It's All or Nothing! - Chris Redfield Combo Thread

A new Patch just came out today and I am having trouble cancelling air pistol shot as well as sj air pistol into shotgun/magnum/machine gun. Is the cancel window for down H shortened? It feels to me like it’s completely removed.

I’m still able to do it. Nothing feels changed on Chris as far as I can tell.

Alright! I have been searching for a point character to add to my Doom/Sentinel and I think I’m going to go with Chris. I tend to play a zoning game and I think Chris will compliment to my team greatly. Before I can get started however I am going to need some relatively easy BNB’s. Preferably a midscreen, corner, throw and happy birthday-combo. I say easy because I don’t want to invest too much time into learning a handful of combo’s. I’d rather use the time I have to get a feel for the way Chris moves around the screen.

I hope you don’t feel like I’m just trying to steal technology without doing anything for it. I’ve tried searching the forums for combo’s, but it’s all very cluttered and/or old.

Sure, assuming you’ve got Doom Missiles/Sent Drones:

Midscreen:
d. A, d. B, d. C, f+C+Doom, S /\ B, B, C, S /\ j. QCF + C /\ F+C, S /\ B, C, S /\ d. CxxSweep Combo

Corner:
d. A, d. B, d. C, f+C+Doom, S /\ B, B, C, S /\ B Grenade xx Grenade Launcher, b+C (the flamethrower) xx Sweep Combo

Throw:
d. C, C Boulder Punch, j. QCF + C /\ f+C, S /\ B, B, C, S /\ d.C xx Sweep Combo

Regular air series into Team Hyper Combo, nothing too fancy here

Typically Chris’s combos end up putting the opponent in the corner, so the d.C xx Sweep combo hits. However, if you end up out of the corner, the d.CxxSweep combo isn’t as reliable.

You sir, are a gentlemen. Thank you for getting me started. Soon enough I’ll be able to come up with my own and pinpoint what’s difficult/easy, what builds meter and what does damage.

I have tried doing the midscreen combo for ten minutes. But I cannot connect the 2nd air series. After the Doom missiles hit, the opponent is launched too high into the air so I can’t follow up. I have tried delaying the missiles, but then the missiles actually hit too late and push the opponent down after I launch them.

And about the throw combo. If you can manage to dash twice after the first C Boulder Punch, you can OTG with cr.C into another C Boulder Punch and then j.QCF+C etc. That way you will actually build a meter, making the combo self sufficient. I can’t pull it off a 100% of the time though, so I might stick to the easier throw combo for now.

Lastly, if you want to make d.CxxSweep connect midscreen more reliably. Just do a single dash forward before you OTG.

That’s actually a mistype on my part. Just stick to the assistless version for now, don’t call Doom.

Can anyone provide me with Chris’ main Ultimate BnB?

Well the bnb I do with chris with no assist is cr.M>s.H>f.H>boulder punch H>dash>cr.H>boulder punch H>air Magnum>f.H>S>j.M>j.M>j.H>j.S>cr.H>Sweep Combo
*It can be done anywhere on screen.
*If started in the corner, you can eliminate the dash after the first boulder punch

Sorry that I didn’t post up the damage it does, I completely forgot how much the combos do but I can assure you it, the first combo does about 650k and the second does about 700k if not a little more. What is great about these combos are that you build a bar and you can dhc into plenty of characters that can make the combos do 930k if not a million damage. For example, dhc into Dorm/Task/Spencer/Storm and plenty more I hope this helps you out

I wanted to post that Sentinel combo up a while ago but I never got a PVR… but anyway, you can do cr.M>s.H>f.H>H Boulder Punch>cr.H xx H Boulder Punch>cr.H xx Magnum>S into an air series and then perform the jump back Magnum while calling Drones as shown. With the dash up Flamethrower into Sweep Combo after the Grenade Launcher, you break the one million mark damage wise. It can also be done after a throw with the same combo except instead of launching for the air series after the Magnum, just OTG with the jump back Magnum while calling Drones since the first Magnum does a hard knockdown. This is only for the corner though. Basic stuff, but I figured it should be shared for all the Chris players who use Drones out there.

I really do wish I had something to record with to get some tech out there though.

I’m having trouble getting the grenade xx projectile super to connect. every time i do it they recover before the m grenade goes off. Is there a trick or requirement?

I believe you have to sjc the m grenade. I could be wrong since I don’t use that combo. By sjc, you throw the grenade faster in the middle of a combo I believe

if you’re talking about the video above, you have more time than you think because they’re getting carried by drones. the timing is not 100% foolproof but I usually wait until the 3rd or 4th drone has hit before doing grenade launcher. this gives them enough air time for the grenade to detonate, keep them elevated for the super and to follow up with dash -> flamethrower xx sweep combo after.

something to bear in note about that first combo in the video as well–I only tested on tron, but because of the way magic slightly pushes you out due to her huge hitbox, you don’t need to jump back magnum, you can just nj magnum. bear in mind this means that after grenade launcher super, you’ll need to time your flamethrower just a bit later due to lack of needing to dash. i guess this works on chars like sentinel and hulk as well, but i haven’t tested.

I was just talking in general. No matter how I seem to do it I can’t get it. Just was wondering what the characteristics were for it.

It’s just a matter of timing, and it changes depending on assist. Which are you using?

My chris team is up in the air right now. I used to use him as anchor with hulk and arthur or deadpool. This was in vanilla, guess I need to go and hit up the team building thread. I thought there was a way to combo with it without an assist. Like after a magnum, I feel dumb now lol

It’s doable, but it is extremely hard. If you’re comboing with him solo, you’d be better off going for sweep combo, preferably after a flamethrower.

Usually I like to time it so when I throw the M grenade, I wait until he says “suck on” and cancel into the super right before he says “this.” Works every time.

Thanks for the help guys. My team used to be Hulk, Deadpool, Chris. Had to drop Chris as he is not a good anchor for this team and with the b assist change the combos didn’t work as well.
