Yea I noticed after I posted the link, but I wasn’t sure of how much of a difference it is.
Well anyways, my auntie’s old computer from 2004 won’t turn on. I haven’t open it up yet, but I think the power supply crapped out. When I go open it up to make sure the problem is the Power supply, I’m gonna buy a new power supply along with the radeon hd 5450 for $10 if the motherboard supports it. Might use it for light gaming and have it run emulators for kids to play with when they come over to my auntie’s house so they don’t get bored. I rather fix the computer instead of thrashing it or collecting dust.
When it is all said and done I think I want my rig to be similar to this. Man I think this is the first black friday/cyber monday I have ever been excited for.
So got a question on emulation. As long as you have the BIOS(?) for an emulator, you can run the actual disc on your PC, to play/upload a game for the console, correct?
I got OutRun 2 on the Xbox, but since it’s not BC with the 360, it’s a no go (don’t own an Xbox anymore). I can still use the disc on a PC, assuming I have the right emulator, no?
If more fighting games came to pc like marvel 3, Tekken tag 2, marvel 2, and future fighting games I honestly would not even buy consoles. For old school arcade and consoles I have emulators while not perfect still good enough to enjoy.
I stopped playing new fighting games several years ago, so that is no longer a genre I care about. But when I do play old ones it’s always emulated on PC, usually on GGPO or on 2DF which had a bigger selection. Kaillera was okay before it died, sure there was more delay but if you were playing old arcade games that didn’t even matter since they weren’t really as competitive, if at all.
So what was left for me was JRPGs. Guess what, they don’t really make those for consoles anymore. We get very few over here, and most that even get translated are rather unimpressive.
So there’s really nothing for me. My sister gave me a PS3 for my birthday and I just never really used it, so I eventually just gave it back to her. She doesn’t really ever play it either and doesn’t really care about it. It’s a pain nowadays to even switch from cable TV to the console input, especially since most of these games are boring.
With PC games I get a wider variety, better graphics and modding capability. There are so many PC games it’s ridiculous. For consoles you’ll pretty much never get a small indy game, but for PC there are a ton of niche games you can enjoy. It’s just a matter of finding your community, and then either the games are free or they charge a few bucks. You don’t even need a gaming PC for the vast majority of these games, I bet most of them can run on tablets even if that’s your thing.
Since your PC does so much other stuff too, you’ll probably have it on anyway. And with multiple screen capability, you can have a lot of other things going on at the same time.
So if you’re looking for that customizability and those advantages, PC is a no brainer. It helps to have a bit of extra cash, but really it’s much cheaper than people think. Enthusiasts shell out more cash just for fun. You don’t really need it for most games except maybe the very high end FPS games. Most mainstream games are designed to be played on lots of different PCs, just if you have better PCs it means better graphics. If you just want to run on the console settings that’s pretty easy to do.
All i have is Demo’s and no money right now O_O Can someone give me a Steam code or any code for a good game? ..
An FPS, RPG, Action game would be cool. Add me on Steam and i promise i’ll return the favor on steam gifts, we can even run some matches… ^-
Team Fortress 2 is free, that Blacklight FPS game is free and so is the new America’s Army game(it’s supposed to be really good, but it might still be in beta.)
Quake III(Quakelive.com) is still better than all those games, though.
Whenever I get a humble bundle I usually give away some of the codes to games I’m not interested in in the PC thread/lounge thread. I’ll keep this place in mind too.
My old PC case was filled with LED lights and LED fans. It looked pretty snazzy when it was on. I still have the case around if anything happens to this current one I’m using.
My current case is basic. It’s called a “Soprano” and can be locked with a key. Doesn’t look special on the inside outside of the mobo and GPU have matching colors. No LEDs, watercooling or anything to make it look cool. Very basic, just a couple extra fans in there(one is huge.)
Nice, those are some of my favorite EA games from this entire generation.
