Injustice: Gods Among Us; New Game by NetherRealm Studios

you do realize that they are EXACT clones, and that their only difference is that one is evil.
But that doesn’t mean they are going to mirror each other.

seriously.

and he was fighting him UP CLOSE when they started, he stopped because he got uppercutted and went flying away.

What? No comment on zoning Hulk?

Also, about someone punching through a tank? Was that just BS, or did it really happen?

If they were exact clones (which they weren’t), why did the dark ones have the upper hand the whole time? They had all of the knowledge and abilities of their real counterparts, but they were violent, vicious, and dangerous. They were the negative feelings that were inside of each of them personified, and amplified with the power of Trigon. I mean, I know you haven’t really watched the show, otherwise you wouldn’t have this misconception, but what you are doing is like showing the one clip where Raven fights hand to hand with Tera for about 10 seconds and claiming she’ll be a martial arts character, or taking a moment where Slade (Deathstroke) has fire powers and claiming that’s his archetype. The only time Cyborg fought hand to hand here was when he was being rushed down by his counterpart too much to safely start firing weapons. You took the first10 seconds of their fight, and ignored the whole REST of it.

Actually, since I love clips so much (I really do, I love them so fucking much), I’ll leave another one, the opening cinematic for the online DC game showing Cyborg. 1:13

I know what you are saying. Yes, he is stronger than humans are. But that does not mean that he uses that strength often enough to warrant NOT being a zoning character, as he should be. I’m not going to argue this point anymore, either you get it or you don’t (and I’ll be utterly dumbstruck if you still don’t).

But Chris Redfield uppercutting The Hulk 50 ft in the air makes sense?

Ryu hip tossing a giant Sentinel makes sense?

Chun Li being able to float in the air by kicking a lot makes sense?

She-Hulk grabbing cars and light poles out of nowhere makes sense?

Haggar having an unlimited amount of lead pipes makes sense?

You’re trying to question logic in one Fighting game, when the entire Fighting Game genre is illogical.

Haggar’s supply actually does make sense. He made some laws which helped the Teamsters in the Plumbers Union, and they in turn provided him with “tools” needed to take out the Mad Gear Gang. He just had some left over for MvC3.

But yeah, you’re right. Ed Boon himself already said this wasn’t MK and it was going to be based more on Superhero Blockbusters. And to be honest, if you can’t get past the semantics of the Dark Knight PWNING Mr. Born on a Monday, just go back to your other fighters and quit being cynical killjoys, because no one likes you anyway.

missing the point

but what you described is like batarangs doing damage to superman , in game

changing Batman into super man then calling him a gadget character is abit silly

it’s not in line with Batman , its like ryu using a bag of guns

All I want is some of the Teen Titans (for nostalgia’s sake.) and no block button, I really don’t like a 2D fighter without cross-ups. I will then thoroughly approve.

Alright, how about this: In the older Xmen/Marvel games…whenever Cyclops was doing a mock multi-hit Shoryuken called a “Gene Splice”…was that at all “in line” with the character? I personally don’t think being a “master combatant” should mean “I can bust out SRKs like a Shoto!”, but obviously Capcom had different ideas.

I forgot about them. Raven or Starfire would kick ass.

Yo, if they put Teen Titans into the game (in addition to Rae and Cy) I think I might just explode.

Capcom can’t make crossovers worth shit. And this isn’t a crossover, there is no material or abilities to add. Everything’s already there, all that needs to be done is balance them for a fun and competitive game. The main issue isn’t him being able to kick someone through a building, it’s that he can kick someone through a building when super strength has absolutely nothing to do with Batman’s movepool, in any way shape or form. Give a martial artist new moves, make this one move work on everyone, make everyone super durable, make projectiles enormous, it’s all fine because it all falls in line with the characters natural moveset anyway. If Batman had counter move that could drive someone through cement, if he threw 15 batarangs at a time per hand, if his utility belt had more gadgets than it could hold with more variants than it had pockets for, that’d all be fine because it fits his established fighting style. Super Strength is not a part of that. Not in any form. He doesn’t even have a tiny bit of super strength that could be exaggerated. When he kicks Grundy, Grundy doesn’t move. Sure, change it a bit for the game play so it’s not like Grundy has perma-super-armor, but to suddenly send him soaring? It doesn’t fit Batman. Give it to Wonder Woman, and it’d be fine even though she can’t do that. She has super strength, so exaggerate it. Any character with established Super Strength, in any amount, can do that without much of an unsettled reaction. Not characters like Batman.

Lets do a little shift to get away from this argument(which is beating a dead horse at this point) and wish list of characters.
LETS TALK STAGES!

Being a big GL fan i would love Oa or Mogo! We’ve seen Batcave and a wierd gray fortress of Solitude???
Central City would be cool, also, Tinasha, the city Batwing works out of, Bludhaven! It would be cool if at some point during a Bludhaven stage if Chemo fell in the background and all of sudden Bludhaven was in ruins!

http://images.wikia.com/casscain/images/5/52/Bludhaven8.jpg

Gorilla City would be cool. Maybe fighting on Thanagar or Ran as the two planets are waging war in the background.
There is a lot they could choose from. Other Ideas???

I like these two.

How about a vertigo shoutout, like fighting in the Dreaming, dream of the endlesses home realm, maybe with dream doing stuff in the background.

The best part is they can interpret it anyway they want, as long as it looks somewhat dreamlike and they have Morpheus in the background

I like that because it would just piss Gaiman the hell off. We all win!

Edit: All my stage ideas are actively useless, like the Black Separatist Island that they used to say was on Krypton, or the Bondage Prison on Paradise Island.

Edit again: I don’t know how boom tubes work these days, or if the New Gods are still dead, but a New Genesis/Apocalyps (sp) stage would be kickin’ too.

I agree, that would be awesome.

What about little krypton-in-a-bottle for a stage? Or an Apocalypse/New Genesis stage where Boom Tubes opened up at certain points to bring you back and forth between the two?

That would be a great use of the new level transitions.

For the latter, that’s what I was thinking too, in-stage transitions kind of like what COTA had. I just wasn’t sure if the tubes were big enough ><

Also Kandor would be really cool. The weird thing is that NRS has in its last few games shown an actually bizarre amount of care for story in their games, so I’m kind of thinking we won’t get many stages that don’t at least kind of fit with the story.

Also, as I think about it, I hope they stages aren’t as absurdly busy/referency as the last 2 capcom games have been. Have stuff going on sure, but we don’t need a ‘count the character’ exercise like in SFxT.

Which hilariously means I hope NRS shows some class (because MK is always so classy)

Kandor Would be pretty cool! especially if we could knock a character through the bottle and have them fight all tiny like in the big world.
Also, Atlantis seems an obvious choice too. Themescyra, The JLA moon base, Apokalips/new genesis, Anit-Matter Universe with anti-monitor in background, London for constantine, Maybe ancient ruins for Hawkman or museum, FLASH MUSEUM!, Maybe Rip Hunters lab where you can knock someoneinto a time machine and somewhere, Crime Alley, Titans’ Tower!!! Maybe Hell/Demon dimension(wherever Ravens Dad is from),

The Best Locations to use as Stages in this game:

Arkham Asylum
The Watchtower
Amazon Island (With Amazons cheering on the violence)
The Ruins of Coast City
Flash Museum
The Roof of LuthorCorp
Maniacal Funhouse

They’d have to be iconic and important within the story. And since Fighting Games are now beyond giving any lone character his/her own level (LAME), best bet is to go with this…

Ohhh, Azarath would be epic! What about a Superboy lab, with a bunch of Superboy clones in tanks? A Cadmus labs area… Oa… Gotham City in the middle of an Arkham Asylum breakout. Fortress of Solitude with Superman Robots in the background looking all creepy. JLA base (the tourist one) with one of those teleporting spots to the Watchtower…

I’d add roof the Daily Planet too, the giant globe is just too big a temptation for anybody wanting to do interactive stage elements. I kind of think maybe not the island too, aren’t men still forbidden on pain of death?

Beyond that it really depends on the nature of the story; A lot depends on if they stay planetbound or go in for the bigger Galactic conflict… altho as i say that I think planetbound is the most likely, especially for the tone and the first game.
