Well the US seems substantially ahead of Japan in writing, and not just in comics/cartoons, but in games as well. As goofy and stupid as the story of MK is, it’s still about 10x less idiotic and insane than Guilty gear or Tekken.

The whole storyline of Tekken could have been easily resolved if the Mishimas kept their family therapy appointment.

I’ve changed my mind, despite liking despero, i remembered he has the same powers as Grodd, and Grodd is awesome. So now I want Grodd.
As for the anime/manga vs comics thing. I have found things I like in both mediums, so I have no problem with either, but the annoying cliches in anime bug me far more than the annoying cliches in comics. Also I think basic character design in comics have evolved a little more. Manga can still get away with pretty boy with giant sword with vague motivation as a character vs hot blooded idiot and still be popular, while comics can’t just do random evil genius vs superman clone anymore unless they have an interesting angle to it or they risk cancellation.This is a shame because this makes all manga look bad, when there are plenty of original ideas out there. The thing with comics is that the different writers per series compared to manga is both a blessing and a curse. Sometimes the switch over between writers/artists can ruin a great book, but on the flipside a great writer can breath new life in to a book or character. That’s why I find mangas that run past 200 issues tend to risk stagnation unless the writing is superb. Maybe that’s why I love JoJo’s Bizarre adventure so much, it’s constantly refreshing itself while still retaining what people like about it.

On that angle, I wonder how they’re going to roll out characters, I kind of hope its not capcom-style.
From what I can remember from GG’s story, Japan was destroyed during the magic war between the humans and gears. The surviving Japanese were put into government protection to try to preserve what remains of their race and culture.
LOL that is a terrible storyline. There’s plenty of Weeaboos that there would be no need to save any Japanese.
Don’t see what’s terrible about it. Japanese lost their freedom thanks to becoming an endangered race and it’s why characters like Anji and Baiken are always on the run. Been heavily implied that May is Japanese which is probably why Johnny has an even bigger bullseye on his chest.

Bitches plz…anime was so hot that it influenced western animation from the early 2000s until now. If it wasnt for anime then our western comics/animated shows would have never stepped up their game.
Think of shows like avatar, that shit wouldn’t have ever been possible without anime influence.

So Injustice! What are the chances on this game getting a PC port? There was some rumors of MK9 receiving a PC port that ultimately never materialized. It would be cool if this game had one
