It is critical that you pay attention! The Nova combo thread

I just settled on Nova/Iron Man/Sent as my main team and I’m trying to get as much damage out of a bnb with my relatively low execution. Currently I’m doing around 650k (Mashed) with a solo Nova combo with one bar. The bnb I’ve been using is c.L, c.M, c.H, S, j.MMH, Fly, LMH, j.S, forward H OTG, S, j.MMH, Super Nova Hyper. I’m hoping you guys could help me come up with a good, reliable, all around BnB. Thanks in advance.

take out the light attack after fly and at the end after the relaunch just do j.H into L or M pulse before hyper.

Simply doing: cr.M, st. H, S, j.M, j.H, Fly, j. M, j.H, S, f+H, S, j.H, Grav Pulse (L or M), into Super Nova does more damage than you have there.

With a simple Drones extension, just press Drones+f+H, st.H, Centurion Rush M, Centurion Rush H, j.H, Super Nova to get even more damage.

I been working on Nova Iron Man lately too…Sent gives Nova SO MUCH MORE DAMAGE. As for “relatively low execution”…learn the fly unfly loop and everything will be low execution after that.

Watch these videos to get an idea of what you can do with Nova Sent. The first is a Nova Spencer Sentinel video but everything before calling Spencer is good. The second is just a Nova video I made with a lot of characters so just look out for anything I do using Drones for extension to get ideas.


is there an optimal combo for Nova in xf1 off a speed tackle hit confirm?

Starting with XF1 or canceling from speed tackle using XF1?

Oh, actually, I’ve been wondering. Speed Tackle, not XF cancelled, into a combo, sometimes it doesn’t work. I’m probly messing something up, but I’m like at 40% with the confirms. Why is that?

Ok, I tried using the jump loops but i can’t seem to link s.S consistently so I opted out for the basic combo.

speed tackle, xfc, wait, L,M,H,S, jump, M,M,H, fly, M,H,S, Nova Slam, call ammy, M,HxxCent Rush M, Cent Rush H, Super

It’s 0.5 meter negative though so i’m sort of annoyed. Before the super, should deal about 900k

It’s harder on different characters. I’m not sure I’ve ever been able to get it on Spider-Man or Zero. It’s also important to make sure you get s.L and not s.M, so just don’t rush it.

Speaking of which, I’ve only been able to combo off of straight forward, straight down. I think someone said there’s a way to combo off of a diagonal crossup? I’ve never seen it.

Yup yup, fwd then dwn is the only way I have been able to get it too. I have like a 90% success rate comboing off speed tackle.

Moons has done it before on incoming. Though, he had Ammy assist running whilst he set this up

It was super jump, speed tackle, forward, down. This crosses up on incoming

After that, he j.M, j.H, fly, j.M, j.H, j.S, shenanigans

Yeah I’ve seen him do something like that with Task arrows, didn’t think about using Cold Star. To the lab…

I can do that, if the hitstun isn’t super-high (j.H into supernova pops them out), also does less damage than my extension. May work better if I want to keep them low for the Dormammu DHC. Thanks.

Its a lot easier to stabilise the up version if you do the first rep after the rejump as MH fly LH Rocket punch and then resume normality after that, you should also pause after the first H x fly since you have forever to link the L and it will drop the body further.

Did you? O.o…to be honest, I was scheming it in the lab when I was messing around and did the wall bounce rocket punch xx blaster…I saw they fell onto the blaster and from this video:


I knew falling onto the blaster = ability to link so I kept practicing it till it worked
