iPlayWinner Presents: Battle of the Bay - SUPER SFIV 5v5 Tournament - Sept 19th

The problem is the first post is unclear.

Some people (myself and DemonLos apparently included) were assuming that the entry fee was $75 per team and that’s that. What is really happening is that all the money from the quals is being pooled, then the teams have to add an extra 75 per team even after qualifying.

So taking Davis/Sac/Reno, for example, we had 21 entrants = 210 + 75 = we’re putting up 285 dollars to play in this tourney.

I understand that other regions have less people, so if we assume 150 average per region, it’s 150 + 75 = 225 per team.

225 * 7 teams = 1575 TOTAL.

30% of 1575 = $472.5 going to venue?

Then you’re going to charge 10$ for people wanting to watch? This shit is street fighter it isn’t heavy weight boxing.

If it was 75 per team like I expected and then a grand prize of 300 or something then yes, I would love for SoCal to bring their best and play.

If we’re talking 1400 dollars and we’re stacking So Cal vs. us being divided by a region, call me stingy or cheap or whatever you can imagine but I think that’s fucked up.

Oh, I forgot to post on here because I got my answers at Hiro’s yesterday. My bad pterodactyl man/whoever you are. Anyways to avoid throwing people off… I will say I support and respect Ryan,haunts,SIKWIDIT510 for throwing an event and even the people that keep riding jock on the side and telling me random shit in response to questions that aren’t directed at them…I LOVE YA’LL too …kind of… anyways,…my gripe wasn’t about my team , just the fact that I don’t have the ability to PICK my own with the top players in my ENTIRE REGION on it… so, if it’s a tournament for MONEY…then why not say something about that when it’s your taco monies involved? As for the 30% I don’t think that’s over the top, I just wondered where the fuck it went when I thought all these qualifiers were held at houses and in basements an shit… but now that I’ve come to understand it…pretty much the guys have to get paid for their time , effort and gas money involved, and I’m not destroyed by someone getting breaded for putting on a cool event… but yea, seemed like overkill at the time to me.Now, not so much…I GET IT. Hmm… what else…? Oh …the 1300 or 1400 was just a made up /speculated number… but if on average you have like 12-15 qualifiers at every regional…that’s 120 to 150 bucks times a minimum of 6 (iono how many teams there are) …that’s 720 to 900 right there…now take 75 bucks which is the price to enter the event after you qualified for the team and times it by 6 that’s like 450 minimum extra …so fuzzy conservative numbers…but it’s 1170 -1350 right there…plus 10 bucks a head…which I understand…you have limited space…you don’t want any lingerers taking that up…there you have all the stuff I came up with…I don’t need the shit to be at a hotel, I don’t need to have the best team, or have my mom /sister/cousin/blaz blue players come and watch me FOR FREE…but I wanted to get some clarity at an event I’m putting my time and gas money into AS WELL.So, take what you will from that folks…but I got my answers straight from the source…I’m done with the rest.I’m sorry if I offended anyone that mattered to me…not intentional. Just wanted some answers, take what you will from them.Everyone else can kick rocks.See ya’ll Sunday…or Saturday at Drom’s …maybe both…

SIDENOTE:both of these events are by a JACK in the BOX? Taco City Weekend

I’m going around this week with a camera to get as many as possible!! So if you’re on a team and see me comin at you with a handycam, get ready to talk sum shit.

Yeah, I had forgotten about the quals money. Although I don’t think all of that is going to the total pot. In our quals, it was 12$(i think) with 5$ going to Starbase for venue fee. Anyways, I don’t really care was just trying to get clarification. It’s all good.

As for the 10$ spectator fee, it makes sense. Shadowbrooke is fairly small and you want to keep out the riffraft and have enough room for the participants. Understood. See you guys Sunday.

I’m gonna talk shit about larry, saying that everytime i read his posts i dim the lights and eat popcorn. Btw super_yan is miranda = Rom’s girl, not a guy. licks lips lets try licks lips not to get licks lips sexes confused licks lips licks lipslicks lipslicks lips miranda i think i need chap stick LOL

I don’t think The Specialists is good example to state in favor of this situation. I wasn’t at The Specialists so correct me if I’m wrong, but NorCals team for the specialists had no regional boundaries while SoCal’s multiple teams did? We concentrated our team with high end tourney players while SoCal’s talent pool was diluted by regional boundaries and we dominated. Same thing is happening here. SoCal’s team is not competing with the same stipulations as NorCal.

Nima said that you should have faith in your team, and I agree, but I don’t agree with the fact that people have to compete under different conditions for the same prize. If a NorCal team wins great, but if SoCal wins does it prove they are better or will you question their win because they had an advantage? I think what Nima said applies if everyone competes under the same conditions, not when 1 team gets an extreme advantage over the rest and are able to attain the same reward. Then again maybe Gootecks, Mike Ross, Keno, Warren and Combofiend live a few houses from each other and qualify as a region. Who knows?

There’s money in BotB. Each qualifying player is 25-27 bucks deep (10 - 12 Quals, 15 main event) not to mention the 10 - 12 per person who didn’t qualify. If I’m not mistaken, no money changed hands at The Specialists right? Everyone putting their hard earned money towards this deserves to compete for that money on EVEN ground as everyone else. That was the idea going in, and not what ended up happening going out.

What’s done is done and I support the event, but I do fully agree with Larry on all counts and I hope everything’s more clearly stated next year.

norcals team for the specialists was so last minute so i guess there wasnt much of a window of opportunity for alot of people to try out but nonetheless we repped norcal. As larry was talkin about sikwidit510 and ryan explained everything last night. 99% confusion was lifted but hopefully everything will be cleared at the event.

My post was to complain about the people complaining over the $10, not just you; calm down.

Also I forgot to ask: I’ve never been to Shadowbrooke before… is it okay to bring food (like spinach dip)?

i’m sure you can bring that in, we’ve had pizza and jack in the crack often in that place.

im sooooooo looking forward to this

$1 million up for grab dis sunday? awesommmmmmmmmmmmmme

Im lightweight okay now with the 10$ fee cause shadowbrookes is SMALL I mean you already have like teams in there of five people plus spectators. I dont want to not enjoy being there because of some snot nosed kids got dropped off by there mom or cause theres 20+ people who keep asking " whats going on whos that guy Oh hes using ( Insert character ) hes so broken ". And whoever say keep the blazblue kids out… HAHA nice.

We should have a tournament for who can write the longest post…1…2…3…GO! and LARRY.S WINS! congratulations for wasting your time as usual to get your point across.

I know most of you who post in here are a bunch of *******, but last time i checked NORCAL was filled with a bunch of killers who dont care who they play. Whoever gives a fuck about money, or how much we have to pay to get in. Last time i checked everything in life is a rip off. So dont be afraid to ask your mom to front you next weeks allowance so you can come and watch, if you dont like it watch it from the stream at home.

As for SOCAL, who gives a fuck about SOCAL, oh thats right all you whiny bitches out there. As I recalled they got bodied when they came down here 2 weeks ago. Anyways im sure most of you will talk shit on here about me, but never to my face because secretly you guys try hard to be my friend.

PEACE!

you fuckers are blind lol i fuckin hate you ramin, im gonna talk mad shit about how you look like nima and nima looks like ramin, you scrubs, you persian scrubs, i hate you. sooo… lets play soon

My bad man.I do waste a lot of time…it’s like showing up 7 hours late to a qualifier and asking for a warmup session…then not qualifying after another 17-25 2 out of 3 matches.Good luck with that reserve spot though…sounds like a ripoff to me.:badboy:

P.S. last time I tried to talk shit to you,it ended up being your brother. Can’t ya’ll wear nametags or something?Actually, it’s all good, I can just watch the matches and tell by who’s winning…anyways…IT’S ALL GOOD THOUGH MAN! I’ll see you soon right? Call me! :razzy:

<3 NorCal!
