Nice video I may think of using the replusor blast assist now since my team is Firebrand/Iron Man/Sentinel. I never really liked using drone for the unblockable but replusor looks so much easier. I also saw some of the mix-ups joker uses the repulsor for and I think thats better then using unibeam for hitconfirms(talking about sentinel).
I often use Repulsar on a few of my teams, but If I were to point out one big weakness…
It’s slow as shit. What this means is that, actually locking someone down with it long enough to mix them up is actually pretty hard outside of specific setups. Where-as with unibeam, it’s easy (though a little bit of that easiness is Viper being stupid broken).
I know unibeam is better for mixups but on my team i rarely use it because drone are much better for firebrand. And sentinel has a mix-up on incoming characters where he flys over and back and its way better then my current mix-up with sentinel(dash behind and s lol).
Yeah I feel repulsor blast is one of those assists where your team is gdlk if you build it around another strong assist like drones or a beam. Basically you can use your standard assist for the neutral and when you get in you can lock people in dumb situational shit with repulsor. Repulsor is what I would consider a top tier secondary assist as long as you have a strong neutral assist that you use regularly.
It’s just if you want more utility overall you gotta go with beam. It’s lockdown (on hit or block), neutral and full screen coverage all in the same assist basically. Just have to remember to call him before you move forward so he can protect you and he doesn’t smacked off the screen.
Well, my point was, umm… here’s an analogy.
To get somebody trapped under an assist you need to keep their character occupied until the assist traps them. This is easiest with big high priority attacks, like C’s (for many characters). The problem with unibeam, is that, by the time you recovered from your C, the unibeam is pretty much over. With repulsar, you will still have time for the mixup. Viper however can feint out her H TK in like 5 frames and not really deal with that pesky idea of recovery (or Seismo xx FADC).
Good stuff, Ve. I’m going to assume the end was a typo and you didn’t optimize these combos from some remote location in a Bat-cave.
Or with your television remote.
agreed… tonys beam assist is ridiculously good but it isnt THAT easily applied. you gotta space yourself away from him to protect him, or in front of him to cover him. standing where he spawns is just asking him to get stuffed or HB’d
in completely OT news… these iphone games are straight crack… who would a thunk it…
on the LATE train i know, weird since ive had iphones for years now.

I was referring to the Viper and RR combo’s actually. Video wasn’t about their combo’s, I just wanted to avoid all the comments telling me how to combo better.
The Iron Man stuff I usually just did the KK combo to show that you can pretty much always confirm into it, but my throw combo’s were not the correct ones.
Nvm. I just can’t read.
Not sure which thread this should go in, but I guess I’ll ask it here. Does anyone have any suggestions for XF3 Ironman? I feel like all I’m able to do is bcs, bbcs combos and he doesn’t seem to get much of an improvement in mobility for XF3.
Well I have my death combo (that I got off another guy that posted a while back) against grounded opponents in XF3. If I hit someone on the ground with Iron Man they die in like 3 seconds without spending any meter.
His mobility is solid enough in XF3 especially once you learn plink dashing. Ideally you’ll want to only have to fight two people if you’re using XF3 Iron Man so you can kill one character with the XF and whether or not you get enough time you will most likely have the meter if you hit them to combo into level 3 and kill the last guy.
It helps to play a character in the 2nd spot that can give Iron Man a solid assist so that you can switch up between Iron man providing an assist and the 2nd character providing an assist for Iron Man. If they have a safe DHC that helps to get Iron Man in more safely also. Iron Man is shaping up to have some really nice TAC combos also so this will help the Anchor Man synergy with other characters as well. Being able to kill somebody then get Iron Man in 2nd with an assist and hopefully that character is also a decent anchor.
you can rep the KK combo 3 times for 1. Something mill with 1 bar
Holy ship. I was in the lab with this earlier today. Seriously. Listen to him.
Yeah I remember someone bringing up his ground throw range earlier. It’s similar to Sent and Hulk, he can just pick you up. Iron Man wants you towards the corner any way especially since he can actually combo off ground throws in the corner. His c.L has deceptively good range and converts into Krispy Kreme better than I realized.
If you’ve got old man hit confirms, you can still Krispy after like 3 or 4 cr.L’s (in terms of hit stun D).
Cr. L is GDLK yo.
I was mashing cr.L before it was cool hipster IronMan
No but really it’s better than Magneto or Doom’s by far, and it’s better than most Cr.L’s in the cast as well in terms of range, chainability, his hurtboxes, etc.
“Iron man pressure???” ROFL!!!
IM got one the best lows, I would say it is even with fast characters like Strider. But its a shame, IM rarely gets close enough to use it and his mix-ups are sub-par even with a fast low like this.
Drones ftw?
