Is this game moving forward, or is it stagnant?

Meh Idk maybe im giving mainstream too much of a high standard. But when I think mainstream I mean THE GAME. Marvel 3 and Sf4 are pretty mainstream in the west. Tekken is mainstream in Japan, Korea and in the East in general, while KOF 13 is mainstream Spain Brazil etc.

Idk I dont see 3s being mainstream now. Maybe it was at one point, but I dont see it as mainstream now. But whatever, this was not the point of my statements anyways soo Idc

That’s a fair assessment. People need to learn to think for themselves.

I think what K3lloggz probably means is, the modern gamer isn’t going to name drop 3S like they would AE,UMVC3,BB or KOF13.

You’re all so quick to forget.

When Marvel 2 came out everyone said it was scrubby not having 6 buttons, and iceman was broken. Then people figured it out.

When CvS2 came out, nobody liked it, there was debate about what speed to play it on, and that it took too long to play. Then people learned to love it.

When 3s came out, nobody liked it, it was essentially dead on arrival and was not at EVO for some years. People played it after the Japanese came to EVO.

When SFIV came out, nobody liked it, it was too scrubby, but people played it because it was popular.

When Marvel 3 came out nobo- you get the picture.

SFxT is exactly the same.

Mind = Blown

But. those games didn’t have game breaking glitches that would literally make the game stop. Im not saying they can’t salvage Sf x T, Capcom is just gonna have to really think this time and try to bring the consumers (us) something worthwhile.

Besides…random glitches from patches always happen.

It’s cool it’s just I usually see people rate what’s mainstream by what a small set of people in are playing in tournaments.

The auto-launchers are really killing it for me gameplay-wise.

touche

The game is not really fully explored. I agree with Calico, this game will have its popularity sometimes in the future.

I think SFxT is going forward, but not in a high speed at the moment. And it wont be dead for me as long as i can find people playing it online and/or my buds keeps playing it. I hope the DLC chars would be released soon, because that will bring new fresh feel to the game, even its still pretty fresh to me.

as soon as the dlc characters come out for this game I bet its popularity will skyrocket.

the game sucks. end of story.

It’s moving forward. The people who like the game and are playing it are developing the game atm, i mean look at the desk vids. That’s why i’m very invested in the game because soo many possibilities are still being discovered. Once all the characters are unlocked i think people will be more invested in the game. Capcom screwed up with the dlc and that’s why most people dislike the game. The game is very honest actually. When you get a hit you earned the hit. When you’re being pressured and have a bar you can just alpha counter, which just deal with it fighter 4 doesn’t have. There is a lot of thinking in the game and two smart players actually make the game exciting. I was honored to play Dieminion a few months back and he told me that the game is fun when you’re fighting against someone who knows what they’re doing and i agree with this; this goes with any game you play. TBH i’m just playing what i like and i enjoy it. To each their own.

I still enjoy playing SFxTK. It’s not perfect, but it’s still so new. Once the DLC with the new characters is released, I’m sure this game will get a lot more attention.

i feel the mainstream fgc is really hindering the game atm. Sure the game had it’s bad pr issues and the “majority” dislikes the game. The people who enjoy the game are silent by the screams and shouts of the people who despise this game and people are scared to say “I like sfxt” and try to avoid being shunned and laughed at. i mean if we gave sfxt a chance maybe it can be something special, i mean look at kof top 8 at evo; it was so hype. This whole fiasco with this game has actually made me dislike ae so much more. I can’t bare to watch it anymore because people are white knighting that game which many thought was boring and sucked. I mean sf4 has had three versions of the game and dlc paid costumes and one might argue well there was on disk dlc in sfxt. NIGGA YOU WERE PROBABLY ONE OF THE MANY WHO SAID URRRRR GOOD IDEA THEY’RE PUTTING STUFF ALL ON A DISK HURRR DON’T LIKE BUYING A DISK. LOLOLOL SUPER XTEKKEN HERP HERP A DERP. Its ironic that people were alright with it and now they’re against the game; this is where all the hate for the game derives. I will say though that capcom did fuck up but still they listened to their fans, feedback; does this make any sense? So is it really their bad call for listening to their fans? Plus people also forget sony had a hand in this as well. Plus capcom has been doing their best to make the game tourney viable and player friendly. It’s all really simple when you look at all the angles and not just hate something with ignorance. I’m just glad they’re getting this straighten out so people can enjoy the game, but i’m sure someone somewhere will whine…we always do, don’t we?

I agree. Right now there’s no point in investing anytime into the game when new characters will be arriving in three months. Some of whom can completely change the dynamics of the entire game.

On an aside, I think DLC characters should be banned from tourneys in the first two months to allow people who didn’t hack a chance to catch up with those who did hack.

I doubt it. Many people get to play early builds of fighters and the general public doesn’t. This situation falls in the same category. Good players will still win even if they play against someone who has prior use of dlc characters.

This would be a huge setback on top of sfxt’s current list of f**k ups. There is no reason for doing this.

Same here. It’s probably the “new” factor that really has me so enamored with it, everything else aside. I’m enjoying my lab time with the game as much as my actual matches.

Did you mean three weeks? (7/31) Or am I misreading something?

Honest question, btw.
