Injustice: Gods Among Us; New Game by NetherRealm Studios

>> <<, honestly I would not be opposed to this.

Lack of anything besides punches and kicks that other characters have is a asinine reason? We already have a bunch of martial artists in game with more to come lol. I know I’d just be pissed off if Black Adam, Killer Frost or Plastic Man didn’t get in because we had to have Question .

Sadly it would likely sell almost as many copies.

That’s why I said it! Batman: The [S]Dream[/S] Batman Warriors!

You’ve went from “The Question can’t fight” to “The Question can fight, but is out of his pay grade” to “The Question is all about dat der detecting.” I’d say your inability to be convincing in all three realms makes your arguments asinine.

Batman’s most defining features in the DC universe is his great detective skills and his possessing the highest intellect among humans. We’re not seeing that in his gameplay, only his martial skills and some gadget usage. Same with Dick Grayson/Nightwing. Again, my argument was that it is up to the devs to make the character interesting gameplay wise, which is totally possible with the Question.

I’m probably the only one who wants to see characters from WildC.A.T.S.

I am not very familiar with Question, so I went to comicvine to read on him:

“Sage has no exceptional personal powers or abilities. He is a highly skilled martial artist and hand-to-hand combatant. He is also exceptionally intelligent, and an excellent detective.”

I agree that we have to many of those punchy dudes. Does he at least have any gadgets to rival Joker’s?

The gas he uses to make his faceless mask. The gas multiple applications and tend to vary by writer. 2005 mini-series gave the gas a hallucinogenic property that turns him into a city shaman and a slight change of personality.

He has one very notable “gadget” his special gas, it hides his face, changes colours of things, conceals him etc. You could make some good moves out of that.
Truthfully if he was to get in it would most likely be due to having a part in the storyline, otherwise it would make more sense to include others (still want him though, but again i’m a big fan,so i’m biased)

I am surprised by how interested I am in this game.

Gameplay wise, when I first heard about the stage interaction I was put off. After actually seeing it in action, I’m optimistic. In particular I’m very keen on that stage hazard that was live electrical wires hanging from the ceiling. It spells for nice combos and if it also hurts people who jump into it then it sets up a nice nearly safe projectile spam zone. I wonder how safe it is to actually pick up those bombs and other items. Can you still block?

Story wise, I’m a Marvel. I watched most of the cartoons though. I did play DCUO for a few months as well. It would have been sweet if there was a CAC mode and you could import your DCUO characters. I made a character named ANGEL CORE, a cyborg angel, FROM THE FUTURE.

My only gripe is how long the stage transitions are. Longer than an Ultra Combo(SF4 or KI) is too long. One of the things I like most about this game is how un-MK it is(yeah, I know). But those stage transitions are a shining example of Midway/NS’s brand of over-the-topness that really goes against the grain of how I perceive the DC Universe.

I want Raven.

I will never forget the pool of alcohol.

Do Dc own the rights to those characters? I know voodoo and grifter are in the new 52 and there are rumors of a wildC.A.T.S comic joining the new 52 at some point in the future(God please let this be true, id love to see a new comic and maybe even an animated series down the line).

They owned those characters for a little over a decade now. DC acquired Wildstorm back in 99. Now DC is intriguing the Wildstorm characters into the main universe

Which if they were gonna do gas Scarecrow would be a better choice I’m sorry but it’s just too obvious not to say. God Batman’s villains are OP…

I never said the Question can’t fight I said he can’t fight so well that it justified him getting a slot in the game when we have characters like Batman or Wonder Woman who are better fighters and will very likely have characters like Deathstroke who are also better.

He can’t fight well enough to justify it like a Ironfist would, he’s good but not so good that he’d stand out. While it may not be impossible for him to be interesting I’d say it’s highly unlikely. That’s reason enough for me to want others over him.

Hope they don’t spend a character spot for Clayface when Plastic Man and Martian Manhunter exist, have either interchangeable powers or the same powers coupled with other powers and are generally more interesting.

Their gases work differently. In the Scarecrow’s case, it doesn’t need to be gas at all. It wouldn’t be same

My apology then, I have only known Question to use his gas involving his mask so I’m not an expert there. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him use it as a weapon before actually. What mini was this?

Knew about crow tho.

By the way, MKvsDC Joker wasn’t that bad, moveset-wise. He had a lot of specials with tricks, like that green smoke thing and gadgets, and I assume he was supposed to rely on those specials a lot more, but the game was just really broken. Like, Darkseid, I think, could repeat the same command normal over and over and it’s an infinite.

I think it’s possible to make a believable moveset for him on Injustice.

Back when he was a Charlton character. The gas has a high toxicity and can be lethal when used on open wounds. It can have a weapon application. Though I’m not sure if this trait stayed intact when he became a DC character.

New interview about Injustice

“One of the reasons we brought [Injustice] to EVO is that audience is certainly one we want to serve,” Boon said. We definitely got good feedback. Some people were asking about the super moves: ‘How long do they take to [play out]?’ I don’t think we’re going to have them play out longer than a Marvel vs Capcom or Super Street Fighter IV [super move] or the X-rays in Mortal Kombat. Time-wise, we definitely want to keep it in the same realm of other fighting games."

One concession NetherRealm might make for the EVO crowd is related to its interactive stages, unique in their ability to inflict damage on players.
“I think anytime you do something as, I guess, bold or out of the box as that, you’re going to have people that question it,” Boon said. “Especially, how does that come into play in a tournament situation? If you play in the Batcave, you have a different strategy than if you play in the Fortress of Solitude. My guess is we will certainly offer at least one stage that is traditional, because you never know what’s going to be banned in tournaments. We’re definitely aware of the EVO guys and we’re going to put things in the game to accommodate them with a more stripped down version.”

I’m sure this has already been posted in this thread but, we need him in this game:

In this fighting stance EXACTLY, except levitating off the ground with his feet straight:

And a condensed version of this as his fight intro (skip to 0:50):

That is all.

I’m starting to doubt if characters like Darkseid will be in this game. Just based on the story we know so far it seems like a civil war type deal where heroes turn on heroes and villains betray villains.

If I’m right characters like Darkseid wouldn’t fit in that type of story. Hope I’m wrong because he’d be a sick character.
