It’s not true. My old PC lasted me over 10 years. If you get the right parts right now today, you can outperform a PS4 and Xbox One while having the bells and whistles of a custom PC. It’ll guranteed last you the entire next-gen and more.
Some CoD games have dedicated servers on PC, but CoD is a low-tier FPS game series. There’s a lot more fun MP FPS games out there, and the level of play is higher on PC. There’s no scrub-ass aim-assist bullshit in PC FPS games either, so if you rely on that, you might be fucked off the bat.
And QL is severely lacking in players. Not only that but the only game modes that I truly enjoy are FFA and Freeze tag. Clan Arena is full of BS moments and Duel is too stressful.
I just want a nice gaming rig to have the ultimate singleplayer experience at this point.
I bet most of these people (like the 3 or 4 above) only know what they read and hear from friends. Like the misconception that you gotta spend thousands of dollars to build a nice gaming rig. You don’t. Those kind of gaming PC’s are usually made my PC Enthusiasts, who enjoy building “Ultra Rigs”. In Reality you can get a nice PC from 600 dollars and up. Mine only cost about 750 bucks. Everyone also thinks that you will have to upgrade your PC (graphics card) every couple years. Just not true, unless you put the lowest of the low in there to start off with. My PC is almost 4 years old and there is no signs of it needing to be upgraded/replaced. Well, I guess I could use more RAM but that isn’t necessary. Not to mention you save money on games over time as they’re always on sale on PC for mad cheap.
Plus its a freakin’ pc. You can do way more than just play games on it.
Also amazing graphic cards that were top of the line the year before get discounted heavily pretty often.
Though you’ll always find those PC scrubs that spends like $4k on a prebuilt that barely scratches what a simple $600-$900 computer with parts that someone knowledgeable helped picked for you
Shit is simple as going on a PC building forum then posting, “I got a $500-$600 budget, what are good parts to buy”, then get someone that knows how to build a PC and let them do it for you/hire them if you have to, then you’re all god damned set.
Thats what im talkin about. I see dopes all the time talking about how their computer is old so they’re gonna buy a new one. Its always “im gonna get this sweet computer here” and they show me an ad for a 600 dollar office max piece of junk. Or they say they’re gonna buy a super dope alienware computer because they want to get into pc gaming.
Thats when I tell them to just build it themselves. Spend a little more than you would on that coscto computer and build a nice gaming pc. Or, instead of buying that alienware crap, save hundreds and build it yourself. First thing is always “I dont know how”. Man, 3 days of research and I learned how to put a computer together from the ground up. If I can do it anyone can. Then comes the “there are so many parts I dunno what to buy”. Again, do a little research. It really goes a long way.
If you can put together a couple pieces of Lego, you can build a PC.
All parts fit into specific parts on the motherboard. If you can’t do that, it’s worth finding someone who can/paying the few bucks to get someone to do it for you.
For keyboards you can pretty much just go with whatever; IE i’ve been fine with this $15 kensington ergonomic keyboard for 5+ years and never gives me problems. Shit loads of competitive players can get by just fine with a cheap keyboard as long as it works.
If you feel like investing into a “gaming keyboard” then $50-$60 would be my limit imo, anything higher and you might as well invest in a mechanical keyboard.
For mice there’s a fair amount of budget gaming mice for $30-$40 that does the job well on top of having some extra buttons to keybind stuff. RIP Logitech’s MX518.
I have a 12 year old keyboard, a 10 year old PC case, a 10 year old PSU, and an 8 year old mouse.
I’ll never stop using them unless they die on me. KB and Mice can be found for > $5 each. I never cared for multi-button mice, your keyboard has more than enough keys.
Diablo 3 has about the same number of sales as Super Mario Galaxy and SSBB. Diablo 2, I can’t even find the sales numbers, but it isn’t listed as a bestselling PC game as far as I can see.
Honestly, top sales numbers for contemporary console and PC games are pretty similar, but consoles have way more depth in the number of titles that sell well. Recent numbers suggest a definite trend towards PC gaming in the west, but you need to remember that many of our games are made in Japan, where console still very much dominates. Console gaming won’t be obsoleted as long as the Japanese market exists.
Eventually though, all games will be on PC. Companies will produce portable “consoles” which will basically be laptops without keyboards or monitors, with A/V output that you can just hook up to your TV. That’s pretty much what the current gen consoles are in a nutshell, the only difference is the proprietary OS and lack of compatibility.
I didnt realize how easy it is to illegally download PC games. I think once more people start investing in higher in PCs or when the industry standard gets a little better in the next few years the console industry is really going to take a dip.
Its literally as easy as installing a program. You can even play these games online with steam users, I was blown away.
You can’t play pirated games online, that’s bullshit.
Unless they’re really, really old like Heroes of Might and Magic 3, or have their online environment simulated by some third party software which is impossible for new games like Starcraft 2, Diablo 3 and most EA games for instance.
From what I heard getting a laptop for gaming is laughable, not to mention you can’t even upgrade them, and if you can… it’s just annoying to do… right?
Can you help me find the best Desktop you can? I will buy you a game off Steam if you do… Here’s the catch though I only have 230$… Oh and I need a keyboard, monitor and mouse… I know it sounds crazy but I was on ebay and I really like HP computers and found some complete brand new full package computers for 200-230$ but I’m not sure about the specs…
ARE ALL desktops upgradeable? HP’s?
I just got my bday money… lol… I was planning on using my xmas money to upgrade it … ill buy a Ps4 like late 2014… All I care about is a PC that can run SF4AE or like 2010 at least graphic games… Something tells me I should get a desktop instead of a Laptop.
Is this good for 230? Shipping included… condition refurbished in box
