Hopefully 6 months down the road the game will be very nice and balanced just like how AE 2012 is in its current state. I mean, Vanilla SF4 was broken, yes, but it was still fun and challenging. But Vanilla SFxT is a whole different case, so this patch was much necessary.
We can clearly see that Capcom is being more careful with their actions now, and listening to us. Which is good. Hopefully they’ll clean up more of the mess.

People complaining about lack of gems are people who want to be able to just use the NORMAL GEMS. The only gems I personally give a fuck about are meter gems, and I believe that if EVO had just made all meter gems the tournament standard, things would have been much more interesting.
Or or even speed gems. Have you tried empty jump low short with speed gems? It’s on that fucking marvel level. Almost all standard gems (boost gems) other than defense gems have major potential.

This game is fucking trash. If you’re smart, you’ll throw this game into a lake (like I did) and go play a REAL FIGHTING GAME like Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown. The disc locked characters won’t breathe any life into this game like Capcom and the fools who like this game want it to. Drop this shitty excuse for a game and pick up a REAL FIGHTING GAME. Real fighting games don’t have a gem that blocks for you when you fail, a gem that techs throws for you when you fail, and a gem that enables you to not take chip damage from anything. Broken BS x Scrubby BS has these three things. Extravagant is right; those that usually defend gems most likely use assist gems and get butt hurt when you call them out on it.

Gems that do things for you are bad and you are bad for using them. Here, let me decide for you what a “real fighting game” is and what isn’t. Yeah, expect everyone to get right on that.
By the way, your pal may be right in that it’s more likely for users of those auto gems to be defending them. But it doesn’t really matter. See, no one he replied to was condoning the use of these gems in the first place. I like how the term real fighting game is being thrown around so casually. I played vf…for a long fucking time and played alot of other fighters. Ya vf5 is a honest fighter that is underated…but using it as your reason to shit on another is just…uhhg really? Why not shit on DOA while your at it? I honestly hate when people try to justify why Game A is better then Game B…its fucking silly.

I never stopped playing the game but it seems the new balance patch coming out on the 31st will help breathe new life into this game. My biggest concern for the game was the jab pressure from characters such as Raven and Rolento… along with a few other tweaks, the balance patch has addressed most of the bs people have been complaining about [from my understanding].
The only thing left to address are the time out issues… a match takes way too long. Either increase the damage across the board and/or reduce/remove recoverable health altogether. Or adjust how damage scaling works… idk, just my two cents.
