I really like to know were he gets these facts, of were more people are trying to hack macs now adays. Since 90% of the market is PCs.
It seems like people in this thread are nothing but mindless sheep, just agreeing to anything other pc user says

Why does it matter? It seem logical seeing as Macs are still selling and have been for years. Of course more hackers are going to start fucking with them as the years go by. Why does that upset you?
Where do you get your facts from? I didnt know 90% of the market is PCs. I figured it would be lower than that with all these new devices and such.
If you buy a computer that costs more and does less just because it has an Apple logo on it, doesn’t that make you the sheep?
Can someone answer this? Why do people (Fools, I call them) buy portable stuff (laptop instead of a desktop, portable game systems, tablets)…but never leave the house with it? Wtf? Why even bother? Just buy something that doesn’t go anywhere, since you never take it anywhere to begin with, and call it a day?
$500 is a entry-level gaming system these days. Meets or exceeds console specification. Doesn’t include monitor, but you can always just hook it up to your TV. There’s no excuses anymore. Hardware is so cheap. If you’re worried about malware/Windows sucks, just buy a program called DeepFreeze that takes your computer software back to it’s original configuration. No excuses.
the Latin crowd i do repairs for all have laptops they never leave the house with. one of them is so bad they have a special desk for the laptop, but get this, they have a wireless router** literally 4 inches away from it.** i had to ask about that one.
“so… do you move the laptop?”
“no no, it will stay on desk”
"…and you have a wireless router right next to it"
“yes. need wireless.”
"…may i ask why do you have a laptop then? if you don’t move it?"
"… HAHAHAHA! I DUNNNOOOO! "
we both had a laugh about that. my poor client just didn’t think about it. my running theory is if it’s not an active reason (cramped living quarters, awesome sale, travel with it, fits with their “minimalist” style, etc) it may be the subconscious thought of “i need this as little in my life as possible.” it could be slightly fear based (“the larger the computer is, the worse i’ll mess it up. let’s keep it small as possible to minimize the damage”), but there is definitely irrationality in the purchasing of/interaction with things of this nature. just look at AlanEdrick’s posts.
also, i’m pretty sure my client lives in a trap house. i’m gangster.
Heh, well I do leave the house with my laptop, but it’s also useful around the house. It’s nice to be able to take your computer and lay down in bed, or watch streams while you’re cooking, or what have you.
lol its funny seeing people in a PC thread talking about how useful it is compared to consoles by highlighting things that you can do without a PC
you see i cant wait for the rift, it’ll popularize inventive thinking even in more young people so PC’s will be utilized to their full potential.
i like gaming on both but consoles tend to be better because you know you’re all are looking at the same thing, no random online cheating and wider choice of game types (though that might change this gen)
IMO I think you should have multiple PCs. At the very least a main desktop with all the trimmings, a laptop/tablet/phone for mobility purposes, and a desktop/laptop for naughty games that’s sparingly connected to the internet.
Just because something is portable doesnt mean you gotta carry it with you everywhere. Mine is great for when im outside smoking or if the kids or wife are using the PC. This hanheld also has sweet games. I like games.
P.S. When I leave my house its because im goinv to go do something. No time for gaming then. I dont use any kind of public transportation either.
So You guys seem to know alot of stuff, i am going to build myself a pc that can play my games in the future but right now the only game I wantto play is KOFXIII. It doesnt seem to need much as a matter of fact the only thing my current pc needs is a graphic card with dedicated ram of 256mb since my current integrated one only has 128mb of dedicated ram. Could you guys recommend a card that is cheap and does not need a new power supply. It does not need to be the best because I will be building my own over time but just something cheap I can throw into my comp and play some kof now.
EDIT: it would need to be something similar to the nvidia geforce 9500 GT
You mentioned not wanting to buy a new power supply, but what do you have now?
You’re probably looking for something like the Radeon HD 7770 or 7850. They’re extremely power efficient.
sorry, it is 300 watts I believe.
300 is a bit low to support most modern cards
9500 GT is 350 minimum, and even then, just being at minimum requirement can still be risky
its funny talking about 300 watts when the wii u consumes 32 for games not even that far behind graphically
I could always up it to 400 I just wanted something cheap to hold me over for now. If I was going to spend over 100 for a gpu I would most likely get this amd cpu/gpu i saw someone post last night that could work with a 300 watt power supply for 130
You’ve paid more than $700 for your console. They’re usually around $400 or so base, then you have to buy extra controllers, maybe battery packs, hard drive, etc. So let’s conservatively put the total cost with accessories at $500. Now what are you going to play it on?
Yeah that’s right, you need something to play it on. You’re going to spend a couple hundred more on an HDTV. But you can watch TV off of that you argue but now you’re paying even more money. With a PC even if you want to argue you’re paying more, you’re getting these other uses and people always count the monitor price as well. Take the monitor out of the equation and the price usually drops even more. Take the accessories out of the equation and again you can argue you’re paying less.
But I’ll be real here. Your ass is fucking poor. I was really poor once too, and I made the same poor people arguments you did. I was too dumb to look at costs and actually break down entertainment value. When I started making real money I got smarter with dealing with money too. Poor people expend so much effort being poor that they’re too stupid to figure out how to not make dumb money decisions (here is a link: http://www.infowars.com/poverty-consumes-so-much-mental-energy-its-like-a-drop-in-iq/). A 13 point IQ drop for being poor. That’s what it takes to argue for consoles.
Poor people are also more likely not to have PCs, instead relying on smartphones (because these poor people stupidly think they are cheaper): http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/25/smartphones-digital-divide_n_1546899.html (there was another article on the Wall St. Journal on this a ways back, but I’m not going to find it for you, plus I don’t think peons like you should read that).
Seriously people, stop being so fucking poor. Stop trying to brag about being poor. Your dumb poor ass is constantly wasting money but doesn’t even understand how. You’re out buying spinning rims, overpaying for cheap alcohol, buying consoles, leasing cars, all sorts of stupid poor people shit. Stop wasting time on “social media” and paying money for “facebook games.” You are not being “clever” by buying inferior products at a markup and “saving money” by using poor people accounting.
Im poor. I have a dope PC and it didn’t cost much. Being poor I have to spend my money wisely. I figured most people thought like that and would always look for the best deals and really check into stuff before spending what little money they have on it.
You must have a really high IQ then, to overcome the poor person IQ tax.
1 I already had a TV
I bought the Hori V3 but i guess i will count that
I Paid 250 for my ps3
i pay 15-40$ for all of my games, the maybe 2 or 3 i buy for the entire year, if i buy any games at all
I also said buying consoles at launch was dumb. I just can’t see myself dropping 800 dollars on something i will barely play unless a new FG or RPG is on it that i want, even then i’d still just play it at someone elses house and wait for a price-drop. 400 is still a little to much. I’d pay about 300$ for a new console at most.
It preference I guess, but your calling me stupid when going with a console is a truly inexpensive way to play games. Your entertainment is as cheap as you make it, if your that guy that buys like 60-70 games a year than yea PCs save money. But I am not that guy. I still have an snes, n64, and dreamcast with my cousin’s games that i still enjoy. I don’t need 500million horsepower to run games that in all honesty don’t interest me.
And who the hell pays for facebook anything?
