Although denying the existence of tiers is pretty ignorant, don’t listen to them or request them. I can understand if a person wants to know strats about different characters, but does a tier list do that? No, not really. All it does really is increase conformity and encourage scrubs to pick top-tier characters to feel better. Often times it will just create an incentive for people who have given up with a low tier, due to losses. Find a character that you like, and devote yourself to them. With the proper determination and training, you will be able to overcome those players who just pick top-tiers after constantly losing with lower characters.
Oh yeah, TJ’s Ryu is far from perfect. He whores and whiffs a ton of c. HK, and it’s just sad to see that other players don’t pick up on this. I’m a Ryu player myself, and I can see that he doesn’t use Ryu’s EX specials to benefit in the right situations. (EX Donkey juggles… EX DP priority… etc.) Finally, even if you are skilled at parrying, which TJ is (Very much so), not being able to capitalize on these parries makes them useless. You defeat the purpose of the parry practically when you can’t use it to your advantage. Yeah… too many shoto sweeps…

What happens when someone uses You Hou and someone just blocks it? A waste of a supermove.
One does not simply BLOCK Genei Jin. If you think it’s that easy, try playing some real Yun players and see how easy “blocking” GJ is when you have to guess between cr.LK, command throw, overhead, and various fakeouts thereof, all at about twice the speed Yun normally moves at.
Plus, Genei Jin charges about 194721919 times faster than You Hou. Compare the number of times you can get GJ in a round to the number of times you’ll get You Hou in a match.
Genei Jin can be done anytime, anywhere, for any reason, and will always be a threat. You Hou is useless outside of combos and maybe the occasional wakeup.
Tier arguments are dumb. How many of them has SRK gone through now?

Yea, just to backup Bellreisa, GJ is the most dangerous SA for Yun because of the fact that it’s dangerous whenever/wherever activated. I think topic creator forgot Yun has command grab, so if you’re turtling at the start of GJ, it’s almost as if you didn’t block at all, if he grabs you that early. Don’t forget that even after GJ is gone, you can juggle maybe 2-4 more hits. I think enders don’t suffer from damage reduction(??? have no idea, but the damage from enders aren’t bad considering the GJ hits before it)
I know that my Ryu isn’t perfect, LowTier tends to give me more props than necessary but what the hell. Also Leebee Link I have improved my game by like 5x since those videos were posted on CV so expect to see more vids of me, they will most likely be tournies. I don’t think I want to put up casuals of myself anymore lol.

Yes, somebody please record TJ’s matches this time. Missing him play at ComiCon was bad enough, and I know that the matches from ECCX will be even better, especially with so much great competition. Somebody had better break out the video camera. :tup:
i remember watching those videos of SFmaniac. His ryu was pretty good except for 1 thing that i notice was that he tends to try to parry a bit too much when it wasn’t necessary, but still none the less a ryu that stands out above most others. but yea his ryu looks like it can compete with frankies ryu.

I like using low tiers, especially in MVC2 where tiers matter.
I like beating MSP and CSI teams (and all that high-tier crap) using Ruby Heart, Anakaris and all those low/mid tiers I use. Heh, it kinda rubs it in their faces that their high tier teams are crap compared to my playing style and my what-the-f***-is-that-possible combos. lol
