You didn’t prove anything. Captain Cold was apart of show that still within the memories of many people. That alone gives him the edge over someone like Killer Frost who didn’t start making appearances outside of comics until Justice League. Cold ain’t no C-villain
I said possibly most well liked by the dc fanbase. If you are going to argue semantics, read closer. Spiderman isn’t dc, and batman is the reason for the possibly part. Among the dc comic fanbase they are incredibly well liked for the quality of the gallery, they may not have the exposure of the bat gallery, but the popularity they have proportionate to the exposure they have is actually quite substantial.
And so what if no one remembers cold from superfriends or not. He is very well known in the comics, and honestly that should count for something. If things were based entirely on what the casual fans can recognize from other forms of media (which among flash villains he may actually be the most adapted to these mediums), this game would be 50% batman, and that would be incredibly unbalanced.
Well zoom wouldn’t have to play exactly like flash, I think they have distinct enough looks that it could work and it would be great exposure for him…the vs series had iron man and war machine for example so I don’t see why this game couldn’t have both flash and zoom.
Cold is so not a big deal in comics. He’s a good character when he shows up but he’s not well known like he has this big defining story. He’s solid but not well known, well known means comic fans know alot about them which many don’t. Sabretooth is well known, Captain Cold is not.
You said “most liked” but now you’re using proportions and things you didn’t say before to help your argument which is crap. I never said anything about casuals having all the say and you are putting words in my mouth to help your argument now.
CC is not a famous character in any medium. He’s moderate, solid, but a c-lister.
Buzz, wrong
Rogue War, Iron Heights, Rogues Revenge, his Spotlight issues, and many more are consistently regarded as some of the best DC Villian work when they came out and CC is at the head of all these stories,
This doesn’t even make any sense
The Rogues are one of the most well known groups by comic fans, actual comic fans not just people who saw a cartoon or two and think they’re comic fans.
I would like to add Citizen Cold to this list.
No I never said you said anything about casuals, it’s just the reference materials you put up as evidence (such as cartoons) would only really matter to casuals. For fans of the comics none of that really matters.
I said possibly in my first post, you didn’t get that I wasn’t dealing with absolutes in my post. You didn’t get that, so those proportional points were to help you understand my point. For your benefit. I have openly said Batman can challenge their claim, but if you really look at other rogues galleries in dc no one else can. Thus the possibly part.
And Cold is a big deal, in the flash comics. He is a self contained villain, he really doesn’t have much presence outside them because it would be against his character to seek out other heroes to fight. His big defining story, any major story involving the rogues, as those stories tend to wrap around him.
But I sense this is getting ugly so I’ll just agree to disagree.
Mister Freeze is a hundred times cooler than Captain Cold.
I hope Captain Cold is the freeze themed villain in the game. Batman has the whole Arkham City thing putting the villains out there. Other villains deserve the exposure. Same thing goes for a lot of recognizable but underused heroes. Honestly more people would like Hawkman if they knew his story and looked past his S&M costume with a bird mask.
The Batman animated series did wonders for Mr. Freeze. That’s why I laugh when people mock Schwarzenegger’s ice puns, that literally was his character until the cartoon came out.
I never said anybody else could and I thought we already had agreed on the rouges part that Batman was first and Flash was close second until you brought it back up for some reason. I understood where we were just fine.
I meant comic with just him and not involving the rouges because I’m aware of how dangerous and important they were AS A GROUP. I don’t know where you got the idea I was discrediting them, I’m talking about a big story just involving CC.
Although I can see your point I dunno why you are attacking my comic fandom, that seems a little unnecessary imo.
I’d like to think I’ve defended my opinion with class and haven’t insulted anyone (new for me lol) and would like to be treated the same.
I forgot about this one, nvm I’ll take that part about him not being big in comics back but stand by him not being known by and large by the public.
Him and Frost is still a wash even after all this lol. Good debate, it was fun, but I’m done it’s late.
I’ll be waiting for Hal and/or Oliver to be confirmed for this game. I find this is a smart move by DC to promote their team like Marvel has been doing over these past few years without looking like a blatant dick rider.
I also hope Batman is low tier, that way we can see who his true [S]dickriders[/S] fans are in the fg community xD
I hope everyone is competitive and that there is no real low tier…What? I can dream.
sooo any new news?
Damn you and your logic a and sensibilities…
Don’t expect anything until SDCC
You sure talk about dicks alot…
I think this game will do more for the characters in the game than Marvel ever has mainly because this game will have an actual storymode. If Injustice’s story is anything remotely close to MK9 many people will get more of a feel for the characters in the game.
I agree, especially with the writers they hired. Though I guess it depends on how
different they will be made in storymode, after all the good guys are being called villains afterall.
Though I give credit to the mvc3 team for instilling as much of the characters personalities as they did through gameplay and win/entry quotes only. Not the 90’s team though, some of those characters were fun but way off.
Capcom’s portrayal of marvel characters was a 50/50 as far as accuracy is concerned. I agree this game could be great for some of the lesser known characters which is why I hope the roster is unique and balanced in terms of originality and fan favorites…with that said I hope they do a good job with the fighting styles clause I imagine some characters must a bitch to implement. Kind of makes me wonder why joker’s girl was included when someone like black canary would have been a way better choice.
Are the NRS writers going to be writing this game story? I would think they’ll do what they did with MKvsDC and get a DC writer to do the story for them. Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray wrote that game’s story mode. If they go that route again I would like to see Tony Bedard or Fabian Nicieza on writing duties.
Same guys (Gray and Palmiotti)are doing it last I heard.
There is still a chance for Canary. Quinn does make sense though. She almost made it into mk vs dc as dlc (before midway went bankrupt) so I wouldn’t be surprised if they wanted to make up for that fact. She is also extremely popular and she does have some stuff going on to advertise for the comics due to her involvement with the suicide squad.
