So basically you can’t afford it.
Fair enough, unfortunately SNKP isnt the company from the 90s we grew up with with anymore. SNK went brankrupted if you remember and was picked up by Playmore. They are a much smaller company these days with much less resources than Capcom or Namco for example. With that being said, its taken SNK/Ignition 3 years to produce and release KOF12. While the game features are lacking the most important feature is not, the fighting engine. All their R&D on this title went into the fighting engine and you can see it has paid off. KOF12 plays better than any KOF behind it.
SNK had to release this game now to make up for the cost of this product and its due to this that the game is lacking single player features and the netcode has taken a hit. Personally I dont give a shit about single player features. All I need is Vs, training, and online. We are gaming in a different era then in the past. Games today are hardwired into the internet. Release the game now, patch later is the attitude that publishers have these days.
The best thing we can do is let SNK know we arent happy with the netcode and due to sales they will continue to work on it and make it better. I believe that SNK isnt done patching the netcode. We all have to admit SNK has been doing a great job post release on patching and letting fans know they arent done with the stable of what SNK is. SNK themselves are answering to their fans on its Facebook account, including myself. Acting like an asshole, saying this sucks, they suck, fuck you SNK isnt going to get you want you want. Work with them, show support and it will pay off. So far it is, im having good connections online with 2-3 people rooms and having a lot of fun.
If KOF12 had a shitty ass fighting engine, it could of had the greatest netcode in the fucking universe and I wouldnt of wasted my time playing it or in this sub-forum. This is coming from a huge Capcom/Street Fighter player since the 90s.
A very sensible post Project Justice.
Oooooooh, how galactically retarded of me. How didn’t I see this before!? Instead of SNKP bungling things up in typical SNKP fashion and giving me two great games with equally great netcode with which to play others (in keeping with the competitive spirit of the genre to which they belong), I should whisk myself over to eBay and plunk down hundreds of dollars for a console that essentially emptied an entire magazine of high-caliber rounds into its own foot before it even left the production line so that I can learn the intricacies of Choi’s AI patterns and marvel at the wonders of SNK Boss Syndrome all by my lonesome.
You’re a fucking genius. Anyone ever told you that? :clapdos:
Well said.
Indeed.
I thought the claims of extreme lag were exagerrated, but they aren’t. Everything you’ve heard is true and possibly worse. This is not even a game and is less than playable. This has to be fixed or this game won’t last longer than a week.
Two bar connections in Street Fighter 4 are heavenly wonders compared to anything in this. Soul Calibur 4 Siegfried and Kilik mash fests are more satisfying. This is horrific.
What’s got your sphincter so tight? Was it the Chinese-company thing? Get over it and get off your high and mighty fucking horse. Even if I bought a Neo cab none of the money would go to them anyway. It would go to the poor bastard who originally got stuck with it. “Sod” off, “mate”.
Project Justice, pretty much nailed it, good post.
My horse is rather comfortable.
Just a note, it’s Ignition that’s responding to fans, not SNKP.
unfortunately unless you’re gunna pay SNK’s Bills you need to suck it up and accept the fact that SNK is doing what’s smartest for them businesswise by trying to bring new blood into their fanbase, not everyone out there in middle america are hardcore.
Or would you rather KOF die out altogether?
right bumper is your friend
Actually, if this is what all of their products are going to come out like then yes Id like them to die out.
They arent contributing anything to the fighting community if noones able to play the games, and future releases will have even lower sales due to the shrinking install base from fans losing intrest.
If they arent going to step up their game then its their own fault, a functional online mode was all they needed to have and they couldnt come through on it, not to mention that all the delays brought forth no benefits.
This game is awesome. People who hate on it are allergic to fun.
^its the online which is everyone’s main concern here Tiagol.IT IS HORRID ATM but has gotten better in my case due to the patch(I wont go on about lack of content).
I cant find any green or blue matches…the fuck?
Except in order to BE fun it needs to work, sadly it does not, so theres no “Fun” to be had.
Its working for me. Online, 2-3 player rooms are working. Also i just finish playing a 3 vs 3 player team battle with no lag. Conditions are that no one in the room can have a Red connection. If anyone does, it ruins the game for everyone. The patch did help cause prior to it 3 vs 3 players was unplayable regardless of connection.
I had a blast, we were all in a party talking trash and rooting for our teams, Blue vs Red.
Straight from Ignition as of 10 minutes ago: (Actually, 2 hours ago, as I got distracted waiting for the repost timer to count down following a previous message).
"Dear KOF XII Fans,
The support and excitement generated by the fans so far for THE KING OF FIGHTERS XII is amazing and incredibly appreciated. We are so happy to finally have it available. Even after the game was finished, additional steps were taken to help improve the player experience and an update was released for both the Xbox 360 and PS3.
However, Ignition Entertainment is not at all happy with the online performance or with some of the functional issues that the fans have raised even after the release of these updates. We want to ensure the community that we are not taking this lightly and are having meetings in person with members of SNK PLAYMORE even at this very moment. Please continue your constructive feedback because we are listening and will do everything we can to have SNK PLAYMORE address these issues as soon as possible.
The King of Fighters series has always had some of the very best and supportive fans and we want to do what we can to help ensure they are treated right. We will continue to keep you updated on progress with SNK PLAYMORE and we thank you again for the continued support."
Yeah I dont doubt it, when it works for me Im having a blast too…but the bad matches pop-up for me alot more often than the good ones do.
Then again SF4 can be just as bad, I’ve had matches against people with full green bars lag more than anything I’ve encountered on BB or KoFXII, so far it remains that post-patch BB has the best online of anything else out there.
Hopefully Tekken can get their shit straight prior to release as well or there will end up only being two games out there that people will play.
I’m interested, but I’ll wait for the online to get fixed, and more than likely a price cut.
amen there
I will shit a brick if tekken’s net code sucks
I really love this kof playing people in town, if they fix the code on 360 I will cream myself, anyone outside a 100 mile radius is just not worth playing with the lag
