I guess not everything has been revealed about this mechanic, but it’s basically a gimmicky breaker. You initiate it like you would a breaker in MK, only once it occurs, a gimmicky minigame ensues where both players wager a certain amount of meter. I guess whoever wagers more at the end of the clash wins the clash, and if it ties, then it’s a stalemate. I don’t really know if you take damage by losing a clash or not, but you’ll definitely lose meter? I think I read that you can only do a clash once per fight, and only when a player had their second life bar? I don’t know for certain, and I’m not sure if there’s more solid info.
I don’t like the sound of it. I was never a fan of the gimmicky shit in those last-gen MK games that Midway made, and this clash mechanic along with stage interaction rubs me the wrong way. I won’t judge too harshly until I actually experience these things first-hand, though.
Ya the clash is like a breaker, but you can only do it once, if you win, you either get a bit of health back, or do extra damage to a dude, depending on if you are attacking or defending. I think the amount of damage/health depends on the difference in meter spent, like if you spend 4 bars, and the opponent spends none, you will get more health back. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t cost meter to activate.
So raven was announced, I’m excited in spite of her deep ass voice. Definitely not feeling doomsdays inclusion, although I give netherealms props for going against the grain and including more than 2 heavies in their fighting game. I’ll give doomsday a shot, but I definitely think grundy’s gonna be the heavy for me.
As for the battle arena, its been fun to watch, but I definitely think supes and bats should have sat it out, they kinda suck all the excitement out since I know its gonna be them in the finals. The finals should be fun though despite the semi-finals definitely sucking ass, but I was definitely on the edge of my seat for the GL vs aquaman, and pleasantly surprised that flash beat the joker(I mean he should, but I thought jokers popularity would have won out).
Also, those were some sick alts, I love how supermans win pose and his entrance change if your using the different alt(and ollies voice also changes, good shit DC), it’s those little touches that help with the overall immersion in a title such as this one. Batmans alt is ass though, I’m still not sure if its even an alt, or just the same costume in a different light(hoping its the latter).
Overall I definitely think netherrelams might have a hit on their hands, its a fighting game that can be enjoyed on two separate levels, I was just watching ign geek out over the game, but completely ignoring the actual fighting and just geeking out over the references and shit like that.
Only two characters left to be revealed, I wonder who its gonna be.
TYM is pretty reliable site, not sure why people are shitting on them. Every site has its fair share of silliness, including Srk.
Catwoman’s matrix move is most likely a normal. Below are two screenshots of Nightwing’s movelist, which were added for the show-builds and doesn’t contain all moves or official names for those moves as stated by NRS. You’ll noticed in both stances Nightwing has a ducking light, medium and heavy.
In the video at 2:02 Catwoman does a short hop that evades lows.
I don’t think has been mentioned on SRK, but Projectiles do not cancel each other out in Injustice. It seems characters will either have dodge/evasive moves, moves that absorb projectiles (Aquaman’s water shield which is a special move and has armor), reflect moves (Wonder Woman bracelets) or super armor.
Anyone else notice wonder womans bracelets started glowing after she blocked batarangs with them? Or was I hallucinating again?
Also, DC need to make the costume Wonder Woman used in that fight her default look, it has shades of her old look, but won’t look half as ridiculous in other media and is believable since its all armored up and shit. Different discussion but just had to say that.
This week’s battle vids! I’m pretty happy with the results, no ways should AM beat Green Lantern. Unless Geoff Johns is writing AM then PIS will find a way.
Great gameplay from Joker, he looks really fun. Supes took Arrow in a squash match hahaha
Aquaman could take Green Lantern pretty well comic wise, that was the only wildcard this week in my opinion.
Joker losing to Flash was really surprising, I figured people would vote him in for Batman versus Joker clash. Either way it’ll end up Batman vs. Superman, where it’ll just be a voting war against Batman fans, and people who are also Batman fans but don’t like large bandwagons.
Was cool seeing alternate costumes, although for Batman I couldn’t really tell until I actually started looking. Flash’s seems…dumb, but everyone else’s is alright. I still think Green Lantern’s model and voice is off, he looks like the wicked witch from Wizard of Oz to me. Dat hooked nose…
I’m really liking the stage interactions as combo extenders. I’m still on the fence about the actual transitions tho. I don’t hate them, but idk if there is a point in doing them since I don’t know how much damage they do. The only benefit I see which has been said on tym is that it can give one a chance to recompose themselves.
Yeah without them showing meters for anything we can’t get damage calculations, or how much meter is used for stuff, or how damn near anything works. We just keep getting scripted battle poll matches that lack blocking and have liberal use of meter and ass whippings.
With a fighter that is a month out it is just scary, going in completely blind pretty much.
Who knows? Perhaps the other area of the stage will be more beneficial to a character. Say if I main Nightwing, Area B got hazards like cars that will make my mobility better.
Gameplay videos were awesome. This game will be very fun to watch once good players get their hands on it.
Belle Reve stage looks awesome. Can’t help but feel disappointed seeing Parasite and Grodd in the background of these stages and not be playable. LOL @ kneel before Superman
Seems to go through each other, not completely sure but that is the running theory Jocelot posted. Some characters have dodges that can get around projectiles and moves though.
Nah, I thought the stage design in this game was fantastic, never really been hype for Stages before. The fights shown only a little something new each time but nothing that we as competitive players really care for at the moment.
I like that the outfits alter stuff, like GA had the VA from Arrow, and Superman’s intro and outro were completely different. Batman’s alternate should be his normal outfit, I think his normal makes him look really skinny and the helmet seems off.
Batman seemed to do a cape counter on WW late into the match, leading into a free combo that ended in a ground take down. Pretty cool if that is how it functions. Also it looked like he combo’d into Super so yay and stuff.
Yeah, I guess that means that the legion of Raven fans that I never knew existed can get the Teen Titans voice. Which is awesome, I for one felt that the trailer was missing a little AZARATH METRIOM ZINTHOS.
This is a very…sensitive time in DC. Teen Titans Go has essentially replaced Young Justice, and now they’re getting greater presence in Injustice. I sense possible death on the horizon.
