Injustice: Gods Among Us; New Game by NetherRealm Studios

Have you played MKvDC? They had Joker punching, kicking and juggling with the rest of them. Gadgets were regulated to special moves and didn’t factor into how he played. Just made it all the worse that the game’s story mode use Rage to explain away why Joker can fist fight with the best of them. If the guy fought just using gadgets it would be great…only it didn’t turn out that way. I find it weak that you say that Question wouldn’t fit despite the fact he is a renowned material artist and this is a fighting game. Joker is a guy doesn’t know how throw a punch right and they put them in sort of game anyway. Only reason I brought him up.

Yes it is. Your essentially saying he shouldn’t be in the game because he won’t fight as cool as Batman, Harley or whoever makes into the game.

Yes that’s exactly what I’m saying. If he doesn’t add anything unique to the table and isn’t that popular to begin with WHY SHOULD HE BE IN THE GAME???

I don’t want a character with a boring move set getting in over someone who could be really unique and interesting from a design perspective.

How is that a weak excuse? It’s sounds like you’re being very bias to the truth Hawk.

They can make any character do anything they want. If the character design fails, that’s on the developers, not on the actual character they chose.

Question = Lame moveset despite being trained by a character who has trained people from the Batman family, Birds of Prey, etc and is in equal footing as a fighter. K, brah.

Because we all know Harley Quinn is fighting well within her pay grade in this game, amirite? Can we get some actual arguments in here?

The logic pulsating from this post is just.too.much. How dare you make sense!

I’ve already said I had a problem with Harley getting in even tho I love that character so I agree that she fits this as well.

Oh my god everyone already throws punches and kicks and everyone here is already a martial artist so that point is not what I’m talking about. I’m saying why should he be in JUST because he is a martial artist when every other hero is a martial artist plus have things that make them more unique as fighters and separate them while Question doesn’t. He’s bland.

I think the characters should fight like they do in their books and how we expect them too, if not then we get someone inorganic to that character imo.

Of course they could make Question do something crazy but everything he could do someone else could do better PLUS other things,

Already been said but bears repeating.

You kept saying that he would have a lame moveset. What about the character abilities, skills and gadgets would make him incapable of having an interesting moveset? With his expand worth of knowledge of martial arts, personality and what his gas can do I can think of a few neat things.

How a character fights in a comic book changes from issue to issue. Other than “Here are his powers and weaknesses”, the sky is the limit, and they can be VERY imaginative with the limits of a character’s powers and abilities.

If they WANT a character to work and be unique and “awesome” they can do so. It’s all within their power. If they fail, again, it’s on the developers.

LOL now that’s a cop out. If you have to think so hard for a character to be unique they should probably be skipped over in the first place.

Whatever none of this matters Question likely won’t be in this game anyway and no the sky isn’t the limit because they want to keep the characters true to themselves they have said it many times.

Given what he normally has on him he wouldn’t be very unique at all no matter how you look at it. They can’t do both: keep him close to source material AND make him more than a basic martial artist that we already have in the game and will get more of as they add characters.

God forbid you actually have to think about what a character should do.

Since obviously we should only deal with characters with obvious movesets, give me a rundown of 16 DC characters, their movesets and special traits, and not one can be a martial artist only since obviously that’s something you want to be rid of completely.

I want to sit and read this.

Once upon a time everybody thought Spencer was the worst addition to the MvC3 cast. Case closed.

Not to mention Akuma, Vergil, Iron Fist, She-Hulk, X-23, Rocket Raccoon…hell, I could probably go up to 60% of the cast.

First off, read the Dennis O’Neil run of The Question. Seriously.

Secondly, you started dismissing the character as someone who cannot hold his own in a fight and is merely a detective. Now that the contrary has been proven, you are turning this into a “well, he would be boring in this game cuz no superpowers/tricks!” kind of deal. There are tons of gameplay mechanics that can be built on with his usage of gas that is so iconic to the character, and since he is a detective with extensive martial training expanded upon by years of street combat with criminals gives the developers an opportunity to give him a unique moveset based on street/dirty tactics.

You are really arguing for argument’s sake, not really giving any good reason outside of some perception of what kind of game the character is good in. Not that it matters since neither of us are calling the shots in the game’s development.

Bionic arm =/= Normal martial artist. Spencer was way easier to separate imo.

I’m not saying you can’t put thought into a character I’m saying we already have martial artists in the game and imo they should try to have as many unique characters as they can. The DC universe is filled to too many special characters to have a character only doing regular martial arts. Why have that when you can have the similar martial artist who just happens to shoot lighting or teleport or something.

I’ve already stated my position on the question (would love to have him, doubt it would happen) but I think if they did descide to choose him they could easily make him work, hell i came up with a moveset for him earlier and I suck at it, I have faith the netherealm team could easily make him work if they wanted to. Whether he deserves to get in over others, not sure, he has the appropriate legacy, and a reason to promote him (he seams to be a possible upcoming big deal in the new 52

Spoiler

He apparently is a cursed being on the level of phantom stranger and pandora cursed to constantly seek answers to questions,as well as having lost his face, not a fan of this development honestly, but they could still use his classic version, it wouldn’t be the first time an older version of a character has been used in media to promote the modern version

Really depends on how much the team would want him, which I am unfortunately doubtful of.

And what’s stopping them from using one shot abilities and items for the Question to use?

Again, it falls on the developer. They’re just as likely to fuck up a “more interesting” character than make a supposed bland one great. But no, making Aquaman awesome and Question being a waste is a lock. I apologize for wasting your time with this obviously futile debate.

I never said the Question couldn’t fight I said fighting isn’t what he’s really known or loved for. It’s more of his personality and his detective stories that wins fans over imo.

I assume you mean my “above his paygrade” comment yes? Well do you think he would beat anyone in this game so far besides Harley? Even then I’d say she’s be competitive with him for no other reason but her unpredictably .

The main thing I agree with you on is that none of this matters, we’ll just have to wait and see how the game develops.

They wanna put The Question in, fine.

But they better put some more popular characters in before they put The Question in. It would not go over well if Black Canary, Green Arrow, Deathstroke, Darkseid, Huntress, and/or Martian Manhunter weren’t in the initial lineup but The fucking Question was.

This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:

Although… if The Questoin had a movelist akin to Phoenix Wright… it would be hard for me to hate.

 Now you’re being bitter.

I never act like my opinion is fact, I stated my opinion and then backed up why I feel that way. The Question is a character with less tools to play with so to speak. I’m sure they could move those tools in a way that excites you but I’d rather they play with someone who fights in a different unique way than to try to do more with less.

I still don’t see how this opinion is wrong.
