Why does one BS comeback mechanic elicits cheers and praise, while another angry shouts and a river of tears?[\QUOTE]
Probably because they’re completely different mechanics which share so little with eachother that they’re useless as a comparison… That’s like arguing apple pie and shit pie are equally the same because they’re both pies, while totally disregarding that one is made of apples and the other is made of shit.
ahahaha oh wow
anyway, while i doubt this will game change for as long as mvc2 did, how accurate were ANYONE’s first year impressions of mvc2?
I mean, really… “You don’t know shit, but I already know this game is terrible, just like people could judge MvC2 in the first month.” You’re just hilarious. This game definitely has room to be fucked up, but you’re still hilarious.
Also, you should realize that a game doesn’t even have to be exceptional/good to have an “impact”.
…“Batman”? What the fuck are you talking about now?
But no, I really don’t. The fact that it’s marvel style in terms of how over the top mixup and zoning and whatnot is means that I will probably never intend to main it. I don’t even own the game, i have it rented.
They are both comeback mechanics.
Comeback Mechanics Are Bad, right?
So why all the cheers for Daigo?
I really like this game. Why? Because friends I played MvC2 with can actually hang with me in this game. In MvC2, they’d get mauled. Hardcore. In Marvel 3, they can actually beast on me. I can dispense with all the long hours in training mode, and get straight to the good part. The matches.
I got owned by Wesker/Sentinel/assist several games straight. I loled. XFACTOR and the ease of execution make for some pretty intense matches. You could lose it all in seconds if you get hit.
Sentinel is annoying, but part of the fun for me is finding an effective counter to his shenanigans. Weskers gun/teleport and even his launcher are very strong. I now have some ways to deal with his vortex.
I’m having a ton of fun playing this, and it’s due in part to the very mechanics everyone hates.
the game is very fun, it’s so easy not to make a mistake that if you do make a mistake your like “haha ok that’s my fault” it’s been a week and I still love this game
I’d say 50/50.
Even if the game is terrible, a person will always lose if they are terrible enough. In a way, it’s impossible for a game to be absolute broken unless it forces the other person to win even if they chose not to.
Why are you quoting me like that? You took 2 difference sentences and combined them. Completely taking everything I say out of content. WTF!?
Good to know you are talking out your ass.
No offense to Marky X but this is a poignant way to exemplify ProjectJustices’s mindset and why it just doesn’t make much sense right now.
How can you be so sure how the mechanics will play out in the long run? You cant. You just don’t have the experience yet and with that mind set, you just may never get it.
I truly hope Capcom has the fortitude to ignore most of the nonsense being spewed on this site.
Hi there black!
Oh you don’t remember me? Its your old friend kettle!
Dont see how the kettle can be involved in this when Im putting hours of gameplay a day trying to get better at the game when he doesnt even own it. Oh thats right, you’re reaching.
This times 100, I’ve been saying this for a min. I think I’ll take a screen shot and save it mvc3 time capsule.
I remember day 1 mvc2 being a lot of fun with guile in the team
lol he’s complaining about everyone having sentinel on their team.
umm mvc2?
Because he’s daigo, people would cheer just for him eating a sandwich let alone making a comeback. I see what you’re geting at but they are entirely different mechanics which are built to entirely different standards, so whether people would cheer for a daigo ultra comeback or not has no relevance to the state of XF. What people are arguing is that seeing someone pop XF and make a comeback by sticking out random pokes and winning with a simple abc combo isn’t half as exciting as seeing someone overcoming the odds entirely by exploiting the fine intricacies of the system (justin vs xecutioner is a good example of that).
i bet all of you would be pretty exited if two player were down to their last character phoenix vs. sentinel and phoenix had already used x factor and has no meter but sentinel just activates it but still gets totally dominated.
if thats not overcoming odds i must be taking crazy pills
Cuz Marn plays that game.
phoenix owns sent for free…unless he kills her when she comes in before she can hit the ground (always a possibility, especially online)
yeah you’re right marn doesn’t play that game but justin does and he was complaining about everyone using sent
edit: but still most of the people i know that play mvc2 or know about it and it’s high level play and tiers don’t complain
the only thing im complaining about is no megaman yes i am one of them
That’s most certainly overcoming the odds albeit a different kind of odds…
Can normals/specials trade at all in this game?
I’m asking cause I genuinely don’t know, and can’t find any info on it.
it seems that basically whoever gets their normal out first will hit the other opponent (I know there are counter-hits obviously). I’m not sure how i feel about that. I think if my hitbox + hurtbox are both intersecting with my opponent’s hitbox/hurtbox, it should cause a trade that kinda resets the situation, like in SF.
I swear I haven’t seen this happen yet. Whenever I’m in close quarters with an opponent, and we’re both hitting buttons, only 1 of us will get the hit (usually into a massive combo).
well, XF is never going to be something it isn’t. XF is like professional wrestling. its meant to add a contrived rather than a spontaneous level of tension, momentum changes and improbable comebacks to matches.
