The infinite is hard to set up and takes off way too much x-factor time. The faster you can kill a character the better.

anyone know any optimal nova dhc to captain america?
now my bnb for dhc: MHS, MMH, fly, MHS, (otg) Light Centurion Rush, Gravimetric Blaster -> Captain America super but the damage suck so bad.
any better idea?

My team is Captain, Nova, Taskmaster

Contrary to the “grown-ass man damage” meme, Nova’s BNBs don’t actually hit that hard. If you want to get better damage, you can do the un-fly loop which adds about 100k to the combo you posted, or start using assists.

With Charging Star and Aim Master alpha, you can OTG with Nova Slam (f.H), then either:

  1. call Cap and do s.H xx Centurion Rush M, Centurion Rush L xx Gravimetric Blaster
    or
  2. call Tasky and do c.H xx Centurion Rush M, Centurion Rush L xx Gravimetric Blaster

Those both do around 920k with a DHC, and with a full DHC to Taskmaster will do about 1.1mil. Obviously it’ll do even more if you have red life to spend.

that’s not entirely true; Nova -can- hit hard, he just needs a confirm that doesn’t screw over his scaling. His normals/specials do respectable damage but at 5 and 10% scaling if he hit confirms with a multi hit or something that doesn’t let him do fly loops he’ll tank quickly.

alright so I decided that I want to get more mileage out of my team (Nova/Task/Doom missles) and I was trying to see how creative I could get with missles extensions. I probably should have just asked you guys before hand but whatever.

The most damaging extension I could get was after the S knockdown, call doom, then f+H ground slam, S, jump cancelled energy javelin into C.Rush M into C. Rush H.

with that extension even with the most basic Nova combo I’m squeezing out like…912k via Taskmaster DHC

when I do the optimal Nova combos I get well over a million.

Nova’s practical BNB;s should do ~800K. His scaling sucks, but while not being Doctor Doom he still outdamages most of the cast.

As someone said above, do the H loops in the corner…to get maximum damage without having to use red health, do w/e combo you wanna do that ends in a ground bounce (whether you find a way to use assists to extend or just get a hard knock down and do Nova Slamf+h) and do L Nova Strike (“ROCKET PUNCH!”) and cancel to Super Nova…this is tech I stole from Marvelo. The tech behind this is L Nova Strike xx Super Nova keeps the body at the BOTTOM HALF of the Super Nova instead of popping them up in the air like L C.Rush does. Because of this, you get to DHC to horizontal supers/supers that need to connect low to the ground .

Just got a capture card. Expect a Nova tech type video coming out within a few days. With another possibly about Nova/Strider.

Cool cool, so I’m curious, what combo should I be learning then? My team is nova/plasma beam/drones, at the moment I just do a basic magic series into launch basic flight combo land otg into ball hyper. To dhc into sphere flame, I’m prolly gonna need a corner carry combo, so what do y’all recommend? At first I was practicing the h unfly h combo but after our brief discussion I’m guessing its not going to be my main combo so I need something else, but I’m not entirely sure what direction I should be looking. Especially since there are so many options.

is the nova infinite hard ? do you have to double tap or plink ? does it have 1frame links ? or is it just a regular combo ?

For the corner against a regular sized char, you can add a Cent Rush M in between the Nova Slam (f.H) and S so it’d be…
f.H, call Doom, Cent Rush M, S, jc’d Javelin, Cent Rush M, Cent Rush H.

I’m not sure why you aren’t breaking 1mill with that extension, when I do it the combo does about 830k without DHC into Taskmaster. DHC into Taskmaster does about 1mill. Are you doing H Loops?
Edit: I need to learn to read the entire post =/. That Doom extension is probably the most you can get.

You’re going to have a difficult time breaking 800k with Nova unless you’re doing H Loops, his moves have so much damage scaling. H-Loops aren’t difficult anywhere either, the biggest thing is to get as close as you can after the launcher without actually touching them (if you touch them, you’ll push them too far to hit them with the third jH).

Learn fly unfly ! But Nova w/Drones is one of the ways Nova can get two supers without a DHC so dont worry about DHCing to Doom. Plus Nova can link two supers by himself. I plan on making a few Nova bnb videos in the future =)

Ok, I guess ill just learn the fly unfly, even if it isn’t always practical, it’ll be good to know. Plus I saw one that uses a fly unfly and a rocket punch to take them to the corner so if say I don’t have sentinel available for w/e reason I still have a combo that would set-up a DHC to sphere flame.

To be honest, the H loops really isn’t that impractical…ever lol…it’s not like this hail mary do or die combo that drops all the time unless you have MarlinPie fingers

Yeah I mentioned that doing the basic nova combo gives me mediocre damage. Of course if I do the unfly loops I’m going to break a mil easy haha the Taskmaster DHC is just absurd.

that corner combo extension was actually really helpful, I can finally do that extension at any position on the screen now (with some modifications depending).

I’m planning a Nova/Dorm team, my plan for damage, other than how ridiculous the TAC damage gets, is to DHC from air supernova to stalking flare, launch them down, otg and centurion rush, two dark matters, a dark hole, and chaotic flame, for a semi-Nova-Spencer deal. Damage in the followups, all that.

So, question is, since I need to keep assist slot 1 open for the Dorm followup, what can I do to push damage beyond ground series, j.H fly j.H unfly j.H…?

I still have bolts assist available when I don’t use it in neutral. Any good ways to pump up damage using that assist as an extension? I think I can fH call bolts, st.H DP+M DP+H into Super, but I can’t lab it to make sure right now.

I’ve seen someone do something like cent rush L + call bolts, j.H, j.S, f+H, S, j.H, Super Nova. Try it out.
