Installing an MC Cthulhu and Imp in an Xbox 360 SF4 SE stick

I gave you a link to a Thread.

Mad Catz Arcade FightStick and Mad Catz Arcade FightStick Tournament Edition are both same thing.
Only difference is the aesthetic; size of Case, shape of Case, color.
Joystick and Button different too, but that not matter.

Here more Threads for you.

Sorry,I didn’t understand what you meant by “It is the same as any mod.”

So, if I follow these guides, I should be able to setup my PS3 SE for Xbox 360? What do I have to do different though?

you can’t make a PS3 SE stick work on 360 with a Cthulhu chip. It only does PC/PS3. Follow this guide

Ok, you said “Won’t work on a Cthulhu board.” Does that mean there is some other type of board I need?

Meh, maybe I should just buy the PS3 SSF4. It’d be interesting though to use it on other games I have for Xbox 360. I’ll keep searching I guess.

There is no other type of board to use.

To get Xbox 360 support in your PlayStation 3 Arcade Stick, you have to add an Xbox 360 Controller.
Which is why I linked you to a Thread of mR_CaESaR installing an Xbox 360 Controller into his TE.
And I also gave you links on what to do with various Xbox 360 Controllers.

Oh, sorry again then. The way he worded it sounded like I needed to use something else

Hey guys,

So I am currently soldering right now. My question is (I am on TE using the RJ45, Imp, and MC Cthulhu mod) on this diagram:

http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/eastx/arcade%20sticks/mccthulhuandimptotestickdiagram.jpg

it says, “To USB cable or Jack”. Although that sounds incredibly self explanatory I have no idea where exactly I am to solder this. Do I solder it where my USB cable used to be on my xbox PCB board? Solder it into the RJ45? Solder it beneath the USB jack on my MC Cthulu (I am using the pre assembled MC)? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It means you solder a USB cable to the Imp.
That is all.

As shown by Bomberman.

But you are doing RJ-45, so it would be different.

I am a little confused because the second link you posted shows points being soldered that the other tutorial chart that I posted doesn’t show to solder. I have soldered everything according to http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/eastx/arcade%20sticks/mccthulhuandimptotestickdiagram.jpg and am completely done minus the “to USB cable or Jack”, but the different tutorials are showing different stuff to solder involving the imp and MC and its getting me a little confused :stuck_out_tongue:

Those are the same.
Data- is same as D Column.
Data+ is same as E Column.

It is easier to solder to the GABDCEFV than it is to the small parts for USB jack.

So the “to USB or Jack” part in that picture is really hard to tell what is being soldered to what in that particular piece. Do I even solder anything from there? Or am I just going to run a USB to RJ45 out the MC Cthulu?

Just follow rtdzign.
You don’t solder anything to there.

So just to be clear. I do not solder anything from the “To usb cable or Jack” part of the diagram? Is this because I have the pre assembled MC Cthulu so all I’ll need to do is plug in the USB cable into the jack build onto my MC Cthulu and then run it to RJ45?

EDIT: Done soldering and wiring and everything worked fine on my computer and on SFIV PC. Now I just need to screw everything into place and seal up the stick  I just soldered and Ethernet cord to the MC Cthulu rather than doing anything with the USB jack on the board.

Alright. Everything is done and I played the stick on my 360 and ps3 for over an hr and everything seemed great. I do have 1 question though, the turbo worked just fine on my 360 (te sticks original system), but when I use it it on my ps3 the turbo doesn’t work. I don’t use it anyways, but I just wanted to make sure its not going to become a larger problem later. Thanks!

Its not a problem, there’s just no turbo available on the Cthulhu.

Excellent! Good to hear! These two small pieces of tech are amazing and ingenious creations! Thank you for the awesome mc cthulhu and imp! Now, time to play some street fighter!

joystick not working. I am using the IMP + cthulhu on the 360 TE and used this diagram
http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/eastx/arcade%20sticks/mccthulhuandimptotestickdiagram.jpg

took the cable off the joystick itself and off the 360 pcb. Put the meter on it, its fine
Put the meter on each point on top of the pc to the according wire soldered below. its fine
Put the meter on the cthulhu to the wires soldered on the 360 pcb. its fine…

i am at a loss. everything else works just fine. switching using the RS and all. not sure what else to do/check?

unsure if i am to post here or the official thread so apologies for the double post. i will delete one once someone replies. thanks

I would just check the connector. One time mine was just a little lose so it wasn’t reading, another time I accidentally put it in backwards so my up directions wouldn’t work. Could be that. Its a small thing to check but its usually the culprit lol.

-facepalm- i hope thats not the case that i put them in backwards…let me check real fast. thnx

EDIT/UPDATE: nope they are in order. from the meter. its fine from every single angle/ idea i through. even if the wire was bad it wouldnt check out, correct? unless somehow the signal is being dropped…

EDIT/UPDATE: resolder with different/ new wire worked…shrugs on how since the meter doesnt lie but maybe the signal or something was leaving…
