You guys are doing it wrong. Nova hit confirm >> 1 air series + Nova force >> DHC survival techniques >> Frank follow up combo will do more damage than tacking on BLS or survival techniques at the end of a combo. The only drawback is you need a higher initial start of meter for the payoff.

How do you tk the javelins?

My team is Cap(Shield Slash), Nova(Centerin Rush), Task(Horizontal Shot)

I really like this team for but I’ve run into a slight dilemma. I don’t have a way to extend Nova’s combos using shield slash. At least not any where I’ve looked. I know I can extend his combos with Charging Star assist but I much prefer to keep Shield Slash because of the options it gives Task and Nova. Is there any way to extend his combos with shield slash?

Truthfully, change to charging star…it will benefit you too much. combo extension ANDD it eats projectiles so it should help u get in. Imagine Taskmaster do a charging star while calling the assist on a zoning team?!

Also I’m starting to like the Pulse assists. You can do some cool stuff with it.

Eh…it’s sorta kinda not worth it especially since it uses red health so if u tryna have Nova heal, no assist. M C.Rush allows unblockables especially with Cap’s cartwheel u can set up true unblockables.

If after a jS in an air combo for the flying screen knockdown, my fwd+H sometimes whiffs (they start to get up), any idea if that’s a problem with my timing, or something with the previous combo? Like hitcount too high, or something with height or relative height to opposing char, etc?

Doesn’t happen a lot, but when it does, I’m left goin wtf?

It happens to me too. My theory is that air S has to hit 3 to 4 times for the fwd+H to hit. If it once or twice you have to otg with light C.rush. Hope that help

Try to make it so Nova is a little lower than the opponent. The lower, the better (but of course don’t be so low that j.S just whiffs altogether).

If it’s what I think you’re talking about, what happens is sometimes you recover from the j.S faster than you realize so you time the f.H as if it was hit normally.

You have to make sure the S hits more than 2 times. Also if you do Forward H and you see Nova walk a bit, it will whiff. The timing is pretty strict on it. Practice makes perfect though.

You can also mash out the f.H if you want to. Like the others have said, if the j.S only hits once or twice, the f.H isn’t going to work and you’ll have to Cent Rush L instead.

EDIT: The hitting once or twice thing is only true for launcher combos. The main thing is that you hit the ground at more or less the same time as they do. Then you can mash f.H

Can anyone explain exactly how to do nova instant overhead.

down, up, down, L. lmaooo

Like dougiee said. Down, Up, Down + L is the fastest way to do it, but it has a few problems. I usually do it like that in the corner and by plinking dashing midscreen like down + m+h ~ L. That way if you dash with it, you can do cross up instant overheads, which are so fucking cheap. But kinda hard to set up.

Haha Marvelo I love getting those crossup instant overheads. It’s probably the cheapest thing Nova can do imo.
