Umm. Yes it is.

i highly recommend every combo tack on the flamethrower before the sweep combo super. the meter gain is just too valuable to miss out on. most combos that have a flamethrower in it either pays for itself or end with plus on meter. and nearly any combo can end with a jumping otg groundbounce magnum into flamethrower into sweep combo super regardless of how long it is.

there was some dude at next level last night on the team sp00ky stream doing some sick shit with Chris, not sure of his name but once the twitch tv archives comes back I’ll try and find it and link. he had these corner combos that were just insane 1 touch kills, also I noticed Chris G was usin Chris last night as well although he almost never was usin grenades. been seeing more people using him online as well…just glad to see he’s becoming more popular. Anyway I’ll find the vids as soon as twitch is fixed

Yeah, I saw that guy running casuals, too. I’m particularly interested in ‘otg gun canceled into grenade, wallbounce assist, flamethrower, drop onto grenade, flamethrower’ because holy shit meter. I tried to make it work with rising fang, but I can’t just yet. He was doing it with ghost rider and I couldn’t even replicate that. It must be a tricky-ish link.

And goddammit, if we were all as good at air throwing as chrisg, Redfield would be a goddamn beast.

I’ve found that Chris can do a pretty nasty reset with Vergil’s Judgement Cut assist just by doing a bnb air combo, call the assist while falling, use c. H and then you can do a whole new combo!

I found two Grenade Launcher combos the other night.

First one is an improvement to the RR log trap Assist combo. From midscreen do a standard ground combo into a standard Air combo, land and jump back, while jumping back call out the log trap assist and do Air Magnum at the same time. Then immediatly throw out grenade toss M and wait as long as possible to use your Grenade Launcher super. The first shot should connect and the grenade toss M should pick it up for the rest of the combo and you can get more meter by adding Flamethrower at the end.

This second combo is similar but instead of using RR’s Log Trap assist you use Wesker’s Samurai Edge assist. Land an air combo in the corner immediatly call out wesker’s assist, use grenade toss M, and use the Grenade Super. The whole thing should be able to connect and you can continue it with Flamethrower like in the previous combo.

Nice stuff. I used your video as inspiration for a more basic Chris/Spencer combo that deals high enough damage to kill off Thor in one touch. You can check it out below:

The idea was to extend from his bread and butter combos that were printed in the official guide. I also wanted to ensure that this combo can kill anyone at the start of the match in where you’re already given a stock of meter to use.

The Flamethrower now being cancelable into S really aid in building enough meter to finish off characters with extremely high health. I noticed you kept going for wall bounce Magnum, and I felt that that could better be reserved for even more damage using Spencer’s Air Wire Grapple H into another Bionic Maneuvers.

Those are some nice combos! I knew I was on the right track, but I didn’t think to use the air machine gun to OTG into launcher…time to hit up practice mode some more.

Hi I would like to know what’s the best way to combo into Chris’s lvl 3 without assist? I usually land a hit into air MMHS, j Magnum, magnum, lvl3 but online is too inconsistent to pull that combo 100%. I would like to know if there’s a better way to go into lvl 3 more consistently thanks (preferably work in a Happy Birthday situation too).

Is Combination Punch H not an option?

This should work if you just do :l:, :m:, :h:, f+:h: xx :h: Boulder Punch. The second hit of Boulder Punch H doesn’t connect after an air series to otg magnum or otg gun normal.

You can try…

air.M-M-H-S, land, f+M (Standing Low Gun Shot) xx Magnum xx Satellite Laser

However, the f+M won’t hit both characters. The bright side is that if you’re further away after air S because you did a neutral super jump instead of forward super jump, you can still catch your opponent with this variant because you don’t have to be close to connect f+M.

Otherwise, use liver blow’s suggestion, which IMO should be your starter combo anyway.

Ok, so it’s totally possible to end with sat laser after an extended combo if you end with otg magnum and go into H boulder punch, but the first hit whiffs. It only really woks in the corner when you can jump back for the air magnum and then you’ll miss with the first hit, and land the second causing a hard knockdown. The good news is that the timing isn’t all that tight, but if you do the air magnum too early, you can mess up the spacing.

If you’ve picked up an assist, your best bet is to replace the ground chain with a Medium boulder punch combo (the one where it cancels into magnum for the wall bounce then you catch them for another ground magic series). This combo does just under a million.

If you absolutely, positively have to do over a million damage to the point character when you’ve tagged an assist as well (and there’s no xfactor to be had) you can do a magic series into H boulder punch cancelled into grenade launcher. From there you can catch with S and then just do MMHS into air magnum>magnum>satellite laser.

so the combo that i have been doing as of late is fairly easy and good damage! its j.S st.L st.M st.H S a.M a.M a.H a.S back dash air magnum flame thrower into sweep combo and roughly 700k :smiley:

Hey I’m not able to follow up after an air throw consistently. Basically what I want to do is:

Air Throw, D+H > H Boulder Punch…

Thing is, sometimes the gunshot misses completely. Is this a character-specific thing? Spacing thing?

The bullet will whiff if you do a back air throw on a cornered foe unless it’s a larger character like sentinel or nemesis. I’ve had it whiff on smaller characters on midscreen air throws but this doesnt happen often and I’m not sure how it happens.

I’m getting problems with doing flame-thrower into his DP super, how do u all getting it consistently? I’m doing it raw holding forward then do the DP inputs as fast as i can.

When you input b.H, you’ll get the flamethrower until it runs out or you let go of H regardless of what you’re doing with the stick. So just catch with the flamethrower with H, input your DP and hit L+M. Don’t even let go of H.
