I actually solved this problem last night. Instead of going :h: :s: for the re launch I just go into :s: then :h::s: call Wesker
centurion rush then :h:centurion rush then super jump :h: into super nova which gets me 732k and builds 1.3 meter and uses 1. The :h:centurion rush makes the timing for super nova at the end tight. You can sub in an :s: instead of the :h:centurion rush but the combo does 2k less damage but builds more meter and makes the timing for super nova at the end less strict.
Found a way to get 2 air finishers using Hidden Missiles.

How it works is that when you call the hidden missiles and launch them up the 2nd time and do your basic mmh, the missiles will be hitting your opponent giving you optimal time to land the 2nd air finisher.
Only thing thing you need to do land this perfectly is to mash the hidden missile assist and :f::h: once you land from your first air finisher, then mash :s: so your opponent won’t fall out and combo away.
Builds around 1.3 meter and does around 700k? I forgot exactly but I think its around there… my bad ladies and gentlemen.

Haven’t fully perfected this yet since my Fly/Unfly combo still is not perfect, but It worked. Yaaay, Nova does Nova damage. Forgot the meter gain and damage when doing this combo.
Hey guys, just wondering. Is there a way to combo into Nova’s crumple without the use of spencer assist?
Doesn’t have to be a super damaging combo or whatever, just want to know if it’s possible

Thanks, haven’t played UMVC3 since launch but began to pick it up again I use this combo and the fly/unfly combo (scrubby version that does 750) as my bnb’s.
So what is everyone using now that the game has advanced a bit?

I actually picked up Nova today and was playing around with this concept once I picked him up. The fly/unfly combo nets about 790k. I found that the opponent would fall out of centurion rush L if I tried to cancel into his other super, which I find to be more DHC friendly.
Alright guys I’ve been fiddling around with nova and noticed something nobody uses gravimetric pulse in his combos. I’m trying to incorporate it in his game. I have a feeling he can net 850k with Wesker assist but I just haven’t cracked the shell on the combo yet. I’m using the red life version since it causes wall bounce, HELP ME OUT NOVA FORCE!!

Haaaa I literally just found this same thing last night.
Take the :l: out of the air combo you’re doing and just do (launch) :h: (fly)
:h::s: instead.
It’ll get you a bit more damage on the combo.
Now I just need to do it with the fly/unfly :h: as well, which I’m having a ton of trouble landing midscreen. Any suggestions?
Cool, so this hit stun theory… Is it best to hit as many :h: in your combo and try to avoid hitting and :l:?
My tip for the Fly/ Unfly combo was just to wait a split second after the launcher, and if you find yourself too far from the opponent after you hit all the :h:, when I land I just went straight into launcher rather than getting that st.:h:.
I don’t know what inputs you’re trying to do, but if you’re having trouble landing it mid-screen, try doing:
j.H, s.MHS, sj.H, fly, j.H, unfly, j.H, land, s.S
…to start it. The s.M in the beginning pushes you a little bit forward which helps close the gap a bit, and make sure you super jump forward and hit that first j.H as soon as you touch the opponent.
It’s fun how I’m just new to the Nova section and then I find Vaxtin making stuff for Nova + Amaterasu.

The bold + size 5’d part baffles me. This looks kinda borked. What the crap happened here? Shouldn’t there be an H between the S and the unfly?
Second:
I’m having problems reliably landing the fly-unfly midscreen. Not because of input errors but for some reason the opponent becomes too far after the fly. This doesn’t always happen, so I know it’s possible, but I just can’t find where the wrong part is. As a player who doesn’t use assists mid combo, I’d like to master his most reliable solo combo quick, which seems to be this. Anyone know why this is happening?[SIZE=3][/SIZE]
TBH, don’t even bother landing a second Fly/Unfly combo, one is good enough plus it’s not practical, Don’t take my words for it though.
It seems several people are having the same problem landing it midscreen. To close the gap in the air, the solution is to use cr. > cr.:h: > :s:.
The reason is because the standing normals pushes them to far and not allowing you to initiate the Fly/Unfly combo.
Another tip, when you input cr. let Nova slide just a little further before hitting :h: putting Nova in perfect position to do the Fly/unfly combo.

Do you have any tips for fly/unfly combos. I can get :h: fly :h: unfly but usually it reads it as fd s and I get an ariel exchange which I don’t want. Are there any shortcuts or should I just practice like there is no tomorrow?
Practice, and slow it down, you actually have alot of leeway.

super/regular jump, air dash down j.L. It’s not that hard to do, just takes a bit of practice.
