’s Hankyu. When you get to the KFC, go left and cross the street. You’ll see it in the shotengai there. It’s pretty dead during the afternoon though. You might catch a few salarymen during lunch time, but don’t expect much.
It’s good on a Saturday night and everything is 50 yen / 3 rounds. Check the machines before though, because they aren’t always in the best of shape.

This is bullshit man. All the people I meet in Japan are on XBL, good and known players, and I have a fucking PS3 that I just UNJAILBROKE like a dick head to play AE, and I can’t play it now. This makes me want to stop playing all games, gonna fucking sell my PS3… Oh wait, 3SO is coming soon… Never mind!
im getting my ae fix at the arcades, though when i got the console version i might reduce my arcades outing to save some money. but yeah, i can never quit.
Yeah dog, there’s a shit load of good players at my arcade (Tenjin GIGO in Fukuoka,) but I waste a lot of money when I go out there because that’s the city side and I know myself… Alcohol, clubbing, food ETC, they all come along with being around there lol, and I really can’t be wasting doh like that, so I want that shit at home. Guess we gonna have to wait. When it gets back on, hit me up with your PSN, unless you play other games on it, because I know the store is down, and the only games I have for PS3 are SSF4 and Demon’s Souls, and I have the US Version, I hear the US version doesn’t play on JP servers, but I’m done with that game since my HD messed up and fucked up all my precious characters…

I’m heading over to Japan soon (Aomori-ken) because of the JET Program, but I’ll be stopping by Tokyo for a few days of orientation.
The thing is, I want to buy a new arcade stick because bring over my old one (Original MadCatz TE) would be too much baggage to carry over. I want to get preferably a 360 stick because I’ll be playing on the PC version of AE for practice or during my downtime if I’m not in the Game Centers.
My question, is there anyone within the Tokyo area know where I can buy a stick (Akihabara, Shinjuku, etc?) I’ve been checking out Amazon.jp and it seems that HORI brand are mostly there in Japan. Personally, I don’t know what parts HORI have (Sanwa?) or ever played on them, but if anyone can suggest anything, it would be most appreciative.
The stick that I was looking at is the HRAP VX.SA for the 360
I’d rather buy it at the store or any mom’pop store than go through the hassle of ordering it online, shipping it at my place, etc.

As for osaka. Pretty much everywhere has AE.
In Namba theres Avion and Taito station. But I think Avion may have the best competition.
Plus it has more games too.
But there is monte50 in umeda which only costs 50 yen for one credit. Which also has strong competition
